1 In those days, was Hezekiah sick, unto death,and Isaiah son of Amoz, the prophet, came unto him, and said unto himThus, saith Yahweh Set in order thy house, for, about to die, thou, art, and shalt not recover.
1 Naqueles dias, adoeceu Ezequias de morte; e o profeta Isaías, filho de Amoz, veio a ele e lhe disse: Assim diz o Senhor : Ordena a tua casa, porque morrerás e não viverás.
2 Then he turned his face unto the wall,and prayed unto Yahweh, saying:
2 Então, virou o rosto para a parede e orou ao Senhor , dizendo:
3 I beseech thee, O Yahweh, remember, I pray thee, how I have walked before thee, in truth, and with a whole heart, and, that which is good in thine eyes, have I done! And Hezekiah wept aloud.
3 Ah! Senhor ! Sê servido de te lembrar de que andei diante de ti em verdade e com o coração perfeito e fiz o que era reto aos teus olhos. E chorou Ezequias muitíssimo.
4 And it came to pass that Isaiah, had not gone out into the middle court, when the word of Yahweh came unto him, saying:
4 Sucedeu, pois, que, não havendo Isaías ainda saído do meio do pátio, veio a ele a palavra do Senhor , dizendo:
5 Return, and thou shalt say unto Hezekiah the leader of my peopleThus, saith Yahweh, God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears,Behold me! about to heal thee, On the third day, shalt thou go up unto the house of Yahweh;
5 Volta e dize a Ezequias, chefe do meu povo: Assim diz o Senhor , Deus de Davi, teu pai: Ouvi a tua oração e vi as tuas lágrimas; eis que eu te sararei; ao terceiro dia subirás à Casa do Senhor .
6 And I will add unto thy days, fifteen years, and, out of the hand of the king of Assyria, will I deliver thee, and this city,and will throw a covering over this city, for my own sake, and for the sake of David my servant.
6 E acrescentarei aos teus dias quinze anos e das mãos do rei da Assíria te livrarei, a ti e a esta cidade; e ampararei esta cidade por amor de mim e por amor de Davi, meu servo.
7 And Isaiah saidTake ye a cake of figs. So they took and laid it upon the boil, and he recovered,
7 Disse mais Isaías: Tomai uma pasta de figos. E a tomaram e a puseram sobre a chaga; e ele sarou.
8 Now Hezekiah had said unto Isaiah, What sign is there, that Yahweh will heal me,and that I shall go up on the third day, to the house of Yahweh?
8 E Ezequias disse a Isaías: Qual é o sinal de que o Senhor me sarará e de que, ao terceiro dia, subirei à Casa do Senhor ?
9 And Isaiah said,This unto thee, is the sign from Yahweh, that Yahweh will do the thing which he hath spoken, The shadow hath gone forward ten steps, shall it return ten steps?
9 E disse Isaías: Isto te será sinal, da parte do Senhor , de que o Senhor cumprirá a palavra que disse: Adiantar-se-á a sombra dez graus ou voltará dez graus atrás?
10 And Hezekiah saidIt is, a light thing, for the shadow, to decline ten steps,Nay, but let the shadow go back ten steps.
10 Então, disse Ezequias: É fácil que a sombra decline dez graus; não aconteça isso, mas volte a sombra dez graus.
11 And Isaiah the prophet cried unto Yahweh, and he caused the shadow on the steps by which it had gone down on the steps of Ahaz to go back, ten steps.
11 Então, o profeta Isaías clamou ao Senhor ; e fez voltar a sombra dez graus, pelos graus que já tinha declinado no relógio de sol de Acaz.
12 At that time, Berodach-baladan son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present, unto Hezekiah,for he had heard that Hezekiah had been sick.
12 Naquele tempo, enviou Merodaque-Baladã, filho de Baladã, rei de Babilônia, cartas e um presente a Ezequias; porque ouvira que Ezequias tinha estado doente.
13 And Hezekiah hearkened unto them, and shewed them all his house of precious thingsthe silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious ointment, and his armoury, and all that was found among his treasures,there was, nothing, that Hezekiah shewed them not, in his house or in all his dominion.
13 E Ezequias lhes deu ouvidos e lhes mostrou toda a casa de seu tesouro, a prata, e o ouro, e as especiarias, e os melhores unguentos, e a sua casa de armas, e tudo quanto se achou nos seus tesouros; coisa nenhuma houve que lhes não mostrasse, nem em sua casa, nem em todo o seu domínio.
14 Then came Isaiah the prophet unto King Hezekiah,and said unto himWhat said these men, and from whence came they unto thee? And Hezekiah said, From a land far off, came theyfrom Babylon.
14 Então, o profeta Isaías veio ao rei Ezequias e lhe disse: Que disseram aqueles homens, e de onde vieram a ti? E disse Ezequias: De um país mui remoto vieram, de Babilônia.
15 And he saidWhat have they seen in thy house? Then said HezekiahAll that is in my house, have they seen, there was, nothing, that I shewed them not, among my treasures.
15 E disse ele: Que viram em tua casa? E disse Ezequias: Tudo quanto há em minha casa viram; coisa nenhuma há nos meus tesouros que eu lhes não mostrasse.
16 Then said Isaiah unto Hezekiah,Hear thou the word of Yahweh:
16 Então, disse Isaías a Ezequias: Ouve a palavra do Senhor .
17 Lo! days are coming, when all that is in thine house, and that thy fathers have treasured up, unto this day, shall be carried into Babylon,nothing shall be left, saith Yahweh;
17 Eis que vêm dias em que tudo quanto houver em tua casa, com que entesouraram teus pais até ao dia de hoje, será levado para Babilônia; não ficará coisa alguma, disse o Senhor .
18 and, of thy sons who shall issue from thee, whom thou shalt beget, shall they take away,and they shall become eunuchs, in the palace of the king of Babylon.
18 E ainda até de teus filhos, que procederem de ti, e que tu gerares tomarão, para que sejam eunucos no paço do rei de Babilônia.
19 And Hezekiah said unto IsaiahGood, is the word of Yahweh, which thou hast spoken. And he saidIs it not, that, peace and stability, there shall be in my days?
19 Então, disse Ezequias a Isaías: Boa é a palavra do Senhor que disseste. Disse mais: E não haverá, pois, em meus dias paz e verdade?
20 Now, the rest of the story of Hezekiah, and all his might, and how he made a pool and an aqueduct, and brought water into the city, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?
20 Ora, o mais dos atos de Ezequias, e todo o seu poder, e como fez a piscina e o aqueduto, e como fez vir a água à cidade, porventura, não estão escritos no livro das Crônicas dos Reis de Judá?
21 So Hezekiah slept with his fathers, and, Manasseh his son, reigned, in his stead.
21 E Ezequias dormiu com seus pais; e Manassés, seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.
