1 Moreover we make known unto you, brethren, the favour of God which hath been given in the assemblies of Macedonia,
1 Também, irmãos, vos fazemos conhecer a graça de Deus que foi dada às igrejas da Macedônia;
2 That, in a great testing of tribulation, the superabounding of their joy and their deep destitution, superabounded unto the riches of their liberality;
2 como, em muita prova de tribulação, a abundância do seu gozo e sua profunda pobreza abundaram em riquezas da sua generosidade.
3 That, according to power, I bear witness, and beyond power, of their own accord, ,
3 Porque, dou-lhes testemunho de que, segundo as suas posses, e ainda acima das suas posses, deram voluntariamente,
4 With much exhortation, entreating of us the favour and the fellowship of the ministry which was for the saints;
4 pedindo-nos, com muito encarecimento, o privilégio de participarem deste serviço a favor dos santos;
5 And, not merely as we hoped, but, themselves, gave they, first, unto the Lord and unto us through Gods will,
5 e não somente fizeram como nós esperávamos, mas primeiramente a si mesmos se deram ao Senhor, e a nós pela vontade de Deus;
6 To the end we should exhort Titus, in order that, according as he before made a beginning, so, he should also complete unto you this favour also.
6 de maneira que exortamos a Tito que, assim como antes tinha começado, assim também completasse entre vós ainda esta graça.
7 But, just as, in everything, ye superabound,in faith, and discourse, and knowledge, and all earnestness, and in the love among you which proceedeth from us, in order that, in this favour also, ye would superabound.
7 Ora, assim como abundais em tudo: em fé, em palavra, em ciência, em todo o zelo, no vosso amor para conosco, vede que também nesta graça abundeis.
8 Not by way of injunction, do I speak, but through, others, earnestness, and, the genuineness of your own love, putting to the test.
8 Não digo isto como quem manda, mas para provar, mediante o zelo de outros, a sinceridade de vosso amor;
9 For ye are taking knowledge of the favour of our Lord Jesus Christ ,how that, for your sakes, he became destitutealthough he was, rich, in order that, ye, by his destitution, might be enriched.
9 pois conheceis a graça de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo, que, sendo rico, por amor de vós se fez pobre, para que pela sua pobreza fôsseis enriquecidos.
10 And, a judgment, herein, do I give,for, this, unto you, is profitable,who, indeed, not only of the doing, but of the desiring, made for yourselves a beginning a year ago;
10 E nisto dou o meu parecer; pois isto vos convém a vós que primeiro começastes, desde o ano passado, não só a participar mas também a querer;
11 Howbeit, now, the doing also, complete ye, in order that, even according to the forwardness of the desiring, so, may be the completingout of what ye have.
11 agora, pois, levai a termo a obra, para que, assim como houve a prontidão no querer, haja também o cumprir segundo o que tendes.
12 For, if the forwardness is set forth, according to what one may have, he is well approved, not according to what one hath not.
12 Porque, se há prontidão de vontade, é aceitável segundo o que alguém tem, e não segundo o que não tem.
13 For, not that unto others should be relief, and unto you distress , but, by equality, in the present season, your surplus for their deficiency,
13 Pois digo isto não para que haja alívio para outros e aperto para vós,
14 In order that their surplus may come to be for your deficiency: that there may come about an equality:
14 mas para que haja igualdade, suprindo, neste tempo presente, na vossa abundância a falta dos outros, para que também a abundância deles venha a suprir a vossa falta, e assim haja igualdade;
15 Even as it is writtenHe that
15 como está escrito: Ao que muito colheu, não sobrou; e ao que pouco colheu, não faltou.
16 Thanks, however, unto God!who is putting the same earnestness in your behalf in the heart of Titus,
16 Mas, graças a Deus, que pôs no coração de Tito a mesma solicitude por vós;
17 In that, though, indeed, the exhortation, he welcomed; yet already being, greatly in earnest, of his own accord, hath he gone forth unto you.
17 pois, com efeito, aceitou a nossa exortação; mas sendo sobremodo zeloso, foi por sua própria vontade que partiu para vós.
18 Howbeit, we also set forward, with him, the brother, whose praise in the Glad Tidings, through all the assemblies:
18 E juntamente com ele enviamos o irmão cujo louvor no evangelho se tem espalhado por todas as igrejas;
19 Not only so, however, but he hath also been appointed by the assemblies, as a fellow-traveler with us in this favour, which is being ministered by us with a view to the Lords glory and our earnest desire:
19 e não só isto, mas também foi escolhido pelas igrejas para ser nosso companheiro de viagem no tocante a esta graça que por nós é ministrada para glória do Senhor e para provar a nossa boa vontade;
20 Arranging thislest anyone, upon us, should cast blame, in this munificence which is being ministered by us;
20 assim evitando que alguém nos censure com referência a esta abundância, que por nós é ministrada;
21 For we provide things honourable, not only before Lord, but also before men.
21 pois zelamos o que é honesto, não só diante do Senhor, mas também diante dos homens.
22 Moreover we have set forward, with them, our brother whom we have proved, in many things, ofttimes, earnest,but, now, much more earnest, by reason of the great confidence towards you.
22 Com eles enviamos também outro nosso irmão, o qual muitas vezes e em muitas coisas já experimentamos ser zeloso, mas agora muito mais zeloso ainda pela muita confiança que vós tem.
23 Whether as regardeth Titus, he is a partner of mine, and, towards you, a fellow-worker. or our brethren, apostles of assemblies, and Christs glory.
23 Quanto a Tito, ele é meu companheiro e cooperador para convosco; quanto a nossos irmãos, são mensageiros das igrejas, glória de Cristo.
24 The proof of your love, therefore, and of our boasting in your behalf, shew ye, unto them, in the face of the assemblies.
24 Portanto mostrai para com eles, perante a face das igrejas, a prova do vosso amor, e da nossa glória a vosso respeito.
