Rotherham Version (ROTH) vs NVT
1 When a man stealeth an ox or a sheep, and slayeth it, or selleth it, with five of the herd, shall he make goodfor the ox, or with four of the flock, for the sheep.
1 “Se alguém roubar um boi ou uma ovelha e matar o animal ou vendê-lo, o ladrão pagará cinco bois para cada boi roubado e quatro ovelhas para cada ovelha roubada.
2 If, in the place of breaking in, the thief be found and he is smitten so that he dieth, there is due for him no shedding of blood:
2 “Se um ladrão for pego em flagrante arrombando uma casa e for ferido e morto no confronto, a pessoa que matou o ladrão não será culpada de homicídio.
3 should the sun have arisen upon him, there would be shedding of blood due for him,he is surely to make restitution, if he hath nothing, then is he to be sold, for his theft.
3 Mas, se isso acontecer durante o dia, a pessoa que matou o ladrão será culpada de homicídio. “O ladrão que for pego restituirá o valor total daquilo que roubou. Se não puder restituir o valor, será vendido como escravo para pagar pelos bens roubados.
4 If the thing stolen is found in his handwhether ox or ass or sheep, alive, with two, shall he make restitution.
4 Se alguém roubar um boi, um jumento ou uma ovelha e o animal for encontrado vivo, em poder do ladrão, ele pagará o dobro do valor do animal roubado.
5 When a man causeth a field or a vineyard to be depastured, or hath sent in his own cattle and stripped the field of another, he shall, surely make restitution, out of his own field, according to the yield thereof; or if, all the field, he depasture, with the best of his own field, or with the best of his own vineyard, shall he make restitution.
5 “Se um animal estiver pastando no campo ou na videira e o dono o soltar para pastar no campo de outra pessoa, o dono do animal entregará como indenização o melhor de seus cereais ou de suas uvas.
6 When a fire breaketh out and hath come upon thorns and so there is consumed a stack of sheaves, or the standing corn, or the field, he that kindled the fire, shall surely make restitution.
6 “Se alguém estiver queimando espinheiros e o fogo se espalhar para o campo de outra pessoa e destruir o cereal já colhido, ou a plantação pronta para a colheita, ou a lavoura inteira, aquele que começou o fogo pagará por todo o prejuízo.
7 When a man giveth unto his neighbour silver or jewelry, to keep, and it is stolen out of the house of the man:
7 “Se alguém entregar valores ou bens a um vizinho para que este os guarde e eles forem roubados da casa do vizinho, o ladrão, se for pego, restituirá o dobro do valor dos itens roubados.
8 if the thief be found, he shall give in restitution double, if the thief be not found, then shall the owner of the house be brought near unto God to swear that he hath not laid his hand on the property of his neighbour.
8 Mas, se o ladrão não for pego, o dono da casa comparecerá diante dos juízes para que se determine se foi ele quem roubou os bens.
9 For any affair of trespassfor an ox, for an ass, for a sheep, for a mantle for anything lost as to which one could sayThis is it, unto God, shall come the affair of them both,he whom God shall condemn, shall make restitution of double to his neighbour.
9 “Em qualquer caso de disputa entre vizinhos em que ambos afirmem ser donos de determinado boi, jumento, ovelha, peça de roupa ou objeto perdido, as duas partes comparecerão diante dos juízes, e a pessoa que eles considerarem culpada pagará o dobro à outra.
10 When a man delivereth unto his neighbour, an ass, or an ox or a sheep, or any beast, to keep,and it dieth or is fractured, or is driven away, no one beholding,
10 “Se alguém deixar um jumento, um boi, uma ovelha ou outro animal sob os cuidados de outra pessoa e o animal morrer, for ferido ou levado embora, e ninguém vir o que aconteceu,
11 the oath of Yahweh, shall come between them both, That he hath not laid his hand on the property of his neighbour,then shall the owner thereof accept it and he shall not make restitution.
11 a pessoa que estava cuidando do animal fará diante do S enhor um juramento de que não roubou o animal; o dono aceitará o juramento e não será exigido pagamento algum.
12 But, if it be verily stolen, from him, he shall make restitution to the owner thereof.
12 Mas, se o animal for roubado do vizinho, ele indenizará o dono.
13 If it be, verily torn in pieces, he shall bring it in as a witnessfor that which was torn, he shall not make restitution.
