1 Then heard he the words of the sons of Laban, saying, Jacob hath taken away all that belonged to our father; Yea out of what belonged to our father, hath he made all this wealth.
1 Jacó, entretanto, ouviu as palavras dos filhos de Labão, que diziam: Jacó tem levado tudo o que era de nosso pai, e do que era de nosso pai adquiriu ele todas estas, riquezas.
2 And Jacob looked upon the face of Laban,and lo! it was not with him as afore-time.
2 Viu também Jacó o rosto de Labão, e eis que não era para com ele como dantes.
3 Then said Yahweh unto Jacob, Return unto the land of thy fathers and to thy kindred,that I may be with thee.
3 Disse o Senhor, então, a Jacó: Volta para a terra de teus pais e para a tua parentela; e eu serei contigo.
4 So Jacob sent, and called for Rachel and for Leah, to the field unto his flock;
4 Pelo que Jacó mandou chamar a Raquel e a Léia ao campo, onde estava o seu rebanho,
5 and said to them, Beholding, am I the face of your father, that it is not towards me as aforetime,nevertheless, the God of my father, hath been with me;
5 e lhes disse: vejo que o rosto de vosso pai para comigo não é como anteriormente; porém o Deus de meu pai tem estado comigo.
6 and, ye, know that with all my vigour, have I served your father.
6 Ora, vós mesmas sabeis que com todas as minhas forças tenho servido a vosso pai.
7 But, your father, hath deceived me, and hath changed my wages ton times,yet God hath not suffered him to deal harmfully with me.
7 Mas vosso pai me tem enganado, e dez vezes mudou o meu salário; Deus, porém, não lhe permitiu que me fizesse mal.
8 If thus he saith, The speckled, shall be thy wages, then do all the flock bring forth speckled,But if thus he saith, The ring-straked, shall be thy wages, then do all the flock bring forth ring-straked.
8 Quando ele dizia assim: Os salpicados serão o teu salário; então todo o rebanho dava salpicados. E quando ele dizia assim: Os listrados serão o teu salário, então todo o rebanho dava listrados.
9 So hath God stripped away the herds of your father, and given them to me.
9 De modo que Deus tem tirado o gado de vosso pai, e mo tem dado a mim.
10 And it came to pass in the season when the flock were in heat, then lifted I mine eyes and beheld in a dream,and lo! the he-goats that were leaping upon the flock, were ring-straked speckled and dappled.
10 Pois sucedeu que, ao tempo em que o rebanho concebia, levantei os olhos e num sonho vi que os bodes que cobriam o rebanho eram listrados, salpicados e malhados.
11 And the messenger of God said unto me in a dream, Jacob! and I said, Behold me!
11 Disse-me o anjo de Deus no sonho: Jacó! Eu respondi: Eis-me aqui.
12 Then he said Lift, I pray thee, thine eyes and behold All, the he-goats that are leaping upon the flock are ring-straked, speckled, and dappled,for I have seen all that Laban, has been doing to thee.
12 Prosseguiu o anjo: Levanta os teus olhos e vê que todos os bodes que cobrem o rebanho são listrados, salpicados e malhados; porque tenho visto tudo o que Labão te vem fazendo.
13 I, am the GOD of Beth-el, where thou didst anoint a pillar, where thou didst vow to me a vow,Now, rise, go forth out of this land, and return unto the land of thy kindred.
13 Eu sou o Deus de Betel, onde ungiste uma coluna, onde me fizeste um voto; levanta-te, pois, sai-te desta terra e volta para a terra da tua parentela.
14 Then responded Rachel and Leah, and said to him,Have we any longer a portion or an inheritance in the house of our father?
