1 And it came to pass at the end of two years of days, that, Pharaoh, was dreaming, when lo! he was standing by the river (Nile);
1 Dois anos inteiros se passaram, e o faraó sonhou que estava em pé na margem do rio Nilo.
2 and lo! from the river, were coming up seven heifers, comely in appearance and fat in flesh,and they fed among the rushes.
2 Em seu sonho, viu sete vacas gordas e saudáveis saírem do rio e começarem a pastar no meio dos juncos.
3 And lo! seven heifers more coming up after them out of the river, uncomely in appearance and lean in flesh,and they came and stood beside the heifers, by the lip of the river.
3 Em seguida, viu outras sete vacas saírem do Nilo. Eram feias e magras e pararam junto das vacas gordas à beira do rio.
4 Then did the heifers that were uncomely in appearance, and lean in flesh, eat up, the seven heifers that were comely in appearance and fat. So Pharaoh awoke.
4 Então as vacas feias e magras comeram as sete vacas gordas e saudáveis. Nessa parte do sonho, o faraó acordou.
5 And he fell asleep, and dreamed a second time, when lo! seven ears, coming up on one stalk fat and good;
5 Depois, voltou a dormir e teve outro sonho. Dessa vez, viu sete espigas de trigo, cheias e boas, que cresciam em um só talo.
6 and lo! seven ears, lean and shrivelled by an east wind, coming up after them.
6 Em seguida, apareceram mais sete espigas, mas elas eram murchas e ressequidas pelo vento do leste.
7 Then did the lean ears swallow up the seven fat and full ears. So Pharaoh awoke and lo! it was a dream.
7 Então as espigas miúdas engoliram as sete espigas cheias e bem formadas. O faraó acordou novamente e percebeu que era um sonho.
8 And it came to pass in the morning, that his spirit became restless, so he sent and called for all the sacred scribes of Egypt and all her wise men,and Pharaoh related to them his dreams, a but there was no one that could interpret them. to Pharaoh.
8 Na manhã seguinte, perturbado com os sonhos, o faraó chamou todos os magos e os sábios do Egito. Contou-lhes os sonhos, mas ninguém conseguiu interpretá-los.
9 Then spake the chief of the butlers with Pharaoh saying, My faults, would mention this day.
9 Por fim, o chefe dos copeiros se pronunciou. “Hoje eu me lembrei do meu erro”, disse ao faraó.
10 Pharaoh, was wroth with his servants,and put them in the ward of the house of the chief of the royal executioners, me, and the chief of the bakers.
10 “Algum tempo atrás, o senhor se irou com o chefe dos padeiros e comigo e mandou prender-nos no palácio do capitão da guarda.
11 Then must we needs dream, a dream in one night, I and he,each man, according to the interpretation of his dream, did we dream.
11 Certa noite, o chefe dos padeiros e eu tivemos, cada um, um sonho, e cada sonho tinha o seu significado.
12 And, there with us, was a young man, a Hebrew servant to the chief of the royal executioners, and we related to him, and he interpreted to us our dreams,to each manaccording to his dream, did he interpret,
12 Estava conosco na prisão um rapaz hebreu que era escravo do capitão da guarda. Contamos a ele nossos sonhos, e ele explicou o que cada um significava.
13 And it came to pass as he interpreted to us, so, it happened,me, he restored to mine office but him, he hanged.
13 E tudo aconteceu exatamente como ele havia previsto. Fui restaurado ao meu cargo de chefe dos copeiros, e o chefe dos padeiros foi enforcado em público.”
14 Then sent Pharaoh and summoned Joseph, and they hastened him out of the dungeon,so he shaved himself and changed his garments, and came in unto Pharaoh.
14 Na mesma hora, o faraó mandou chamar José, e ele foi trazido depressa da prisão. Depois de barbear-se e trocar de roupa, apresentou-se ao faraó.
15 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, A dream, have I dreamed, but none can interpreted it,but, I, have heard say concerning thee, that on hearing a dream, thou canst interpret it.
15 Disse o faraó a José: “Tive um sonho esta noite e ninguém aqui conseguiu me dizer o que ele significa. Soube, porém, que ao ouvir um sonho você é capaz de interpretá-lo”.
16 And Joseph answered Pharaoh saying, Not to me, doth it pertain! May, God grant in answer, the prosperity of Pharaoh!
16 José respondeu: “Essa capacidade não está em minhas mãos, mas Deus pode revelar o significado ao faraó e acalmá-lo”.
17 Then spake Pharaoh unto Joseph,In my dream, there was I, standing on the lip of the river;
17 Então o faraó contou o sonho a José: “Em meu sonho, eu estava em pé na margem do rio Nilo
18 When lo! out of the river, were coming up seven heifers, fat in flesh and comely in form,and they fed among the rushes.
18 e vi sete vacas gordas e saudáveis saírem do rio e começarem a pastar no meio dos juncos.
19 And lo! seven other heifers, coming up after them, poor and very uncomely in form and lean in flesh,I had never seen such in all the land of Egypt, for uncomeliness.
