1 Then turned we, and set forward towards the desert by way of the Red Sea, as Yahweh, spake unto me; and we encompassed Mount Seir many days.
1 Depois viramo-nos, e caminhamos para o deserto, pelo caminho do Mar Vermelho, como o Senhor me tinha dito, e por muitos dias rodeamos o monte Seir.
2 And Yahweh spake unto me, saying:
2 Então o Senhor me disse:
3 Long enough, have ye encompassed this mountain,turn yourselves north, wards.
3 Basta de rodeardes este monte; virai-vos para o norte.
4 And, the people, command thou saying, Ye are about to pass through the boundary of your brethren the sons of Esau, who are dwelling in Seir,and should they he afraid of you, take ye good heed to yourselves:
4 Dá ordem ao povo, dizendo: Haveis de passar pelo território de vossos irmãos, os filhos de Esaú, que habitam em Seir; e eles terão medo de vós. Portanto guardai-vos bem;
5 do not engage in strife with them, for I will not give you of their land, so much as place for the tread of a foot-sole,for as a possession to Esau, have I given Mount Seir.
5 não contendais com eles, porque não vos darei da sua terra nem sequer o que pisar a planta de um pé; porquanto a Esaú dei o monte Seir por herança.
6 Food, shall ye buy of them with silver so shall ye eat,yea even water, shall ye buy of them with silver so shall ye drink.
6 Comprareis deles por dinheiro mantimento para comerdes, como também comprareis deles água para beberdes.
7 For Yahweh thy God, hath blessed thee in all the work of thy hand, he hath considered thy traversing of this great desert,these forty years, hath Yahweh thy God been with thee, thou hast lacked, nothing.
7 Pois o Senhor teu Deus te há abençoado em toda obra das tuas mãos; ele tem conhecido o teu caminho por este grande deserto; estes quarenta anos o Senhor teu Deus tem estado contigo; nada te há faltado.
8 So we passed on, a way from our brethren the sons of Esau who dwell in Seir, from the way of the waste plain, from Elath, and from Ezion-geber,and we turned and passed on by way of the desert of Moab.
8 Assim, pois, passamos por nossos irmãos, os filhos de Esaú, que habitam em Seir, desde o caminho da Arabá de Elate e de Eziom-Geber: Depois nos viramos e passamos pelo caminho do deserto de Moabe.
9 And Yahweh said unto meDo not lay siege to Moab, nor engage in strife with them in battle,for I will not give unto thee of his and as a possession, for unto the sons of Lot, have I given Ar, as a possession.
9 Então o Senhor me disse: Não molestes aos de Moabe, e não contendas com eles em peleja, porque nada te darei da sua terra por herança; porquanto dei Ar por herança aos filhos de Ló.
10 the Emim, formerly dwelt therein,a people great and many and tall, like the Anakim.
10 {Antes haviam habitado nela os emins, povo grande e numeroso, e alto como os anaquins;
11 Giants, used, they also, to be accounted like the Anakim,but the Moabites, called them Emim.
11 eles também são considerados refains como os anaquins; mas os moabitas lhes chamam emins.
12 And in Seir, dwelt the Horim aforetime, but, the sons of Esau, dispossessed them, and destroyed them from before them, and dwelt in their stead,as did Israel unto the land of his own possession, which Yahweh had given unto them.
12 Outrora os horeus também habitaram em Seir; porém os filhos de Esaú os desapossaram, e os destruíram de diante de si, e habitaram no lugar deles, assim come Israel fez à terra da sua herança, que o Senhor lhe deu.}
13 Now, arise, and pass ye over the ravine of Zered. So we passed over the ravine of Zered.
13 Levantai-vos agora, e passai o ribeiro de Zerede. Passamos, pois, o ribeiro de Zerede.
14 Now, the days in which we journeyed from Kadesh-barnea, as far as where we crossed the ravine of Zered, were thirty-eight years,until all the generation of the men of war were consumed out of the midst of the camp, as Yahweh had sworn unto them.
14 E os dias que caminhamos, desde Cades-Barnéia até passarmos o ribeiro de Zerede, foram trinta e oito anos, até que toda aquela geração dos homens de guerra se consumiu do meio do arraial, como o Senhor lhes jurara.
15 Yea, even the hand of Yahweh was against them, to destroy them out of the midst of the camp,until they were consumed.
15 Também foi contra eles a mão do Senhor, para os destruir do meio do arraial, até os haver consumido.
16 So it came to pass when all the men of war were consumed by dying, out of the midst of the people,
16 Ora, sucedeu que, sendo já consumidos pela morte todos os homens de guerra dentre o povo,
17 then spake Yahweh unto me, saying:
17 o Senhor me disse:
18 Thou, art passing, to-day, the boundary of Moab even Ar;
18 Hoje passarás por Ar, o limite de Moabe;
19 so wilt thou draw near over against the sons of Ammon, do not thou besiege them neither engage in strife with them,for I will not give of the land of the sons of Ammon unto thee as a possession, for unto the sons of Lot, have I given it as a possession.
19 e quando chegares defronte dos amonitas, não os molestes, e com eles não contendas, porque nada te darei da terra dos amonitas por herança; porquanto aos filhos de Ló a dei por herança.
