1 And Rachel saw she had borne no children unto Jacob, so Rachel became envious of her sister,and said unto Jacob, Come! give me children, or else, I die.
1 E vendo Raquel que não gerava filhos a Jacó, Raquel teve inveja de sua irmã, e disse a Jacó: Dá-me filhos, ou eu morrerei.
2 Then kindled the anger of Jacob with Rachel,and he said, Am I, in the place of God, who hath withheld from thee the fruit of the womb?
2 E se acendeu a ira de Jacó contra Raquel, e ele disse: Estou eu no lugar de Deus, que de ti reteve o fruto do útero?
3 And she said, Lo! my handmaid, Bilhah. Go in unto her,that she may hear upon my knees, so that, I also, may be builded up by her!
3 E ela disse: Eis aí minha serva Bila; entra nela, e ela gerará sobre os meus joelhos, para que eu também possa ter filhos por meio dela.
4 And she gave him Bilhah her handmaid, to wife,and Jacob went in unto her;
4 E ela deu sua serva Bila a ele por mulher; e Jacó entrou nela.
5 and Bilhah conceived, and bare unto Jacob a son;
5 E Bila concebeu, e gerou um filho a Jacó.
6 and Rachel said God hath vindicated me. Moreover also he hath hearkened unto my voice, and hath given me a son. For this cause, called she his name Dan.
6 E Raquel disse: Deus me julgou, e também ouviu a minha voz, e me deu um filho; por isso ela chamou o seu nome Dã.
7 And Bilhah, Rachels handmaid conceived again, and bare a second son to Jacob.
7 E Bila, serva de Raquel, concebeu novamente, e gerou um segundo filho a Jacó.
8 Then said Rachel With wrestlings of God, have I wrestled with my sister Yea I have prevailed. So she called his name, Naphtali.
8 E Raquel disse: Com grandes lutas eu tenho lutado com minha irmã, e eu prevaleci; e ela chamou o seu nome Naftali.
9 Then saw Leah, that she had left off bearing,so she took Zilpah, her handmaid, and gave her to Jacob to wife.
9 Vendo Lia que ela tinha parado de gerar, ela tomou sua serva Zilpa e a deu a Jacó por mulher.
10 And Zilpah, Leahs handmaid, bare to Jacob a son:
10 E Zilpa, serva de Lia, gerou um filho a Jacó.
11 and Leah said, Victory hath come! So she called his name Gad.
11 E Lia disse: Vem uma tropa; e ela chamou o seu nome Gade.
12 And Zilpah, Leahs handmaid bare a second son to Jacob;
12 E Zilpa, serva de Lia, gerou a Jacó um segundo filho.
13 and Leah said, For my happiness, surely happy have daughters pronounced me. So she called his name, Asher.
13 E Lia disse: Eu sou feliz, pois as filhas me chamarão abençoada; e ela chamou seu nome Aser.
14 Then went Reuben, in the days of the wheat harvest, and found mandrakes, in the field, and brought them in unto Leah his mother, and Rachel said unto Leah, Pray give me, stone of the mandrakes of thy son
14 E Rúben foi nos dias da colheita de trigo, e encontrou mandrágoras no campo, e as trouxe à sua mãe Lia. Então, Raquel disse a Lia: Dá-me, rogo-te, das mandrágoras de teu filho.
15 And she said to her, Is it, a small thing, that thou hast taken away my husband? And wouldst thou take away, even the mandrakes of my son? Then said Rachel, Therefore, shall he lie with thee to-night, for the mandrakes of thy son.
15 E ela lhe disse: Seria pequena coisa que tomaste o meu marido? Agora tomarias também as mandrágoras de meu filho? E Raquel disse: Ele poderá deitar-se contigo esta noite pelas mandrágoras de teu filho.
16 And Jacob came in from the field, in the evening, so Leah went out to meet him and said: Unto me, shall thou come in, for I have hired, thee, even with the mandrakes of my son. And he lay with her that night,
16 E Jacó veio do campo à tarde, e Lia foi ao seu encontro e disse: Tu deves entrar a mim; porque certamente eu te aluguei pelas mandrágoras de meu filho. E ele se deitou com ela naquela noite.
17 And God hearkened unto Leah,and she conceived and bare to Jacob a fifth son.
17 E Deus ouviu a Lia, e ela concebeu e gerou a Jacó o quinto filho.
18 Then said Leah. God hath given my hire, in that I gave my handmaid to my husband. So she called his name, Issachar.
18 E Lia disse: Deus me deu meu pagamento, porque eu dei a minha serva a meu marido; e ela chamou o seu nome Issacar.
19 And Leah conceived again and bare a sixth son to Jacob.
19 E Lia concebeu novamente, e gerou a Jacó o sexto filho.
20 Then said Leah, God hath dowered me even me with a hand-some dowry, Now! will my husband dwell with me, for I have borne him six sons. So she called his name, Zebulon.
20 E Lia disse: Deus me dotou com boa dádiva; agora o meu marido habitará comigo, porque lhe gerei seis filhos; e ela chamou o seu nome Zebulom.
21 And afterwards she bare a daughter,so she called her name, Dinah.
21 E depois ela gerou uma filha, e chamou o seu nome Diná.
22 Then God remembered Rachel,and God hearkened unto her, and granted her to bear.
22 E Deus se lembrou de Raquel, e Deus a ouviu, e abriu o seu útero.
23 So she conceived and bare a son,and said, God hath taken away my reproach;
23 E ela concebeu, e gerou um filho, e disse: Deus removeu a minha vergonha.
24 So she called his name Joseph, saying, Yahweh is adding unto me another son.
24 E ela chamou o seu nome José, e disse: O SENHOR me acrescentará outro filho.
25 And it came to pass, when Rachel had borne Joseph, that Jacob said unto Laban, Let me go that I may take my journey, unto my place, and to my land.
