1 Isus, răspunzând, le-a vorbit iarăși în pilde, zicând:
1 Jesus tornou a falar-lhes por meio de parábolas:

2 The kingdom of the heavens has become like a king who made a wedding feast for his son,
3 și a
3 and sent his bondmen to call the persons invited to the wedding feast, and they would not come.

4 Again he sent other bondmen, saying, Say to the persons invited, Behold, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and my fatted beasts are killed, and all things ready; come to the wedding feast.

5 But they made light of it, and went, one to his own land, and another to his commerce.

6 And the rest, laying hold of his bondmen, ill-treated and slew {them}.

7 And {when} the king {heard of it he} was wroth, and having sent his forces, destroyed those murderers and burned their city.

8 Then he says to his bondmen, The wedding feast is ready, but those invited were not worthy;
9 — ausente —
9 go therefore into the thoroughfares of the highways, and as many as ye shall find invite to the wedding feast.
10 — ausente —
10 And those bondmen went out into the highways, and brought together all as many as they found, both evil and good; and the wedding feast was furnished with guests.

11 And the king, having gone in to see the guests, beheld there a man not clothed with a wedding garment.
12 — ausente —
12 And he says to him, {My} friend, how camest thou in here not having on a wedding garment? But he was speechless.

13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him feet and hands, and take him away, and cast him out into the outer darkness: there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.

14 For many are called ones, but few chosen ones.
15 Atunci fariseii s-au dus și s-au sfătuit cum să-l prindă în discuția lui.

16 Și au trimis la el pe ucenicii lor și pe Irodieni, zicând: “Învățătorule, știm că ești cinstit și că înveți calea lui Dumnezeu cu adevărat, indiferent pe cine înveți, pentru că nu ești părtinitor față de nimeni.
16 And they send out to him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Teacher, we know that thou art true and teachest the way of God in truth, and carest not for any one, for thou regardest not men's person;
17 Spuneți-ne, așadar, ce credeți? Este sau nu legitim să plătim impozite Cezarului?”
17 tell us therefore what thou thinkest: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not?
18 Dar Isus, înțelegând răutatea lor, a zis: “
18 But Jesus, knowing their wickedness, said, Why tempt ye me, hypocrites?
19 I-au adus un denar.
19 Shew me the money of the tribute. And they presented to him a denarius.
20 Și i-a întrebat:
20 And he says to them, Whose {is} this image and superscription?
21 Ei i-au zis: “Al Cezarului”. Apoi le-a zis: “
21 They say to him, Caesar's. Then he says to them, Pay then what is Caesar's to Caesar, and what is God's to God.
22 Când au auzit, s-au mirat, L-au lăsat și au plecat.
22 And when they heard {him}, they wondered, and left him, and went away.
23 În ziua aceea au venit la El saducheii, care zic că nu există înviere. L-au întrebat

24 și i-au zis: “Învățătorule, Moise a zis: “Dacă un om moare fără să aibă copii, fratele său să se căsătorească cu femeia lui și să ridice urmași fratelui său.
24 saying, Teacher, Moses said, If any one die, not having children, his brother shall marry his wife and shall raise up seed to his brother.
25 Or, erau cu noi șapte frați. Cel dintâi s-a căsătorit și a murit și, neavând urmași, și-a lăsat soția fratelui său.
25 Now there were with us seven brethren; and the first having married died, and not having seed, left his wife to his brother.
26 La fel, și al doilea, și al treilea, până la al șaptelea.
26 In like manner also the second and the third, unto the seven.
27 După ei toți, femeia a murit.
27 And last of all the woman also died.
28 La înviere, așadar, a cui va fi soția dintre cei șapte? Căci toți au avut-o.”
28 In the resurrection therefore of which of the seven shall she be wife, for all had her?
29 Dar Isus le-a răspuns: “
29 And Jesus answering said to them, Ye err, not knowing the scriptures nor the power of God.

30 For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are as angels of God in heaven.

31 Quanto à ressurreição dos mortos, não lestes o que Deus vos disse:
32 “
32 Eu sou o Deus de Abraão, o Deus de Isaac e o Deus de Jacó {Ex 3,6}? Ora, ele não é Deus dos mortos, mas Deus dos vivos.
33 Când au auzit mulțimile, au rămas uimite de învățătura lui.
33 E, ouvindo esta doutrina, as turbas se enchiam de grande admiração.
34 Dar fariseii, auzind că i-a redus la tăcere pe saduchei, s-au adunat.
34 Sabendo os fariseus que Jesus reduzira ao silêncio os saduceus, reuniram-se
35 Unul dintre ei, un avocat, i-a pus o întrebare, punându-l la încercare.
35 e um deles, doutor da lei, fez-lhe esta pergunta para pô-lo à prova:
36 “Învățătorule, care este cea mai mare poruncă din Lege?”
36 Mestre, qual é o maior mandamento da lei?
37 Isus i-a zis: “
37 Respondeu Jesus: Amarás o Senhor teu Deus de todo teu coração, de toda tua alma e de todo teu espírito {Dt 6,5}.

38 Este é o maior e o primeiro mandamento.
39 — ausente —
39 E o segundo, semelhante a este, é: Amarás teu próximo como a ti mesmo {Lv 19,18}.

40 Nesses dois mandamentos se resumem toda a lei e os profetas.
41 Pe când se adunaseră fariseii, Isus le-a pus o întrebare,
41 Como os fariseus se agrupassem, Jesus interrogou-os:
42 și le-a zis:I-au spus: “De David”.
42 Que pensais vós de Cristo? De quem é filho? Responderam: De Davi!
43 El le-a zis: “
43 Como então, prosseguiu Jesus, Davi, falando sob inspiração do Espírito, chama-o Senhor, dizendo:
44 — ausente —
44 O Senhor disse a meu Senhor: Senta-te à minha direita, até que eu ponha teus inimigos por escabelo dos teus pés {Sl 109,1}?
45 — ausente —
45 Se, pois, Davi o chama Senhor, como é ele seu filho?
46 Nimeni n-a putut să-i răspundă nimic și nimeni n-a îndrăznit să-i mai pună vreo întrebare din ziua aceea.
46 Ninguém pôde responder-lhe nada. E, depois daquele dia, ninguém mais ousou interrogá-lo.
