The Riverside New Testament (RNT) vs NAA
1 AFTER this I saw another angel descending from heaven with great power, and the earth was lit up with his splendor.
1 Depois destas coisas, vi descer do céu outro anjo, que tinha grande autoridade, e a terra se iluminou com a sua glória.
2 He shouted with a powerful voice, saying, "Babylon the Great has fallen, has fallen, and has become a habitation of demons and a stronghold of every impure spirit and a stronghold of every unclean and detested bird.
2 Então exclamou com potente voz, dizendo: — Caiu! Caiu a grande Babilônia! Ela se tornou morada de demônios, refúgio de toda espécie de espírito imundo e esconderijo de todo tipo de ave imunda e detestável,
3 For all the nations have drunk of the wine of her passion for lewdness and the kings of the earth have committed lewdness with her and by the excess of her luxury the merchants of the earth have grown rich."
3 pois todas as nações beberam do vinho do furor da sua prostituição. Com ela se prostituíram os reis da terra. Também os mercadores da terra se enriqueceram à custa da sua luxúria.
4 Then I heard another voice from heaven saying, "Come out of her, my people, that you may not take part in her sins nor receive a share in her plagues,
4 Ouvi outra voz do céu, dizendo: “Saiam dela, povo meu, para que vocês não sejam cúmplices em seus pecados e para que os seus flagelos não caiam sobre vocês.
5 for her sins have been heaped up to heaven and God has remembered her unrighteous deeds.
5 Porque os pecados dela se acumularam até o céu, e Deus se lembrou das injustiças que ela praticou.
6 Repay to her as she has paid, and make it double for her deeds. In the cup she mixed mix double for her.
6 Retribuam-lhe como também ela retribuiu, paguem-lhe em dobro segundo as suas obras e, no cálice em que ela misturou bebidas, misturem dobrado para ela.
7 As much as she glorified herself and played the wanton, so much give her torture and woe. For in her heart she says, 'I sit here a queen; no widow am I and woe I shall not see.'
7 O quanto a si mesma glorificou e viveu em luxúria, deem a ela em igual medida tormento e pranto. Porque ela pensa assim: ‘Estou sentada como rainha. Não sou viúva. Nunca saberei o que é pranto!’
8 For this reason in one day her plagues will come, death and woe and famine, and she shall be burned up in fire. For strong is the Lord God who has judged her.
8 Por isso, em um só dia sobrevirão os seus flagelos: morte, pranto e fome; e será queimada no fogo, porque poderoso é o Senhor Deus, que a julga.”
9 "The kings of the earth who have committed lewdness with her and have reveled luxuriously, when they see the smoke of her burning, will wail and beat their breasts.
9 Os reis da terra, que com ela se prostituíram e viveram em luxúria, vão chorar e se lamentar por causa dela, quando virem a fumaça do seu incêndio.
10 Standing afar because of their dismay at her torture, they will say, 'Alas, alas, O great city, Babylon the strong city, for in one hour your doom has come!'
10 E, conservando-se de longe, com medo do seu tormento, dizem: “Ai! Ai de você, grande cidade, Babilônia, cidade poderosa! Pois em uma só hora chegou o seu juízo.”
11 The merchants of the earth will weep and wail over her, for no one will any longer buy their cargoes,
11 E, por causa dela, choram e pranteiam os mercadores da terra, porque ninguém mais compra a sua mercadoria,
12 cargoes of gold and silver and precious stones and pearls and fine linen and purple and silk and scarlet, all kinds of citrus wood and their many kinds of articles of ivory and their many kinds of articles of costliest wood and brass and iron and marble,
12 mercadoria de ouro, de prata, de pedras preciosas, de pérolas, de linho finíssimo, de púrpura, de seda, de escarlate; e toda espécie de madeira odorífera, todo gênero de objeto de marfim, toda qualidade de móvel de madeira cara, de bronze, de ferro e de mármore;
13 and cinnamon and spice and incense and ointment and frankincense and wine, and olive oil and fine flour and wheat, and cattle and sheep and horses and chariots, and bodies and souls of men.
13 e canela de cheiro, especiarias, incenso, perfume, mirra, vinho, azeite, boa farinha, trigo, gado e ovelhas; e de cavalos, de carruagens, de escravos e até almas humanas.
14 The ripe fruits for which your soul longed have gone from you, and all your dainty and splendid things are lost to you and they will never more be found.
14 Eles dizem: “O fruto que tanto lhe apeteceu se afastou de você, e para você se extinguiu tudo o que é delicado e esplêndido, e nunca mais serão achados.”
15 The traders in these things who grew rich from her will stand afar through dismay at her torture, weeping and wailing
15 Os mercadores destas coisas, que, por meio dela, se enriqueceram, ficarão de longe, com medo do seu tormento, chorando e pranteando,
16 and saying: 'Alas, alas, for the great city, clothed in fine linen and purple and scarlet and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls!
16 dizendo: “Ai! Ai da grande cidade, que estava vestida de linho finíssimo, de púrpura e de escarlate, enfeitada com ouro, pedras preciosas e pérolas,
17 For in one hour this vast wealth has given place to desolation.' " Every ship captain and every one who sails anywhere, and sailors and all who gain their living on the sea, stood afar
17 porque em uma só hora ficou devastada tamanha riqueza!” E todos os pilotos, e todos aqueles que viajam pelo mar, e marinheiros, e os que ganham a vida no mar ficaram de longe.
18 and shouted as they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, "What city could compare with the great city?"
18 Então, vendo a fumaça do seu incêndio, gritavam: — Que cidade se compara à grande cidade?
19 They threw dust upon their heads and shouted as they wept and wailed, saying, "Alas, alas, for the great city in which all who had ships on the sea grew rich from her wealth! For in an hour she has been desolated.
19 Lançaram pó sobre a cabeça e, chorando e pranteando, gritavam: “Ai! Ai da grande cidade, na qual se enriqueceram todos os que possuíam navios no mar, à custa da sua riqueza, porque em uma só hora foi devastada!
20 Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you the holy and you apostles and prophets! For God has pronounced sentence in your behalf against her."
20 Alegrem-se por causa dela, ó céus, e também vocês, santos, apóstolos e profetas, porque Deus julgou a causa de vocês contra ela.”
21 Then one strong angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and hurled it into the sea, saying, "With such violence shall Babylon the great city be hurled down and she will never more be found.
21 Então um anjo forte levantou uma pedra do tamanho de uma grande pedra de moinho e lançou-a no mar, dizendo: “Assim, com ímpeto, será lançada Babilônia, a grande cidade, e nunca mais será achada.
22 The music of harpers and musicians and flute-players and trumpeters will never more be heard in you. No master of any art will ever more be found in you. The sound of the mill will never more be heard in you.
22 Em você nunca mais será ouvido o som de harpistas, de músicos, de tocadores de flauta e de trombeta. Em você nunca mais se achará artífice nenhum de qualquer arte que seja, e nunca jamais se ouvirá em você o ruído de pedra de moinho.
23 The light of a lamp will never more shine in you. The voices of bridegroom and bride will never again be heard in you. Your merchants were the great ones of the earth; for by your magic arts all the nations were led astray.
23 Também nunca mais brilhará em você a luz de uma lamparina, e nunca mais se ouvirá em você uma voz de noivo ou de noiva, pois os seus mercadores foram os grandes da terra, porque com a sua feitiçaria você seduziu todas as nações.
24 In her was found the blood of prophets and of holy men and of all who had been slain on the earth."
24 E nela foi encontrado sangue de profetas, de santos e de todos os que foram mortos sobre a terra.”