13 Se tiver sido despedaçado por um animal selvagem, o que restou da carcaça será apresentado como prova, e não será exigido pagamento algum.
14 And when a man asketh aught of his neighbour, and it is fractured or dieth, its owner, not being with it, he shall, surely make restitution.
14 “Se alguém pedir um animal emprestado ao vizinho e o animal for ferido ou morrer na ausência do dono, a pessoa que pediu o animal emprestado indenizará o dono totalmente.
15 If, its owner, was with it, he shall not make restitution,if it is, hired, it cometh into its hire.
15 Mas, se o dono estiver presente, não será exigido pagamento algum. Também não será exigida indenização alguma se o animal tiver sido alugado, pois o valor do aluguel cobrirá a perda.”
16 And, when a man enticeth a virgin who is not betrothed, and lieth with her, he shall, surely pay a purchase-price, that she may be his wife.
16 “Se um homem seduzir uma moça virgem que não esteja comprometida e tiver relações sexuais com ela, pagará à família dela o preço costumeiro do dote e se casará com ela.
17 If her father utterly refuse, to give her to him, silver, shall he weigh out, according to the purchase-price of virgins.
17 Mas, se o pai da moça não permitir o casamento, o homem lhe pagará o equivalente ao dote de uma virgem.
18 A sorceress, shalt thou not suffer to live.
18 “Não deixe que a feiticeira viva.
19 Whosoever lieth with a beast shall surely be put to death.
19 “Quem tiver relações sexuais com um animal certamente será executado.
20 He that sacrificeth to the gods shall be devoted to destruction,except to Yahweh alone.
20 “Quem sacrificar a qualquer outro deus além do S enhor será destruído.
21 And, a sojourner, shalt thou not tread down neither shalt thou drive him away,for sojourners, ye became in the land of Egypt.
21 “Não maltrate nem oprima os estrangeiros. Lembre-se de que vocês também foram estrangeiros na terra do Egito.
22 Neither widow nor fatherless, shalt thou humiliate:
22 “Não explore a viúva nem o órfão.
23 if thou, do humiliate, him, when he in anywise crieth out unto me, I will, surely hear, his outcry:
23 Se você os explorar e eles clamarem a mim, certamente ouvirei seu clamor.
24 so shall kindle mine anger, and I will slay you with the sword,and your wives, shall become widows, and your, sons fatherless.
24 Minha ira se acenderá contra você e o matarei pela espada. Então sua esposa ficará viúva e seus filhos ficarão órfãos.
25 If, silver, thou wilt lend unto my peopleunto the humbled one by thee, thou shalt not be to him like one that lendeth on interest,thou shalt not lay upon him interest.
25 “Se você emprestar dinheiro a alguém do meu povo que esteja necessitado, não cobre juros visando lucro, como fazem os credores.
26 If thou, do take in pledge, the mantle of thy neighbour, by the going in of the sun, shalt thou restore it to him;
26 Se tomar a capa do seu próximo como garantia para um empréstimo, devolva-a antes do pôr do sol.
27 for that is his only covering, that, is his mantle, for his skin,wherein shall he sleep? and it shall come to pass when he maketh outcry unto me, then will I hear because, gracious, I am.
27 Talvez a capa seja a única coberta que ele tem para se aquecer. Como ele poderá dormir sem ela? Se não a devolver e se o seu próximo pedir socorro a mim, eu o ouvirei, pois sou misericordioso.
28 God, shalt thou not revile,and a prince among thy people, shalt thou not curse.
28 “Não blasfeme contra Deus nem amaldiçoe as autoridades do seu povo.
29 Thy fulness and thine outflow, shalt thou not delay,the firstborn of thy sons, shalt thou give to me.
29 “Quando entregar as ofertas das colheitas, do vinho e do azeite, não retenha coisa alguma. “Consagre a mim seu primeiro filho.
30 Thus, shalt thou do with thine ox with thy sheep, a seven days, shall it be with its dam, on the eighth day, shalt thou give it to me.
30 “Também entregue a mim os machos das primeiras crias das vacas, das ovelhas e das cabras. Deixe o animal com a mãe por sete dias e, no oitavo, entregue-o a mim.
31 Holy men, therefore shall ye truly become to me,and flesh in the field torn to pieces, shall ye not eat, to the dogs, shall ye cast it.
31 “Vocês serão meu povo santo. Por isso, não comam a carne de animais despedaçados e mortos por feras no campo; joguem a carne para os cães.”
