1 And the life of Sarah came to be, a hundred and twenty-seven years,the years of the life of Sarah.
1 Sara viveu cento e vinte e sete anos
2 And Sarah died in Kiriath-arba, the same, is Hebron in the land of Canaan,and Abraham went in to wail for Sarah and to weep for her.
2 e morreu em Quiriate-Arba, que é Hebrom, em Canaã; e Abraão foi lamentar e chorar por ela.
3 And Abraham rose up from over the face of his dead,and spake unto the sons of Heth, saying;
3 Depois Abraão deixou ali o corpo de sua mulher e foi falar com os hititas:
4 A sojourner and settler, am I with you,Give me a possession of a buryingplace with you, That I may bury my dead, from before me.
4 "Sou apenas um estrangeiro entre vocês. Cedam-me alguma propriedade para sepultura, para que eu tenha onde enterrar a minha mulher".
5 And the sons of Heth answered Abraham, saying to him:
5 Responderam os hititas a Abraão:
6 Hear us, my lord! A prince of God, art thou in our midst, In the choice of our buryingplaces, bury thy dead,Not, a man from among us his, burying-place, will withhold from thee, from burying thy dead.
6 "Ouça-nos, senhor; o senhor é um príncipe de Deus em nosso meio. Enterre a sua mulher numa de nossas sepulturas, na que lhe parecer melhor. Nenhum de nós recusará ceder-lhe sua sepultura para que enterre a sua mulher".
7 And Abraham rose up, and bowed himself down to the people of the land, to the sons of Heth;
7 Abraão levantou-se, curvou-se perante o povo daquela terra, os hititas,
8 and spake with them, saying,If it is with the consent of your minds that I should bury my dead from before me, hear me, and intercede for me, with Ephron son of Zohar:
8 e disse-lhes: "Já que vocês me dão permissão para sepultar minha mulher, peço que intercedam por mim junto a Efrom, filho de Zoar,
9 That he would give me, the cave of Machpelah, which pertaineth unto him, which is within the bounds of his field,For full silver, let him give it me in your midst, For a possession of a buryingplace.
9 a fim de que ele me ceda a caverna de Macpela, que lhe pertence e se encontra na divisa do seu campo. Peçam-lhe que a ceda a mim pelo preço justo, para que eu tenha uma propriedade para sepultura entre vocês".
10 Now, Ephron, was sitting in the midst of the sons of Heth,so Ephron the Hittite responded to Abraham, in the ears of the sons of Heth, even all that were entering the gate of his city, saying:
10 Efrom, o hitita, estava sentado no meio do seu povo e respondeu a Abraão, sendo ouvido por todos os hititas que tinham vindo à porta da cidade:
11 Nay, my lord, hear me, The field, have I given to thee And, the cave that is therein, to thee, have I given it,In the eyes of the sons of my people, have I given it thee Bury thy dead.
11 "Não, meu senhor. Ouça-me, eu lhe cedo o campo e também a caverna que nele está. Cedo-os na presença do meu povo. Sepulte a sua mulher".
12 So Abraham boweth himself down, before the people of the land:
12 Novamente Abraão curvou-se perante o povo daquela terra
13 and spake unto Ephron in the ears of the people of the land saying, Only if, thou, wouldst, hear me,I have given the silver of the field Take it of me, That I may bury my dead here.
13 e disse a Efrom, sendo ouvido por todos: "Ouça-me, por favor. Pagarei o preço do campo. Aceite-o, para que eu possa sepultar a minha mulher".
14 And Ephron responded to Abraham, saying to him,
14 Efrom respondeu a Abraão:
15 My lord, hear me,Land worth four hundred shekels of silverbetwixt me and thee, what is that? And thy dead., bur. thou.
15 "Ouça-me, meu senhor: aquele pedaço de terra vale quatrocentas peças de prata, mas o que significa isso entre mim e você? Sepulte a sua mulher".
16 And Abraham hearkened unto Ephron, and Abraham weighed out to Ephron the silver of which he had spoken in the ears of the sons of Heth,four hundred shekels of silver, current with the merchant,
16 Abraão concordou com Efrom e pesou-lhe o valor por ele estipulado diante dos hititas: quatrocentas peças de prata, de acordo com o peso corrente entre os mercadores.
17 So was con-firmed the field of Ephron, which is in Machpelah, which is before Mamre,the field and the cave which is therein, and all the timber which was in the field, which was in all the boundary thereof round about,
17 Assim o campo de Efrom em Macpela, perto de Manre, o próprio campo com a caverna que nele há e todas as árvores dentro das divisas do campo, foi transferido
18 to Abraham as a purchase in the eyes of the sons of Heth,with all who were entering the gate of his city.
18 a Abraão como sua propriedade diante de todos os hititas que tinham vindo à porta da cidade.
19 And after this, did Abraham bury Sarah his wife, within the cave of the field of Machpelah, over against Mamre, the same, is Hebron,in the land of Canaan.
19 Depois disso, Abraão sepultou sua mulher Sara na caverna do campo de Macpela, perto de Manre, que se encontra em Hebrom, na terra de Canaã.
20 So was confirmed the field with the cave which was therein to Abraham, for a possession of a buryingplace,from the sons of Heth.
20 Assim o campo e a caverna que nele há foram transferidos a Abraão pelos hititas como propriedade para sepultura.
