1 Then said Yahweh unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh,then shalt thou say unto himThus, saith Yahweh,Let my people go, that they may serve me.
1 O Senhor falou a Moisés: "Vá ao faraó e diga-lhe que assim diz o Senhor: Deixe o meu povo ir para que me preste culto.
2 But if thou art, refusing, to let them go, lo! I, am plaguing all thy boundaries with frogs;
2 Se você não quiser deixá-lo ir, mandarei sobre todo o seu território uma praga de rãs.
3 so shall the river swarm with frogs, and they shall come up, and enter into thy house, and into thy bedchamber and upon thy couch,and into the house of thy servants and among thy people, and into thine ovens and into thy kneading-troughs:
3 O Nilo ficará infestado de rãs. Elas subirão e entrarão em seu palácio, em seu quarto, e até em sua cama; estarão também nas casas dos seus conselheiros e do seu povo, dentro dos seus fornos e nas suas amassadeiras.
4 both against thee, and against thy people, and against all thy servants, shall come up the frogs.
4 As rãs subirão em você, em seus conselheiros e em seu povo".
5 Then said Yahweh unto Moses, Say unto AaronStretch forth thy hand with thy staff, over the streams over the rivers and over the pools,and bring up the frogs, over the land of Egypt.
5 Depois o Senhor disse a Moisés: "Diga a Arão que estenda a mão com a vara sobre os rios, sobre os canais e sobre os açudes, e faça subir deles rãs sobre a terra do Egito".
6 So Aaron stretched forth his hand, over the waters of Egypt,and the frog came up, and covered the land of Egypt.
6 Assim Arão estendeu a mão sobre as águas do Egito, e as rãs subiram e cobriram a terra do Egito.
7 And the sacred scribes did in like manner, with their secret arts,and brought up frogs over the land of Egypt.
7 Mas os magos fizeram a mesma coisa por meio das suas ciências ocultas: fizeram subir rãs sobre a terra do Egito.
8 Then called Pharaoh for Moses and for Aaron and saidMake entreaty unto Yahweh, that he take away the frogs from me and from my people,and I must lot the people go that they may sacrifice to Yahweh.
8 O faraó mandou chamar Moisés e Arão e disse: "Orem ao Senhor para que ele tire estas rãs de mim e do meu povo; então deixarei o povo ir e oferecer sacrifícios ao Senhor".
9 And Moses said to PharaohExplain thyself unto me: For what time, shall I make entreaty for thee and for thy servants and for thy people, to cause the frogs to be cut off, from thee and from thy houses,only in the river, shall they remain?
9 Moisés disse ao faraó: "Tua é a honra de dizer-me quando devo orar por ti, por teus conselheiros e por teu povo para que tu e tuas casas fiquem livres das rãs e sobrem apenas as que estão no rio".
10 And he saidFor to-morrow. And he saidAccording to thy word! that thou mayest know that there is none like Yahweh, our God:
10 "Amanhã", disse o faraó. Moisés respondeu: "Será como tu dizes, para que saibas que não há ninguém como o Senhor nosso Deus.
11 so the frogs shall departfrom thee and from thy houses and from thy servants and from thy people,only in the river, shall they remain.
11 As rãs deixarão a ti, às tuas casas, a teus conselheiros e a teu povo; sobrarão apenas as que estão no rio".
12 Then went forth Moses and Aaron from Pharaoh,and Moses made outcry unto Yahweh, over the matter of the frogs which he had appointed for Pharaoh.
12 Depois que Moisés e Arão saíram da presença do faraó, Moisés clamou ao Senhor por causa das rãs que enviara sobre o faraó.
13 And Yahweh did according to the word of Moses,and the frogs died, out of the houses and out of the yards, and out of the fields;
13 E o Senhor atendeu o pedido de Moisés; morreram as rãs que estavam nas casas, nos pátios e nos campos.
14 and they piled them up, heapsheaps,and the land became loathsome.
14 Foram ajuntadas em montões e, por isso, a terra cheirou mal.
15 But when Pharaoh saw that there had come a respite, then made he his heart dull and hearkened not unto them,as spake Yahweh.
15 Mas quando o faraó percebeu que houve alívio, obstinou-se em seu coração e não deu mais ouvidos a Moisés e a Arão, conforme o Senhor tinha dito.
16 Then said Yahweh unto Moses, Say unto AaronStretch forth thy staff, and smite the dust of the land,so shall it become gnats in all the land of Egypt.
16 Então o Senhor disse a Moisés: "Diga a Arão que estenda a sua vara e fira o pó da terra, e o pó se transformará em piolhos por toda a terra do Egito".
17 And they did so, and Aaron stretched forth his hand with his staff and smote the dust of the land, and there canto to be gnats, among men and among beasts,all the dust of the land, became gnats, in all the land of Egypt.
17 Assim fizeram, e quando Arão estendeu a mão e com a vara feriu o pó da terra, surgiram piolhos nos homens e nos animais. Todo o pó de toda a terra do Egito transformou-se em piolhos.
