¹ Twelve years old, was Manasseh when he began to reign, and, fifty-five years, reigned he in Jerusalem,and the name of his mother was Hephzibah.

¹ Manassés tinha doze anos quando começou a reinar, e reinou durante cinqüenta e cinco anos em Jerusalém. Sua mãe chamava-se Hafsiba.

² And he did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh,after the abominable practices of the nations, whom Yahweh had dispossessed from before the sons of Israel.

² Fez o mal aos olhos do Senhor, imitando as abominações dos povos que o Senhor tinha despojado diante dos israelitas.

³ He again built the high places, which Hezekiah his father had destroyed,and reared altars to Baal, and made a Sacred Stem, as did Ahab, king of Israel, and bowed down to all the army of the heavens, and served them.

³ Reconstruiu os lugares altos que seu pai Ezequias tinha destruído, erigiu altares a Baal, esculpiu um ídolo de pau, asserá, semelhante ao que tinha feito Acab, rei de Israel, e prostrou-se diante de todo o exército dos céus, para adorá-lo.

⁴ And he used to build altars in the house of Yahweh,concerning which Yahweh had said,In Jerusalem, will I put my Name.

⁴ Construiu altares no templo do Senhor, do qual o Senhor tinha dito: O meu nome residirá em Jerusalém.

⁵ And he built altars to all the army of the heavens,in the two courts of the house of Yahweh;

⁵ Levantou altares a todo o exército dos céus nos dois átrios do templo do Senhor.

⁶ and caused his son to pass through the fire, and practiced hidden arts and used divination, and dealt with a familiar spirit and wizards,he exceeded in doing the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, provoking to anger;

⁶ Fez passar pelo fogo seu próprio filho; entregou-se à magia, à astrologia, à necromancia e à adivinhação. Multiplicou as ações que ofendem o Senhor, provocando assim a sua ira.

⁷ and he set the image of the Sacred Stem which he had made,in the house, of which Yahweh had said unto David, and unto Solomon his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, will I put my Name, unto times age-abiding;

⁷ A asserá, que ele havia talhado, colocou-a no templo do Senhor, o templo do qual o Senhor dissera a Davi e ao seu filho Salomão: Neste templo e na cidade de Jerusalém, que escolhi dentre todas as tribos de Israel, estabelecerei o meu nome perpetuamente.

⁸ and I will not again let the foot of Israel wander away from the soil which I gave unto their fathers. Only if they take heed to do according to all that I have commanded them, even to the extent of all the law which, my servant Moses, commanded them.

⁸ Não mais permitirei que os israelitas errem fora da terra que dei aos seus pais, contanto que observem cuidadosamente os meus mandamentos e a lei que lhes prescreveu Moisés, meu servo.

⁹ But they hearkened not,and Manasseh led them astray to do the thing that was wicked, more than the nations which Yahweh destroyed from before the sons of Israel.

⁹ Eles, porém, não obedeceram, mas foram seduzidos por Manassés e fizeram pior ainda que os povos que o Senhor tinha aniquilado diante dos israelitas.

¹⁰ Yahweh therefore spake through his servants the prophets saying

¹⁰ O Senhor falou, pois, pela boca de seus servos, os profetas:

¹¹ Because Manasseh king of Judah hath made these abominationshath done that which is wicked, more than all which the Amorites did who were before him, and hath caused, even Judah, to sin with his manufactured gods,

¹¹ Porque Manassés, rei de Judá, cometeu essas abominações, procedendo ainda pior que tudo o que tinham feito outrora os amorreus, e levando, além disso, Judá ao pecado de idolatria,

¹² thereforeThus, saith Yahweh, God of Israel, Behold me! bringing in calamity upon Jerusalem and Judah,that, whosoever heareth thereof, both his ears, will tingle;

¹² por isso, diz o Senhor Deus de Israel, vou fazer cair sobre Jerusalém e Judá calamidades tais que farão retinir os ouvidos dos que ouvirem falar delas.

¹³ And I will stretch over Jerusalem, the line of Samaria, and the plummet of the house of Ahab,and will wipe out Jerusalem, as one wipeth out a dish, wiping it and turning it upside down;

¹³ Passarei sobre Jerusalém o cordão de Samaria, e o nível da casa de Acab; limparei Jerusalém como um prato que se esfrega, virando-o de um lado para o outro.

¹⁴ And will abandon the remnant of mine inheritance, and deliver them into the hand of their enemies,and they shall become a prey and a plunder, to all their enemies:

¹⁴ Abandonarei os restos de minha herança e os entregarei nas mãos dos seus inimigos, aos quais servirão de espólio e de presa,

¹⁵ Because they have done the thing that is wicked in mine eyes, and have become such as to provoke me to anger,from the day when their fathers came forth out of Egypt, even until this day.

¹⁵ porque fizeram o mal diante de mim e não cessaram de me irritar, desde o dia em que seus pais saíram do Egito até hoje.

¹⁶ Moreover also, innocent blood, did Manasseh shed in great abundance, till he had filled Jerusalem, from one end to the other, besides his committing the sins which he caused, Judah, to commit, in doing the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh.

¹⁶ Manassés derramou também tanto sangue inocente que inundou Jerusalém de uma extremidade à outra, sem falar dos pecados com que tinha feito pecar Judá, levando-o a fazer o mal aos olhos do Senhor.

¹⁷ Now, the rest of the story of Manasseh, and all that he did, and his sin that he committed, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?

¹⁷ O resto da história de Manassés, seus atos e grandes feitos, os pecados que cometeu, tudo se acha consignado no livro das Crônicas dos reis de Judá.

¹⁸ And Manasseh slept with his fathers, and was buried in the garden of his own house, in the garden of Uzza,and, Amon his son, reigned, in his stead.

¹⁸ Manassés adormeceu com seus pais e foi sepultado no jardim de seu palácio, no jardim de Oza. Seu filho Amon sucedeu-lhe no trono.

¹⁹ Twenty-two years old, was Amon when he began to reign, and, two years, reigned he in Jerusalem,and, his mothers name, was Meshullemeth daughter of Haruz, of Jotbah.

¹⁹ Amon tinha vinte e dois anos quando começou a reinar e reinou dois anos em Jerusalém. Sua mãe chamava-se Messalemet, filha de Harus, natural de Jeteba.

²⁰ And he did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh,as did Manasseh his father;

²⁰ Fez o mal aos olhos do Senhor, como seu pai Manassés.

²¹ yea he walked in all the way wherein, his father, had walked,and served the manufactured gods that, his father, had served, and bowed down to them;

²¹ Seguiu todas as pisadas de seu pai, e adorou os ídolos que ele tinha adorado, prostrando-se diante deles.

²² and forsook Yahweh the God of his fathers,and walked not in the way of Yahweh.

²² Abandonou o Senhor, Deus de seus pais, e não andou no caminho do Senhor.

²³ And the servants of Amon, conspired against him,and slew the king in his own house.

²³ Os servos de Amon conspiraram contra ele e assassinaram-no em seu palácio.

²⁴ Then the people of the land smote all who had conspired against King Amon,and the people of the land made, Josiah his son, king, in his stead.

²⁴ O povo, porém, massacrou todos os conjurados e proclamou rei Josias, filho de Amon, em seu lugar.

²⁵ Now, the rest of the story of Amon, what he did, is, it, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?

²⁶ And he was buried in his grave, in the garden of Uzza,and, Josiah his son, reigned, in his stead.