20 A land of giants, used, that also, to be accounted,giants, dwelt therein aforetime, but the Ammonites, called them Zamzummim:
20 {Também essa é considerada terra de refains; outrora habitavam nela refains, mas os amonitas lhes chamam zanzumins,
21 a people great and many and tall, like the Anakim,but Yahweh destroyed them from before them, and they took their possessions, and dwelt in their stead:
21 povo grande e numeroso, e alto como os anaquins; mas o Senhor os destruiu de diante dos amonitas; e estes, tendo-os desapossado, habitaram no lugar deles;
22 as he did for the sons of Esau, who are dwelling in Seir,when he destroyed the Horim from before them, and they took their possessions and have dwelt in their stead, even unto this day.
22 assim como fez pelos filhos de Esaú, que habitam em Seir, quando de diante deles destruiu os horeus; e os filhos de Esaú, havendo-os desapossado, habitaram no lugar deles até hoje.
23 The Avvim also, who dwelt in settlements as far as Gaza, Caphtorim, who were coming forth out of Caphtor, destroyed them, and dwelt in their stead.
23 Também os caftorins, que saíram de Caftor, destruíram os aveus, que habitavam em aldeias até Gaza, e habitaram no lugar deles.}
24 Arise ye, set forward and cross over the ravine of Arnon, see! I have given into thy handSihon king of Heshbon, the Amorite and his land, begintake possession,and engage in strife with him in battle.
24 Levantai-vos, parti e passai o ribeiro de Arnom; eis que entreguei nas tuas mãos a Siom, o amorreu, rei de Hesbom, e à sua terra; começa a te apoderares dela, contendendo com eles em peleja.
25 This day, will I begin to extend the dread of thee and the fear of thee over the face of the peoples under all the heavens,who will hear the report of thee, then will they quake and writhe in pain because of thee.
25 Neste dia começarei a meter terror e medo de ti aos povos que estão debaixo de todo o céu; os quais, ao ouvirem a tua fama, tremerão e se angustiarão por causa de ti.
26 So I sent messengers out of the desert of Kademoth, unto Sihon, king of Heshbon,with words of peace saying:
26 Então, do deserto de Quedemote, mandei mensageiros a Siom, rei de Hesbom, com palavras de paz, dizendo:
27 I would pass along through thy land, by the road, by the road, will I go,I will not turn aside, to the right hand or to the left:
27 Deixa-me passar pela tua terra; somente pela estrada irei, não me desviando nem para a direita nem para a esquerda.
28 Food for silver, shalt thou sell me so will I eat, and water for silver, shalt thou let me have, so will I drink,only I would pass through on my feet;
28 Por dinheiro me venderás mantimento, para que eu coma; e por dinheiro me darás a água, para que eu beba. Tão-somente deixa-me passar a pé,
29 as the sons of Esau, who are dwelling in Seir, did to me, and the Moabites who are dwelling in Ar,until that I pass over the Jordan, into the land which, Yahweh our God, is giving unto us.
29 assim como me fizeram os filhos de Esaú, que habitam em Seir, e os moabitas que habitam em Ar; até que eu passe o Jordão para a terra que o Senhor nosso Deus nos dá.
30 But Sihon king of Heshbon, was not willing, to let us pass along through it,for Yahweh thy God had suffered him to make his spirit harsh and his heart bold, that he might give him into thy hand(as this day).
30 Mas Siom, rei de Hesbom, não nos quis deixar passar por sua terra, porquanto o Senhor teu Deus lhe endurecera o espírito, e lhe fizera obstinado o coração, para to entregar nas mãos, como hoje se vê.
31 Then said Yahweh unto me, See! I have begun to deliver up before thee Sihon and his land,begin take possession, that thou mayest make a possession of his land.
31 Disse-me, pois, o Senhor: Eis aqui, comecei a entregar-te Siom e a sua terra; começa, pois, a te apoderares dela, para possuíres a sua terra por herança.
32 So then Sihon came out to meet us he, and all his people, to give battle at Jahaz.
32 Então Siom nos saiu ao encontro, ele e todo o seu povo, à peleja, em Jaza;
33 And Yahweh our God delivered him up before us,and we smote him and his sons, and all his people
33 e o Senhor nosso Deus no-lo entregou, e o ferimos a ele, e a seus filhos, e a todo o seu povo.
34 And we captured all his cities, at that time, and devoted to destruction every city of males, with the women and the little ones,we left not remaining a survivor:
34 Também naquele tempo lhe tomamos todas as cidades, e fizemos perecer a todos, homens, mulheres e pequeninos, não deixando sobrevivente algum;
35 only the cattle, made we our prey,and the spoil of the cities which we captured.
35 somente tomamos por presa o gado para nós, juntamente com o despojo das cidades que havíamos tomado.
36 From Aroer, which is on the edge of the ravine of Arnon and the city that is in the ravine even as far as Gilead, there was not a fortress that proved too high for us,the whole, did Yahweh our God deliver up before us.
36 Desde Aroer, que está à borda do vale do Arnom, e desde a cidade que está no vale, até Gileade, nenhuma cidade houve tão alta que de nós escapasse; tudo o Senhor nosso Deus no-lo entregou.
37 Only unto the land of the sons of Ammon, didst thou not come near,all the side of the Jabbok ravine, nor the cities of the hill country, nor any which Yahweh our God had forbidden to us.
37 Somente à terra dos amonitas não chegastes, nem a parte alguma da borda do ribeiro de Jaboque, nem a cidade alguma da região montanhosa, nem a coisa alguma que o Senhor nosso Deus proibira.