18 And the sacred scribes did in like manner with their secret arts, to bring forth the gnats, but they could not. So there came to be gnats, among men and among beasts.
18 Mas, quando os magos tentaram fazer surgir piolhos por meio das suas ciências ocultas, não conseguiram. E os piolhos infestavam os homens e os animais.
19 Then said the sacred scribes unto Pharaoh, The finger of God, it is! But the heart of Pharaoh waxed bold and he hearkened not unto them, as spake Yahweh.
19 Os magos disseram ao faraó: "Isso é o dedo de Deus". Mas o coração do faraó permaneceu endurecido, e ele não quis ouvi-los, conforme o Senhor tinha dito.
20 Then said Yahweh unto MosesRise thou early in the morning, and station thyself before Pharaoh, lo! he is coming forth to the waters,then shalt thou say unto himThus, saith Yahweh: Let my people go, that they may serve me.
20 Depois o Senhor disse a Moisés: "Levante-se bem cedo e apresente-se ao faraó, quando ele estiver indo às águas. Diga-lhe que assim diz o Senhor: Deixe o meu povo ir para que me preste culto.
21 But if thou art not letting my people go, behold me! sending forthagainst thee, and against thy servants, and against thy people, and against thy houses the gad-fly,and the houses of the Egyptians shall be full of the gad-fly, moreover also the ground whereon, they are:
21 Se você não deixar meu povo ir, enviarei enxames de moscas para atacar você, os seus conselheiros, o seu povo e as suas casas. As casas dos egípcios, bem como o chão em que pisam, se encherão de moscas.
22 then will I make to differ on that day, the land of Goshen wherein my people do dwell, so that there shall not be there a gad-fly! in order that thou mayest know, that I, Yahweh, am in the midst of the land;
22 "Mas naquele dia tratarei de maneira diferente a terra de Gósen, onde habita o meu povo; nenhum enxame de moscas se achará ali, para que você saiba que eu, o Senhor, estou nesta terra.
23 so will I put a separation betwixt my people and thy people. By to-morrow, shall come to pass this sign.
23 Farei distinção entre o meu povo e o seu. Este sinal miraculoso acontecerá amanhã".
24 And Yahweh did so, and brought a grievous gad-fly unto the house of Pharaoh and the houses of his servants and in all the land of Egypt, and the land was laid waste by reason of the gad-fly.
24 E assim fez o Senhor. Grandes enxames de moscas invadiram o palácio do faraó e as casas de seus conselheiros, e em todo o Egito a terra foi arruinada pelas moscas.
25 Then did Pharaoh cry outunto Moses and to Aaron,and said-Go your way, sacrifice to your God, in the land.
25 Então o faraó mandou chamar Moisés e Arão e disse: "Vão oferecer sacrifícios ao seu Deus, mas não saiam do país".
26 And Moses said: Not meet, is it, to do thus, for, an abomination to the Egyptians, we should sacrifice to Yahweh our God. Lo! could we sacrifice that which is an abomination to the Egyptians before their eyes and they not stone us?
26 "Isso não seria sensato", respondeu Moisés; "os sacrifícios que oferecemos ao nosso Deus são um sacrilégio para os egípcios. Se oferecermos sacrifícios que lhes pareçam sacrilégio, isso não os levará a nos apedrejar?
27 A journey of three days, must we go, in the desert,then will we sacrifice to Yahweh our God, as, Yahweh, hath said unto us.
27 Faremos três dias de viagem no deserto, e ofereceremos sacrifícios ao Senhor nosso Deus, como ele nos ordena. "
28 Then said Pharaoh: I, will let you goso shall ye sacrifice to Yahweh your God in the desert, only ye shall not go a, very long, journey,make ye entreaty for me.
28 Disse o faraó: "Eu os deixarei ir e oferecer sacrifícios ao Senhor seu Deus no deserto, mas não se afastem muito e orem por mim também".
29 And Moses said: Lo! I, am going out from thee and will make entreaty unto Yahweh, so will he take away the gad-flyfrom Pharaoh from his servants, and from his people tomorrow,only let not Pharaoh again deceive, in not letting the people go, to sacrifice to Yahweh.
29 Moisés respondeu: "Assim que sair da tua presença, orarei ao Senhor, e amanhã os enxames de moscas deixarão o faraó, teus conselheiros e teu povo. Que somente o faraó não volte a agir com falsidade, impedindo que o povo vá oferecer sacrifícios ao Senhor".
30 So Moses went out from Pharaoh,and made entreaty unto Yahweh.
30 Então Moisés saiu da presença do faraó e orou ao Senhor,
31 And Yahweh did according to the word of Moses, and took away the gad-fly, from Pharaoh from his servants and from his people,there remained not, one.
31 e o Senhor atendeu o seu pedido: as moscas deixaram o faraó, seus conselheiros e seu povo; não restou uma só mosca.
32 And Pharaoh made his heart dull, this time also,and did not let the people go.
32 Mas também dessa vez o faraó obstinou-se em seu coração e não deixou que o povo saísse.
