1 The words of Amos, who was among the herdmen of Tekoa,of which (words) he had vision concerning Israel, in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam son of Joash, king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.
1 Oráculos de Amós, que foi um dos pastores de Técua. Revelações que recebeu acerca de Israel no tempo de Ozias, rei de Judá, e de Jeroboão, filho de Joás, rei de Israel, dois anos antes do tremor de terra.
2 So then he saidYahweh, out of Zion, will roar, and, out of Jerusalem, will utter his voice,and the pastures of the shepherds, shall mourn, and the top of Carmel, be dried up.
2 Ele diz: O Senhor rugirá de Sião, trovejará de Jerusalém; os prados dos pastores estarão de luto, o cume do Carmelo secará.
3 Thus, saith Yahweh, Because of three transgressions of Damascus, and because of four, will I not turn it back,Because, with threshing instruments of iron, they have threshed Gilead.
3 Oráculo do Senhor: Por causa do triplo e do quádruplo crime de Damasco, não mudarei meu decreto. Porque esmagaram Galaad com grades de ferro,
4 Therefore will send a fire, into the house of Hazael,which shall devour the palaces of Ben- hadad;
4 porei fogo à casa de Hazael, e esse fogo devorará os palácios de Ben-Hadad.
5 And I will break the bolt of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant out of the plain of Aven, and the holder of the sceptre out of the house of Eden,and the people of Syria, shall be exiled, unto Kir, saith Yahweh.
5 Quebrarei os ferrolhos de Damasco, exterminarei os habitantes de Biqat-Aven e o que tem na mão o cetro em Bet-Eden. E o povo da Síria será deportado para Quir, diz o Senhor.
6 Thus, saith Yahweh, Because of three transgressions of Gaza, and because of four, will I not turn it back,Because of their taking into exile the whole body of exiles, to deliver to Edom,
6 Oráculo do Senhor: Por causa do triplo e do quádruplo crime de Gaza, não mudarei meu decreto. Porque deportaram uma multidão de exilados, para entregá-los a Edom,
7 Therefore will I send a fire upon the wall of Gaza,which shall devour the palaces thereof;
7 porei fogo aos muros de Gaza, e esse fogo devorará os seus palácios.
8 And I will cut off the inhabitant out of Ashdod, and the holder of the sceptre out of Ashkelon,and will turn my hand against Ekron, So shall perish the remnant of the Philistines, saith My Lord, Yahweh.
8 Exterminarei os habitantes de Azot, e o que tem na mão o cetro em Ascalon. Voltarei minha mão contra Acaron para aniquilar o resto dos filisteus, diz o Senhor Javé.
9 Thus, saith Yahweh, Because of three transgressions of Tyre, and because of four, will I not turn it back,Because of their delivering up the whole body of exiles to Edom, and they remembered not the brotherly covenant,
9 Oráculo do Senhor: Por causa do triplo e do quádruplo crime de Tiro, não mudarei meu decreto. Porque entregaram uma multidão de cativos a Edom, e não se lembraram do pacto fraterno,
10 Therefore will I send a fire upon the wall of Tyre,which shall devour the palaces thereof.
10 porei fogo aos muros de Tiro para que esse fogo devore os seus palácios.
11 Thus, saith Yahweh, Because of three transgressions of Edom, and because of four, will I not turn it back,Because he pursued, with the sword, his brother, and stifled his compassions, and his anger tare in pieces evermore, and, his indignation, kept watch perpetually,
11 Oráculo do Senhor: Por causa do triplo e do quádruplo crime de Edom, não mudarei meu decreto. Porque perseguiu seu irmão com a espada abafando toda a compaixão, e porque sua cólera não cessa de despedaçar, e persiste em guardar perpetuamente rancor,
12 Therefore will I send a fire into Teman,which shall devour the palaces of Bozrah.
12 porei fogo em Temã, o qual devorará os palácios de Bosra.
13 Thus, saith Yahweh, Because of three transgressions of the sons of Ammon, and because of four, will I not turn it back,Because of their ripping up the pregnant women of Gilead, that they might enlarge their own boundary,
13 Oráculo do Senhor: Por causa do triplo e do quádruplo crime dos amonitas, não mudarei meu decreto. Porque rasgaram os ventres das mulheres grávidas de Galaad, a fim de dilatar suas fronteiras,
14 Therefore will I kindle a fire upon the wall of Rabbah, which shall devour the palaces thereof,with a war-cry in the day of battle, with tempest in the day of storm-wind;
14 porei fogo aos muros de Rabá, para que devore seus palácios. Em meio aos gritos de guerra no dia da batalha, no meio do turbilhão, no dia da tempestade,
15 And Milcom shall go into exile,he and his rulers together, saith Yahweh.
15 seu rei irá para o exílio com seus chefes, diz o Senhor.