19 Em seguida, vi saírem do rio sete vacas feias e magras que pareciam doentes. Nunca vi animais tão horríveis em toda a terra do Egito.
20 Then did the lean and uncomely heifers eat up the first seven fat heifers;
20 Essas vacas feias e magras comeram as sete vacas gordas.
21 and they passed into their stomach yet could it not be known that they had passed into them, their appearance, being uncomely, as at the beginning. So I awoke.
21 Contudo, não parecia que haviam acabado de comer as outras vacas, pois continuavam tão magras e feias quanto antes. Então, acordei.
22 Then looked I in my dream,And lo! seven ears, coming up on one stalk, full and good;
22 “Em meu sonho, também vi sete espigas de trigo, cheias e boas, que cresciam em um só talo.
23 And lo! seven ears, withered lean shrivelled by an east wind growing up after them.
23 Em seguida, apareceram outras sete espigas, mas elas eram murchas, miúdas e ressequidas pelo vento do leste.
24 Then did the lean ears swallow up, the seven good ears. So I told to me.
24 As espigas miúdas engoliram as sete espigas saudáveis. Contei os sonhos aos magos, mas ninguém foi capaz de dizer o que significam”.
25 Then said Joseph unto Pharaoh, The dream of Pharaoh, is, one. What God is about to do hath he announced to Pharaoh.
25 José respondeu: “Os dois sonhos do faraó significam a mesma coisa. Deus está dizendo ao faraó de antemão o que ele vai fazer.
26 The seven good heifers, are, seven years, and, the seven good ears are, seven years,the dream, is, one.
26 As sete vacas saudáveis e as sete espigas de trigo cheias representam sete anos de prosperidade.
27 And the seven lean and uncomely heifers that were coming up after them, are seven years, and the seven lean ears, shrivelled by an east wind, will turn out to beseven years of famine.
27 As sete vacas feias e magras e as sete espigas miúdas e ressequidas pelo vento do leste representam sete anos de fome.
28 The very word that I spake unto Pharaoh, what, God, is about to do, hath he showed unto Pharaoh.
28 “Acontecerá exatamente como eu descrevi, pois Deus revelou ao faraó de antemão o que ele vai fazer.
29 Lo! seven years, coming in,of great plenty, in all the land of Egypt.
29 Os próximos sete anos serão um período de grande prosperidade em toda a terra do Egito.
30 Then shall arise seven years of famine, after them, so shall be forgotten all the plenty in the land of Egypt,and the famine shall consume the land;
30 Depois, haverá sete anos de fome tão grande que toda essa prosperidade será esquecida no Egito, pois a fome destruirá a terra.
31 neither shall the plenty in the land be discernible, because of that famine coming after,for it shall be livery severe.
31 A escassez de alimento será tão terrível que apagará até a lembrança dos anos de fartura.
32 And for that there was a repeating of the dream unto Pharaoh, twice, it is because the thing, is established, from God, and God is hastening to do it.
32 Quanto ao fato de terem sido dois sonhos parecidos, significa que esses acontecimentos foram decretados por Deus, e ele os fará ocorrer em breve.
33 Now, therefore, let Pharaoh look out a man discreet and wise,and set him over the land of Egypt.
33 “Portanto, o faraó deve encontrar um homem inteligente e sábio e encarregá-lo de administrar o Egito.
34 Let Pharaoh do this, that he may appoint overseers over the land,so shall he take up a fifth of the land of Egypt, during the seven years of plenty.
34 O faraó também deve nomear supervisores sobre a terra, para que recolham um quinto de todas as colheitas durante os sete anos de fartura.
35 And let them gather up all the food of these seven good years that are coming in,and let them heap up corn under the hand of Pharaoh as food in cities so shall they keep it.
35 Encarregue-os de juntar todo o alimento produzido nos anos bons que virão e levá-lo para os armazéns do faraó. Mande-os estocar e guardar os cereais, para que haja mantimento nas cidades.
36 So shall the food become a store for the land, for the seven years of famine which shall come about in the land of Egypt,and the land shall not be cut off in the famine.
36 Desse modo, quando os sete anos de fome vierem sobre a terra do Egito, haverá comida suficiente. Assim, a fome não destruirá a terra”.
37 And the thing was good in the eyes of Pharaoh,and in the eyes of all his servants;
37 O faraó e seus oficiais gostaram das sugestões de José.
38 and Pharaoh said unto his servants,Can we find such a one, a man in whom is the Spirit of God?
38 Por isso, o faraó perguntou aos oficiais: “Será que encontraremos alguém como este homem? Sem dúvida, há nele o espírito de Deus!”.
39 So Pharaoh said unto Joseph, After God hath made known unto thee all this, there is no one discreet and wise like thee.
39 Então o faraó disse a José: “Uma vez que Deus lhe revelou o significado dos sonhos, é evidente que não há ninguém tão inteligente ou sábio quanto você.
