1 And it came to pass, after this, that David smote the Philistines, and subdued them,and David took the bridle of the metropolis, out of the hand of the Philistines.
1 Depois disso, Davi derrotou os filisteus e os subjugou, e tirou do controle deles Metegue-Amá.
2 And he smote Moab, and measured them with the line casting, them down to the ground, and be measured with two lines to put to death, and with one full line to keep alive,so the Moabites became Davids, as servants, bringing gifts.
2 Davi derrotou também os moabitas. Ele os fez deitarem-se no chão e mandou que os medissem com uma corda; os moabitas que ficavam dentro das duas primeiras medidas da corda foram mortos, mas os que ficavam dentro da terceira foram poupados. Assim, os moabitas ficaram sujeitos a Davi, pagando-lhe impostos.
3 And David smote Hadadezer son of Rehob, king of Zobah,when he went to lay his hand on the River Euphrates.
3 Além disso, Davi derrotou Hadadezer, filho de Reobe, rei de Zobá, quando Hadadezer tentava recuperar o controle na região do rio Eufrates.
4 And David captured from him, a thousand and seven hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen,and David destroyed all the chariots, but reserved of them, a hundred chariots.
4 Davi se apossou de mil dos seus carros de guerra, sete mil cavaleiros e vinte mil soldados de infantaria. Ainda levou cem cavalos de carros de guerra, e aleijou todos o outros.
5 And, when the Syrians of Damascus came to help Hadadezer, king of Zobah, David smote of the Syrians, twenty-two thousand men.
5 Quando os arameus de Damasco vieram ajudar Hadadezer, rei de Zobá, Davi matou vinte e dois mil deles.
6 Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus, and the Syrians became Davids, as servants bringing gifts,and so Yahweh gave victory unto David, whithersoever he went.
6 Em seguida estabeleceu guarnições militares no reino dos arameus de Damasco, sujeitando-os a lhe pagarem impostos. E o Senhor dava vitórias a Davi aonde quer que ele fosse.
7 And David took the shields of gold which had come to the servants of Hadadezer,and brought them to Jerusalem;
7 Davi também levou para Jerusalém os escudos de ouro usados pelos oficiais de Hadadezer.
8 also, from Betah and from Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, did King David take bronze, exceeding much.
8 De Tebá e Berotai, cidades que pertenciam a Hadadezer, o rei Davi levou grande quantidade de bronze.
9 And, when Tou king of Hamath heard that David had smitten all the forces of Hadadezer,
9 Quando Toú, rei de Hamate, soube que Davi tinha derrotado todo o exército de Hadadezer,
10 then Tou sent Hadoram his son unto King David, to ask after his welfare, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer and had smitten him, for Hadadezer had had wars with Tou,and, in his hand, were vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and vessels of bronze.
10 enviou seu filho Jorão ao rei Davi para saudá-lo e parabenizá-lo por sua vitória na batalha contra Hadadezer, que tinha estado em guerra com Toú. E, com Jorão, mandou todo tipo de utensílios de prata, de ouro e de bronze.
11 Them also, did King David hallow unto Yahweh,with the silver and the gold which he had hallowed from all the nations which he had subdued:
11 O rei Davi consagrou esses utensílios ao Senhor, como fizera com a prata e com o ouro tomados de todas as nações que havia subjugado:
12 from Syria, and from Moab, and from the sons of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amalek,and from the spoil of Hadadezer son of Rehob, king of Zobah.
12 Edom e Moabe, os amonitas e os filisteus, e Amaleque. Também consagrou os bens tomados de Hadadezer, filho de Reobe, rei de Zobá.
13 And David made a name, when he returned from his smiting of the Syrians in the valley of salt,eighteen thousand.
13 Davi ficou ainda mais famoso ao retornar da batalha em que matou dezoito mil edomitas no vale do Sal.
14 And he put, in Edom, garrisons, throughout all Edom, put be garrisons, and so it was that all Edom became servants unto David,and Yahweh gave victory unto David, whithersoever he went.
14 Ele estabeleceu guarnições militares por todo o território de Edom, sujeitando todos os edomitas. O Senhor dava vitórias a Davi aonde quer que ele fosse.
15 And David reigned over all Israel,and so it was that David used to execute justice and righteousness for all his people;
15 Davi reinou sobre todo o Israel, administrando o direito e a justiça a todo o seu povo.
16 and, Joab, son of Zeruiah, was over the army,and, Jehoshaphat, son of Ahilud, was remembrancer.
16 Joabe, filho de Zeruia, era comandante do exército; Josafá, filho de Ailude, era o arquivista real;
17 And, Zadok, son of Ahitub, and Abimelech, son of Abiathar, were priests,and, Seraiah, was scribe;
17 Zadoque, filho de Aitube, e Aimeleque, filho de Abiatar, eram sacerdotes; Seraías era secretário;
18 and, Benaiah, son of Jehoiadah, was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites,and, the sons of David, became, chief rulers.
18 Benaia, filho de Joiada, comandava os queretitas e os peletitas; e os filhos de Davi eram sacerdotes.