14 Então lhe responderam Raquel e Léia: Temos nós ainda parte ou herança na casa de nosso pai?
15 Are we not accounted, aliens, to him seeing that having sold us, he hath then gone on devouring, our silver?
15 Não somos tidas por ele como estrangeiras? pois nos vendeu, e consumiu todo o nosso preço.
16 Surely all the riches which God hath stripped off from our father, unto us, it belongeth, and unto our sons,Now, therefore, whatsoever God hath said unto thee, do.
16 Toda a riqueza que Deus tirou de nosso pai é nossa e de nossos filhos; portanto, faze tudo o que Deus te mandou.
17 So Jacob arose,and mounted his sons and his wives on the camels;
17 Levantou-se, pois, Jacó e fez montar seus filhos e suas mulheres sobre os camelos;
18 and drave away all his herds and all his goods which he had gathered, the gains he had gained, which he had gathered in Padan-aram; that he might go in unto Isaac his father unto the land of Canaan.
18 e levou todo o seu gado, e toda a sua fazenda, que havia adquirido, o gado que possuía, que havia adquirido em Padã-Arã, a fim de ir ter com Isaque, seu pai, à terra de Canaã.
19 Now, Laban, had gone, to shear his sheep,so Rachel stole the household gods that belonged to her father,
19 Ora, tendo Labão ido tosquiar as suas ovelhas, Raquel furtou os ídolos que pertenciam a seu pai.
20 Thus Jacob stole away unawares to Laban, the Syrian,in that he had not told him that he was about to flee.
20 Jacó iludiu a Labão, o arameu, não lhe fazendo saber que fugia;
21 So he fled, theand all that he had, and he arose, and passed over the River,and set his face towards the mountain of Gilead.
21 e fugiu com tudo o que era seu; e, levantando-se, passou o Rio, e foi em direção à montanha de Gileade.
22 And it was told Laban, on the third day,that Jacob had fled.
22 Ao terceiro dia foi Labão avisado de que Jacó havia fugido.
23 So he took his brethren with him, and pursued after him a journey of seven daysand overtook him in the mountain of Gilead.
23 Então, tomando consigo seus irmãos, seguiu atrás de Jacó jornada de sete dias; e alcançou-o na montanha de Gileade.
24 And God went in unto Laban the Syrian in a dream of the night,and said to him Take heed to thyself that thou speak not with Jacob either good or bad.
24 Mas Deus apareceu de noite em sonho a Labão, o arameu, e disse-lhe: Guardate, que não fales a Jacó nem bem nem mal.
25 So then Laban came up with Jacob,Jacob, having pitched his tent in the mountain, Laban, also, with his brethren pitched in the mountain of Gilead.
25 Alcançou, pois, Labão a Jacó. Ora, Jacó tinha armado a sua tenda na montanha; armou também Labão com os seus irmãos a sua tenda na montanha de Gileade.
26 Then said Laban to Jacob, What hadst thou done, that thou shouldst steal away unawares to me,and shouldst carry off my daughters, as captives of the sword?
26 Então disse Labão a Jacó: Que fizeste, que me iludiste e levaste minhas filhas como cativas da espada?
27 Wherefore didst thou secretly flee, and rob me,and didst not tell me, that I might send thee away with rejoicing and with songs, with timbrel and with lyre;
27 Por que fizeste ocultamente, e me iludiste e não mo fizeste saber, para que eu te enviasse com alegria e com cânticos, ao som de tambores e de harpas;
28 and didst not suffer me to kiss my sons and my daughters? Now, hast thou done, foolishly.
28 Por que não me permitiste beijar meus filhos e minhas filhas? Ora, assim procedeste nesciamente.
29 It is in the power of my hand, to deal with thee for harm,but the God of your father, last night, spake unto me, saying, Take heed to thyself that thou speak not with Jacob, either good or bad.
29 Está no poder da minha mão fazer-vos o mal, mas o Deus de vosso pai falou-me ontem à noite, dizendo: Guarda-te, que não fales a Jacó nem bem nem mal.
30 But, now, though thou, didst even take thy journey, because thou, didst sorely long, for the house of thy father,, wherefore didst thou steal away my gods?
