1 Then said Yahweh unto MosesSee! I have appointed thee to be God unto Pharaoh,and, Aaron thy brother, shall be thy prophet!
1 Então o S enhor disse a Moisés: “Preste atenção ao que vou dizer. Eu o farei parecer Deus para o faraó, e Arão, seu irmão, será seu profeta.
2 Thou, shalt speak all that which I may command thee, and, Aaron thy brother, shall speak unto Pharaoh, and he shall let the sons of Israel go out of his land.
2 Diga a Arão tudo que eu lhe ordenar, e Arão mandará o faraó deixar o povo de Israel sair de sua terra.
3 But, I, will suffer Pharaoh to harden his heart,so will I multiply my signs and my wonders in the land of Egypt.
3 Contudo, endurecerei o coração do faraó e depois multiplicarei meus sinais e maravilhas na terra do Egito.
4 And Pharaoh will not hearken unto you, so will I lay my hand on Egypt,and bring forth my hostsmy people the sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt, with great judgments.
4 Mesmo assim, o faraó se recusará a ouvi-lo, de modo que farei minha mão pesar sobre o Egito. Então resgatarei meu exército — meu povo, os israelitas — da terra do Egito com grandes atos de julgamento.
5 And the Egyptians shall know that I, am Yahweh, when I have stretched forth my hand over Egypt,and brought forth the sons of Israel out of their midst.
5 Quando eu levantar minha mão e tirar os israelitas do meio deles, os egípcios saberão que eu sou o S enhor ”.
6 And Moses and Aaron did ,as Yahweh commanded them, so, did they.
6 Moisés e Arão fizeram conforme o S enhor lhes ordenou.
7 Now Moses, was eighty years old, and, Aaron, eighty-three years old,when they spake unto Pharaoh.
7 Quando falaram com o faraó, Moisés tinha 80 anos, e Arão, 83.
8 And Yahweh spake unto Moses and unto Aaron saying:
8 O S enhor disse a Moisés e a Arão:
9 When Pharaoh shall speak unto you saying, Shew for yourselves a wonder, then shalt thou say unto Aaron, Take thy staff, and cast it down before Pharaoh let it become a sea-serpent.
9 “O faraó exigirá: ‘Mostre-me um milagre’. Quando ele o fizer, diga a Arão: ‘Tome sua vara e jogue-a no chão, na frente do faraó, e ela se transformará numa serpente’”.
10 So Moses and Aaron went in unto Pharaoh, and did so as Yahweh had commanded,and Aaron cast down his staff before Pharaoh and before his servants and it became a sea-serpent,
10 Então Moisés e Arão foram ver o faraó e fizeram conforme o S enhor havia ordenado. Arão jogou a vara no chão, diante do faraó e de seus oficiais, e ela se transformou numa serpente.
11 Then called Pharaoh also for the wise men and for the magicians,and they too, the sacred scribes of Egypt with their secret arts, did in like manner;
11 O faraó mandou chamar seus sábios e feiticeiros e, por meio de suas artes mágicas, esses magos egípcios fizeram a mesma coisa:
12 yea they cast down each man his staff, and they became sea-serpents,but Aarons staff swallowed up their staves.
12 jogaram suas varas no chão, e elas também se transformaram em serpentes. Mas a vara de Arão engoliu as varas dos magos.
13 Then waxed bold the heart of Pharaoh, and he hearkened not unto them,as spake Yahweh.
13 O coração do faraó, porém, permaneceu endurecido. Ele continuou se recusando a ouvir, exatamente como o S enhor tinha dito.
14 Then said Yahweh unto Moses, Dull, is the heart of Pharaoh,he hath refused to let the people go.
14 O S enhor disse a Moisés: “O coração do faraó é duro, e ele continua se recusando a deixar o povo sair.
15 Get thee unto Pharaoh in the morninglo! he is coming out to the waters, therefore shalt thou station thyself to meet him on the bank of the river,and the staff which was turned into a serpent, shalt thou take in thy hand.
15 Portanto, vá ao faraó pela manhã, quando ele estiver descendo até o rio. Pare à margem do Nilo e encontre-se com ele ali. Não se esqueça de levar a vara que se transformou em serpente.
16 Then shalt thou say unto himYahweh God of the Hebrews hath sent me unto thee saying,Let my people go, that they may serve me in the desert,And lo! thou hast not hearkened hitherto.
16 Então diga-lhe: ‘O S enhor , o Deus dos hebreus, me enviou para lhe falar: ‘Deixe meu povo sair para me adorar no deserto’. Até agora, você se recusou a ouvi-lo,
17 Thus, saith Yahweh, Hereby, shalt thou know that, I, am Yahweh,Lo! I, am smiting with the staff that is in my hand upon the waters that are in the river and they shall be turned to blood;
17 por isso, assim diz o S enhor : ‘Eu lhe mostrarei que sou o S enhor ’. Veja! Com esta vara que tenho na mão, baterei nas águas do Nilo, e elas se transformarão em sangue.
18 and, the fish that is in the river shall die and the river shall be loathsome,and the Egyptians, shall disdain, to drink water out of the river.
18 Os peixes do rio morrerão, e o rio ficará malcheiroso. Os egípcios não poderão beber de sua água’”.
19 And Yahweh said unto Moses,Say unto AaronTake thy staff, and stretch forth thy hand over the waters of Egypt, over their streams over their rivers, and over their pools and over all their collections of waterthat they may become blood,so shall there be blood in all the land of Egypt, both in vessels of wood and in vessels of stone.
19 O S enhor disse a Moisés: “Diga a Arão: ‘Tome sua vara e estenda a mão sobre as águas do Egito, sobre todos os seus rios, canais, açudes e reservatórios. Toda a água se transformará em sangue, até mesmo a água armazenada em vasilhas de madeira e pedra’”.
20 And Moses and Aaron, did so, as Yahweh commanded, and he lifted high the staff, and smote the waters which were in the river, before the eyes of Pharaoh, and before the eyes of his servants,and all the waters which were in the river were turned to blood;
20 Moisés e Arão fizeram conforme o S enhor ordenou. Diante dos olhos do faraó e de todos os seus oficiais, Arão levantou a vara e bateu nas águas do Nilo, e o rio inteiro se transformou em sangue.
21 and the fish that was in the river, died and the river became loathsome, so that the Egyptians could not drink water out of the river,thus came it to pass that blood was in all the land of Egypt.
21 Os peixes do rio morreram, e a água ficou tão malcheirosa que os egípcios não podiam bebê-la. Havia sangue em toda a terra do Egito.
22 And the sacred scribes of Egypt did in like manner with their secret arts,so the heart of Pharaoh waxed bold and he hearkened not unto them, as spake Yahweh.
22 Mais uma vez, porém, os magos do Egito usaram sua mágica e também transformaram água em sangue, e o coração do faraó continuou endurecido. Ele se recusou a ouvir Moisés e Arão, como o S enhor tinha dito.
23 Then Pharaoh, turned away, and entered into his houseneither applied he his heart, even to this.
23 O faraó voltou para seu palácio e não pensou mais no assunto.
24 And all the Egyptians digged round about the river for water to drink,for they could not drink of the water of the river.
24 Todos os egípcios cavaram às margens do rio para encontrar água potável, pois não podiam beber da água do Nilo.
25 And seven days were fulfilled,after Yahweh had smitten the river.
25 Sete dias se passaram desde o momento em que o S enhor feriu o Nilo.
