1 Thus, saith Yahweh, Because of three transgressions of Moab, and because of four, will I not turn it back,Because he burned the bones of the King of Edom to lime,
1 Assim diz o S enhor : “Os habitantes de Moabe pecaram repetidamente; não deixarei que fiquem impunes! Queimaram os ossos do rei de Edom até reduzi-los a cinzas.
2 Therefore will I send a fire into Moab, which shall devour the palaces of Keriothand Moab, shall die with tumult, with war- cry, with the sound of a horn;
2 Por isso enviarei fogo sobre a terra de Moabe, e as fortalezas de Queriote serão destruídas. Os que habitam nela cairão em meio ao ruído da batalha, aos gritos dos guerreiros e ao som da trombeta.
3 And I will cut off the judge out of her midst, and, all her rulers, will I slay with him, saith Yahweh.
3 Destruirei seu rei e matarei seus príncipes”, diz o S
4 Thus, saith Yahweh, Because of three transgressions of Judah, and because of four, will I not turn it back,Because they have rejected the law of Yahweh, and, his statutes, have not kept, but their falsehoods, have led them astray, after the which their fathers, did walk,
4 Assim diz o S enhor : “Os habitantes de Judá pecaram repetidamente; não deixarei que fiquem impunes! Rejeitaram a lei do S e não obedeceram a seus decretos. Foram desviados pelas mesmas mentiras que enganaram seus antepassados.
5 Therefore will I send a fire upon Judah,which shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem.
5 Por isso enviarei fogo sobre Judá, e as fortalezas de Jerusalém serão destruídas”.
6 Thus, saith Yahweh, Because of three transgressions of Israel, and because of four, will I not turn it back,Because they have soldfor silverthe righteous, and the needyfor a pair of shoes:
6 Assim diz o S enhor : “Os habitantes de Israel pecaram repetidamente; não deixarei que fiquem impunes! Vendem por prata o justo e, por um par de sandálias, o pobre.
7 Who strive to bring the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, and, the way of the oppressed, they pervert,Yea, a man and his own father, go in unto the maid, to profane my holy Name!
7 Pisoteiam a cabeça dos indefesos no pó e empurram os oprimidos para fora do caminho. Pai e filho dormem com a mesma mulher e assim profanam meu santo nome.
8 And, on pledged garments, they recline, beside every altar,and, exacted wine, do they drink, in the house of their God.
8 Aos pés dos altares reclinam-se com roupas que seus devedores lhes deram como garantia. Na casa de seus deuses, bebem vinho comprado com multas injustas.
9 Yet it was, I, who destroyed the Amorite, from before them, whose height was, like the height of cedars, and, strong, was he, like the oaks,but I destroyed his fruit above, and his roots beneath.
9 “Diante dos olhos de meu povo, destruí os amorreus, embora fossem altos como cedros e fortes como carvalhos. Destruí os frutos de seus galhos e arranquei suas raízes.
10 And it was, I, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt,and led you in the desert, forty years, to take possession of the land of the Amorites;
10 Trouxe vocês do Egito e os guiei quarenta anos pelo deserto, para que possuíssem a terra dos amorreus.
11 And I raised up, of your sons, for prophets, and, of your young men, for Nazirites,Was it not even so, ye sons of Israel? Demandeth Yahweh;
11 Escolhi alguns de seus filhos para serem profetas e outros, para serem nazireus. Acaso podem negar isso, israelitas?”, diz o S
12 And yet ye caused the Nazirites to drink wine,and, on the prophet, laid ye command, saying, Ye shall not prophesy!
12 “Mas vocês deram vinho para os nazireus beberem e ordenaram a seus profetas: ‘Chega de profecias!’.
13 Lo! I, am pressed under you,as a full cart is pressed by its sheaves,
13 “Por isso eu os esmagarei, como uma carroça sobrecarregada de trigo amassa a terra.
14 Therefore shall flight, perish, from the swift, and, the mighty, shall not invigorate his strength,nor shall, the hero, escape with his life;
14 O que corre mais rápido não escapará, o mais forte em seu meio se enfraquecerá, nem o guerreiro valente se salvará.
15 Nor, he that handleth the bow, make a stand, and, the swift on his feet, shall not escape,nor, he that rideth on a horse, escape with his life:
15 O arqueiro não manterá sua posição, o corredor mais veloz não conseguirá escapar, nem o que estiver a cavalo se salvará.
16 Nay, he that is stout in his heart, among heroes, naked, shall flee, in that day, Declareth Yahweh.
16 Naquele dia, seus guerreiros mais corajosos largarão as armas e fugirão”, diz o S