30 Mas ainda que quiseste ir embora, porquanto tinhas saudades da casa de teu pai, por que furtaste os meus deuses?
31 And Jacob answered and said unto Laban,Because I was afraid, for I said, Lest thou take by force thy daughters from me!
31 Respondeu-lhe Jacó: Porque tive medo; pois dizia comigo que tu me arrebatarias as tuas filhas.
32 He with whom thou find thy gods, shall not live! Before our brethren, note thou for thyself what is with me and take what is thine. Neither did Jacob know that, Rachel, had stolen them.
32 Com quem achares os teus deuses, porém, esse não viverá; diante de nossos irmãos descobre o que é teu do que está comigo, e leva-o contigo. Pois Jacó não sabia que Raquel os tinha furtado.
33 Then entered Laban into the tent of Jacob and into the tent of Leah and into the tent of the two handmaids, and found nothing,then went he forth out of the tent of Leah, and entered into the tent of Rachel.
33 Entrou, pois, Labão na tenda de Jacó, na tenda de Léia e na tenda das duas servas, e não os achou; e, saindo da tenda de Léia, entrou na tenda de Raquel.
34 Now Rachel, had taken the household gods and put them in the basket-saddle of the camel, and taken her seat upon them. And Laban felt about throughout all the tent, and found them not.
34 Ora, Raquel havia tomado os ídolos e os havia metido na albarda do camelo, e se assentara em cima deles. Labão apalpou toda a tenda, mas não os achou.
35 And she said unto her father, Let it not be vexing in the eyes of my lord that I cannot rise up at thy presence, for, the way of women, is upon me. So he made search, but found not the household gods,
35 E ela disse a seu pai: Não se acenda a ira nos olhos de meu senhor, por eu não me poder levantar na tua presença, pois estou com o incômodo das mulheres. Assim ele procurou, mas não achou os ídolos.
36 And it was vexing to Jacob and he contended with Laban,and Jacob responded and said to Laban, What was my trespass, what my sin, that thou shouldst have come burning after me?
36 Então irou-se Jacó e contendeu com Labão, dizendo: Qual é a minha transgressão? qual é o meu pecado, que tão furiosamente me tens perseguido?
37 Now that thou hast felt about among all my goods, what hast thou found of the goods of thine own house? Set it out here, right before my brethren and thy brethren,that they may give sentence betwixt us two.
37 Depois de teres apalpado todos os meus móveis, que achaste de todos os móveis da tua casar. Põe-no aqui diante de meus irmãos e de teus irmãos, para que eles julguem entre nós ambos.
38 This twenty years time, have, I, been with theeThy ewes and thy she-goats, have not cast their young,And the rams of thy flock, have I not eaten,
38 Estes vinte anos estive eu contigo; as tuas ovelhas e as tuas cabras nunca abortaram, e não comi os carneiros do teu rebanho.
39 The torn, have I not brought in unto theeI bare the loss, At my hand, didst thou require it,Stolen by day, or stolen by night.
39 Não te trouxe eu o despedaçado; eu sofri o dano; da minha mão requerias tanto o furtado de dia como o furtado de noite.
40 Thus have I beenBy day, drought hath consumed me, And, frost, by, night,So that my sleep fled away from mine eyes.
40 Assim andava eu; de dia me consumia o calor, e de noite a geada; e o sono me fugia dos olhos.
41 This, hath been my lot twenty years in thy house,I served thee fourteen years for thy two daughters, And six years for thy sheepAnd thou didst change my wages ten times:
41 Estive vinte anos em tua casa; catorze anos te servi por tuas duas filhas, e seis anos por teu rebanho; dez vezes mudaste o meu salário.
42 But that the God of my fatherThe God of Abraham, and the Dread of IsaacProved to he mine, Surely even now, empty, hadst thou let me go? My humiliation and the wearying toil of my hands, God had seen, And therefore gave sentence last night!
