1 For we know that-if, our earthly tent-dwelling, should be taken down, we have, a building of God, a dwelling not made by hand, age-abiding in the heavens.
1 Sabemos que, quando nosso corpo terreno, esta tenda em que vivemos, se desfizer, teremos um corpo eterno, uma casa no céu feita para nós pelo próprio Deus, e não por mãos humanas.
2 And verily, in this, we sigh, earnestly desiring to clothe ourselves over, with our habitation which is of heaven,
2 Na tenda terrena, gememos e desejamos ansiosamente nos vestir com nosso lar celestial, como se fosse uma roupa nova.
3 Although, indeed, even clothing ourselves, we shall not be found, naked;
3 Porque de fato nos vestiremos com um corpo celestial, e não ficaremos despidos.
4 And verily, we who are in the tent, do sigh, being weighed down, while yet we are not wishing to unclothe ourselves, but to clothe ourselves over,in order that, what is mortal, may be swallowed up, by life.
4 Enquanto vivemos nesta tenda que é o corpo terreno, gememos e suspiramos, mas isso não significa que queremos ser despidos. Na verdade, queremos vestir nosso corpo novo, para que este corpo mortal seja engolido pela vida.
5 Now, he that hath wrought us for this very thing, is, God,who hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit,
5 Deus nos preparou para isso e, como garantia, nos deu o Espírito.
6 Having good courage, therefore, at all times, and knowing thatremaining at home in the body, we are away from home from the Lord,
6 Portanto, temos sempre confiança, apesar de sabermos que, enquanto vivemos neste corpo, não estamos em nosso lar com o Senhor.
7 By faith, are we walking, not by sight;
7 Porque vivemos por fé, e não pelo que vemos.
8 We have good courage, however, and are well pleasedrather to be away from home, out of the body, and to come home, unto the Lord.
8 Sim, temos confiança absoluta e preferíamos deixar este corpo terreno, pois então estaríamos em nosso lar com o Senhor.
9 Wherefore also we are ambitiouswhether at home, or away from home, to be, well-pleasing unto him.
9 Assim, quer estejamos neste corpo, quer o deixemos, nosso objetivo é agradar ao Senhor.
10 For, we all, must needs be made manifest before the judgment seat of the Christ, that each one may get back the things done by means of the body, according to the things which he practised, whether good or corrupt.
10 Pois todos nós teremos de comparecer diante do tribunal de Cristo, para que cada um receba o que merecer pelo bem ou pelo mal que tiver feito neste corpo terreno.
11 Knowing, then, the fear of the Lord, we persuade, men, but, unto God, are manifest,I hope, moreover, even in your consciences, that we are manifest:
11 Assim, conhecendo o temor ao Senhor, procuramos persuadir outros. Deus sabe que somos sinceros, e espero que vocês também o saibam.
12 Not again, ourselves, do we commend unto you, but as though an occasion we were giving unto yousomething to boast of, in our behalf; that ye may have something suited unto them who, in appearance, are boasting, and not in heart.
12 Estamos mais uma vez nos recomendando a vocês? Nada disso, estamos apenas lhes dando motivos para que se orgulhem de nós, a fim de que possam responder àqueles que se orgulham nas aparências, e não no coração.
13 For, whether we have been beside ourselves, it hath been for God, or, whether we are sober-minded, it is for you.
13 Se parecemos loucos, é para dar glória a Deus, e se mantemos o juízo, é para o bem de vocês.
14 For, the love of the Christ, constraineth us;
14 De qualquer forma, o amor de Cristo nos impulsiona. Porque cremos que ele morreu por todos, também cremos que todos morreram.
15 Having judged this,that, one, in behalf of all, died, hence, they all, died; and, in behalf of all, died he,in order that, they who live, no longer for themselves, should live, but for him who, in their behalf, died and rose again.
15 Ele morreu por todos, para que os que recebem sua nova vida não vivam mais para si mesmos, mas para Cristo, que morreu e ressuscitou por eles.
16 So that, we, henceforth, know, no one, after the flesh: if we have even been gaining, after the flesh, a knowledge of Christ,
16 Portanto, não avaliamos mais ninguém do ponto de vista humano. Em outros tempos, pensávamos em Cristo apenas do ponto de vista humano, mas agora o conhecemos de modo bem diferente.
17 On the contrary, now, no longer, are we gaining it. So that, if any one is in Christ, there is a new creation! the old things, have passed away,Lo! they have become new!
17 Logo, todo aquele que está em Cristo se tornou nova criação. A velha vida acabou, e uma nova vida teve início!
18 The all things, moreover, are of God,who hath reconciled us unto himself, through Christ, and hath given, unto us, the reconciling ministry:
18 E tudo isso vem de Deus, aquele que nos trouxe de volta para si por meio de Cristo e nos encarregou de reconciliar outros com ele.
19 How that, God, was in Christ, reconciling, a world, unto himself, not reckoning, unto them, their offences,and hath put, in us, the reconciling discourse.
19 Pois, em Cristo, Deus estava reconciliando consigo o mundo, não levando mais em conta os pecados das pessoas. E ele nos deu esta mensagem maravilhosa de reconciliação.
20 In behalf of Christ, therefore, are we ambassadors,as if God were beseeching through us: we entreat, in behalf of Christ,be reconciled unto God!
20 Agora, portanto, somos embaixadores de Cristo; Deus faz seu apelo por nosso intermédio. Falamos em nome de Cristo quando dizemos: “Reconciliem-se com Deus!”.
21 Him who knew not sin, in our behalf, he made to be, sin, that we might become Gods righteousness in him.
21 Pois Deus fez de Cristo, aquele que nunca pecou, a oferta por nosso pecado, para que por meio dele fôssemos declarados justos diante de Deus.