25 E aconteceu que, quando Raquel gerou José, Jacó disse a Labão: Envia-me, para que eu possa ir ao meu próprio lugar e à minha terra.
26 Come, give me my wives and my children for whom I have served thee and let me take my journey,for, thou, knowest my service wherewith I have served thee.
26 Dá-me minhas mulheres e meus filhos, pelos quais eu te servi, e deixa-me ir, pois tu sabes o serviço que eu tenho feito a ti.
27 And Laban said unto him, If, I pray thee, I have found favour in thine eyes, I have divined that Yahweh hath blessed me for thy sake.
27 E Labão lhe disse: Peço-te, se encontrei favor aos teus olhos, fica; pois eu tenho aprendido por experiência que o SENHOR me abençoou por tua causa.
28 And he said,Come, fix thy wages for me, that I may give it!
28 E ele disse: Determina o teu salário, e eu o darei.
29 And he said unto him, Thou, knowest how I have served thee,and how thy cattle have fared, with me.
29 E ele lhe disse: Tu sabes como eu te servi, e como teu gado estava comigo.
30 For it was, little I that thou hadstbefore I came and then it brake forth into multitude, and Yahweh blessed thee at my every step. Now, therefore, when am, I, also to do something for my own house?
30 Porque era pouco o que tinhas antes da minha vinda, e agora cresceu para uma multidão; e o SENHOR te abençoou desde a minha vinda. E agora, quando deverei prover também para a minha casa?
31 And he said, What shall I give thee? And Jacob said: Thou shall give me, nothing at all, If thou wilt do for me this thing, I will return, I will shepherd thy flock I will keep it:
31 E ele disse: O que eu te darei? E Jacó disse: Tu não me darás nada. Se fizeres esta coisa por mim, eu alimentarei e guardarei o teu rebanho novamente.
32 Let me pass through all thy flock to-day, removing from thence every young one that is speckled and spotted and every young one that is dark-coloured among the young sheep, and spotted and speckled among the goats, and they shall he my wages.
32 Passarei por todo o teu rebanho hoje, removendo dele todo o gado salpicado e malhado, e todos os marrons entre as ovelhas, e o salpicado e malhado entre as cabras, e de tais será o meu salário.
33 And my righteousness shall answer for me on a future day, when thou shall come in respecting my hire that is before thee, Every one that is not speckled and spotted among the goats and dark-coloured among the young sheep, stolen, shall it be accounted, if found with me.
33 Assim, a minha justiça responderá por mim no tempo vindouro, quando vieres ver o meu salário diante da tua face; todo o que não for salpicado ou malhado entre as cabras, e marrom entre as ovelhas, isto será contado como furto comigo.
34 Then said Laban, Lo! would it might he according to thy word!
34 E Labão disse: Eis que possa ser conforme a tua palavra.
35 So he removed, on that day, the he-goats that were striped and spotted and all the she-goats that were speckled and spotted, every one that had white in it, and every dark-coloured one among the young sheep,and delivered then into the hand of his sons;
35 E ele separou naquele dia os bodes que eram listrados e malhados, e todas as cabras que eram salpicadas e malhadas, e tudo que tinha algum branco, e tudo o que era marrom entre as ovelhas, e os deu nas mãos de seus filhos.
36 then put he a journey of three days between himself and Jacob,but, Jacob himself, continued tending the flocks of Laban that were left.
36 E ele estabeleceu três dias de jornada entre si e Jacó, e Jacó alimentava o restante dos rebanhos de Labão.
37 So then Jacob took him rods of young storax, and hazel and maple,and peeled in them white stripes, laying bare the white which was on the rods.
37 E Jacó tomou para si varas verdes de álamo, e de aveleira, e de castanheiro, e descascou nelas riscas brancas, e fez aparecer o branco que estava nas varas.
38 And he set the reds which he had peeled, in the channels in the troughs of water,where the flocks came in to drink straight before the flocks, and the females of the flock used to be in heat when they came in to drink;
38 E colocou as varas que havia descascado diante dos rebanhos nos cochos e nos bebedouros aonde os rebanhos vinham para beber, para que concebessem quando viessem para beber.
39 and the males of the flock were in heat before the rods,so the flocks brought forth ring-straked, speckled, and spotted.
39 E os rebanhos concebiam diante das varas, e davam crias listradas, salpicadas e malhadas.
40 The rams also, did Jacob separate, and then set the faces of the flocks towards the ring-straked and all the dark-coloured, among the flocks of Laban,and he put his own droves by themselves, and put them not with the flocks of Laban.
40 E Jacó separou os cordeiros, e colocou as faces do rebanho para os listrados, e todo marrom no rebanho de Labão. E ele separou seus próprios rebanhos, e não os colocou entre o rebanho de Labão.
41 So it came to pass whensoever the stronger of the flocks were in heat, that Jacob set the rods before the eyes of the flocks in the channels,that the females might be in heat among the rods;
41 E aconteceu que, quando o rebanho forte concebia, Jacó colocava as varas diante dos olhos do rebanho nos bebedouros, para que eles pudessem conceber entre as varas.
42 but, when the flocks were late in bearing, he did not set them,and so the late-born were Labans, out the strong ones Jacobs.
42 Mas quando o rebanho era fraco, ele não os colocava. Assim os fracos eram de Labão, e os fortes de Jacó.
43 Thus did the man break forth, exceedingly,thus came he to have flocks in abundance, and maid-servants, and men-servants and camels and asses.
43 E o homem cresceu grandemente, e possuía muitos rebanhos, e servas, e servos, e camelos, e jumentos.