42 Se o Deus de meu pai, o Deus de Abraão e o Temor de Isaque não fora por mim, certamente hoje me mandarias embora vazio. Mas Deus tem visto a minha aflição e o trabalho das minhas mãos, e repreendeu-te ontem à noite.
43 Then responded Laban and said unto Jacobthe daughters, are my daughters, And the sons, are my sons, And the sheep are my sheep, And, all that, thou, beholdest, To me doth it belong! But to my daughters, what can I do to these this day, Or to their sons whom they have borne?
43 Respondeu-lhe Labão: Estas filhas são minhas filhas, e estes filhos são meus filhos, e este rebanho é meu rebanho, e tudo o que vês é meu; e que farei hoje a estas minhas filhas, ou aos filhos que elas tiveram?
44 Now, therefore, come on! Let us solemnise a covenant, I and thou,So shall it be a witness betwixt me and thee.
44 Agora pois vem, e façamos um pacto, eu e tu; e sirva ele de testemunha entre mim e ti.
45 So Jacob took a stone,and set it up as a pillar.
45 Então tomou Jacó uma pedra, e a erigiu como coluna.
46 Then said Jacob to his brethrenGather stones. And they took stones and made a heap,and they did eat there, by the heap.
46 E disse a seus irmãos: Ajuntai pedras. Tomaram, pois, pedras e fizeram um montão, e ali junto ao montão comeram.
47 And Laban called it, Jegar-sahadutha,but, Jacob, called it, Galeed.
47 Labão lhe chamou Jegar-Saaduta, e Jacó chamou-lhe Galeede.
48 Then said Laban: This heap, be witness betwixt me, and thee, to-day. For this cause, is the name thereof called Galeed;
48 Disse, pois, Labão: Este montão é hoje testemunha entre mim e ti. Por isso foi chamado Galeede;
49 also, The Watch Tower, as to which it is said, Yahweh watch betwixt me and thee, when we are parted one from another.
49 e também Mizpá, porquanto disse: Vigie o Senhor entre mim e ti, quando estivermos apartados um do outro.
50 If thou oppress my daughters, or if thou take wives besides my daughters,there may be no man with ussee! God, be witness betwixt me, and thee!
50 Se afligires as minhas filhas, e se tomares outras mulheres além das minhas filhas, embora ninguém esteja conosco, lembra-te de que Deus é testemunha entre mim e ti.
51 And Laban said to JacobBehold this heap, and behold this pillar, which I have set betwixt me, and thee:
51 Disse ainda Labão a Jacó: Eis aqui este montão, e eis aqui a coluna que levantei entre mim e ti.
52 A witness, be this heap, and, a witness, the pillar,That, I, am not to pass, unto thee, over this heap, And, thou, art not to pass, unto me, over this heap and this pillar for harm.
52 Seja este montão testemunha, e seja esta coluna testemunha de que, para mal, nem passarei eu deste montão a ti, nem passarás tu deste montão e desta coluna a mim.
53 The Gods of Abraham and the Gods of Nahor judge betwixt usthe Gods of their fathers. And Jacob sware by the Dread of his father Isaac:
53 O Deus de Abraão e o Deus de Naor, o Deus do pai deles, julgue entre nós. E jurou Jacó pelo Temor de seu pai Isaque.
54 and Jacob offered sacrifice in the mountain, and called on his brethren to eat bread. So they did eat bread, and tarried the night in the mountain.
54 Então Jacó ofereceu um sacrifício na montanha, e convidou seus irmãos para comerem pão; e, tendo comido, passaram a noite na montanha.
55 And Laban rose up early in the morning, and kissed his sons and his daughters, and blessed them: and Laban went his way and returned to his place.
55 Levantou-se Labão de manhã cedo, beijou seus filhos e suas filhas e os abençoou; e, partindo, voltou para o seu lugar.