40 Thou, shalt be over my house, and on thy mouth, shall all my people kiss,only as to the throne, will I be greater than thou.
40 Ficará encarregado de minha corte, e todo o meu povo obedecerá às suas ordens. Apenas eu, que ocupo o trono, terei uma posição superior à sua”.
41 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph,See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt.
41 O faraó acrescentou: “Eu o coloco oficialmente no comando de toda a terra do Egito”.
42 So Pharaoh took his ring from off his hands and put it upon Josephs hand,and clothed him in garments of fine linen, and put the chain of gold upon his neck;
42 Então o faraó tirou do dedo o seu anel com o selo real e o pôs no dedo de José. Mandou vesti-lo com roupas de linho fino e pôs uma corrente de ouro em seu pescoço.
43 and made him ride in the second chariot which belonged to him, and they cried out before him. Bow the knee! thus setting him over all the land of Egypt.
43 Também o fez andar na carruagem reservada para quem era o segundo no poder, e, por onde José passava, gritava-se a ordem: “Ajoelhem-se!”. Assim, o faraó colocou José no comando de todo o Egito
44 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph. I, am Pharaoh, Without thee, therefore shah no man raise his hand or his foot in all the land of Egypt.
44 e lhe disse: “Eu sou o faraó, mas ninguém levantará a mão ou o pé em toda a terra do Egito sem a sua permissão”.
45 And Pharaoh called Josephs name Zaphenath-paneah, and gave him Asenath daughter of Poti-phera priest of On, to wife,and Joseph went forth over the land of Egypt.
45 O faraó deu a José um nome egípcio: Zafenate-Paneia. Também lhe deu uma mulher, que se chamava Azenate. Ela era filha de Potífera, sacerdote de Om. Assim, José recebeu autoridade sobre todo o Egito.
46 Now, Joseph, was thirty years old, when he took his station, before Pharaoh king of Egypt. So Joseph went forth from before Pharaoh, and passed along through all the land of Egypt.
46 Tinha 30 anos quando começou a servir na corte do faraó, o rei do Egito. Depois de sair da presença do faraó, José foi inspecionar toda a terra do Egito.
47 And the land produced, in the seven years of plenty, by handfuls,
47 Como previsto, durante sete anos a terra produziu fartas colheitas.
48 And he gathered up all the food of the seven years in which there was plenty in the land of Egypt, and laid up food in citiesthe food of the fields of the city. which were round about it, laid he up within it.
48 Ao longo desse tempo, José juntou todas as colheitas do Egito e armazenou nas cidades os cereais produzidos nos campos ao redor.
49 Thus did Joseph heap up corn like the sand of the sea making it exceeding abundant,until one hath left off reckoning, because it cannot be reckoned.
49 Armazenou uma quantidade imensa de cereais, como a areia do mar. Por fim, parou de manter registros, pois havia demais para medir.
50 Now to Joseph, were born two sons, ere yet came in the year of famine,whom Asenath daughter of Poti-phera priest of On, bare to him.
50 Durante esse tempo, antes do primeiro ano de fome, José e sua mulher, Azenate, filha de Potífera, sacerdote de Om, tiveram dois filhos.
51 And Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh,For God hath made me forget all my trouble, and all the house of my father.
51 José chamou o filho mais velho de Manassés, pois disse: “Deus me fez esquecer todas as minhas dificuldades e toda a família de meu pai”.
52 And, the name of the second, called he Ephraim, For God hath made me fruitful in the land of my humiliation.
52 José chamou o segundo filho de Efraim, pois disse: “Deus me fez prosperar na terra da minha aflição”.
53 Then came to an end the seven years of the plenty,which was in the land of Egypt;
53 Por fim, terminaram os sete anos de colheitas fartas em toda a terra do Egito,
54 and the seven years of famine began to come in, according as Joseph had said,and it came to pass that there was a famine in all the lands, but in all the land of Egypt, there was bread.
54 e começaram os sete anos de fome, como José havia previsto. A fome também afetou as regiões vizinhas, mas havia alimento de sobra em todo o Egito.
55 Yet was famine felt in all the land of Egypt, and the people made outcry; unto Pharaoh for bread,and Pharaoh said to all Egypt,Go ye unto Joseph, that which he saith to you, shall ye do.
55 Depois de algum tempo, porém, a fome também se espalhou pelo Egito. Quando o povo clamou ao faraó para que lhe desse alimento, ele respondeu a todos os egípcios: “Dirijam-se a José e sigam as instruções dele”.
56 Now, the famine, was over all the face of the land,so Joseph opened all wherein it was and sold corn to the Egyptians, and the famine laid fast hold of the land of Egypt.
56 Quando faltou alimento em toda parte, José mandou abrir os armazéns e vendeu cereais aos egípcios, pois a fome era terrível em toda a terra do Egito.
57 All the earth also, came in to Egypt to buy corn, unto Joseph,because the famine had laid fast hold on an the earth.
57 Gente de todos os lugares ia ao Egito comprar cereais de José, pois a fome era terrível no mundo inteiro.
