4 but the hidden man of the heart, in the incorruptible {ornament} of a meek and quiet spirit, which in the sight of God is of great price.

5 For thus also the holy women who have hoped in God heretofore adorned themselves, being subject to their own husbands;

7 {Ye} husbands likewise, dwell with {them} according to knowledge, as with a weaker, {even} the female, vessel, giving {them} honour, as also fellow-heirs of {the} grace of life, that your prayers be not hindered.
8 Nɛ gätho gahʉ n'dat'a gam bɛ̨mhbʉ n'da ngu n'dajʉ, nɛ gam bɛ̨mhbʉ tengu'bʉ 'da dá sähʉ 'bɛ'a i sä a n'da. Nɛ dan huɛ̨jʉ n'da ngu n'dajʉ, nɛ din ja ma yembʉihʉ, nɛ hin dan 'yɛ̨zɛhɛhʉ n'da ngu n'dajʉ.

9 not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing; but on the contrary, blessing {others}, because ye have been called to this, that ye should inherit blessing.
10 Nguetho nt'o't'i:
10 For he that will love life and see good days, let him cause his tongue to cease from evil and his lips that they speak no guile.
11 Nɛ da hyɛ a ran ts'o, da 'yøt' ran ho.
11 And let him avoid evil, and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it;
12 Nguetho nu ra Hmu in numanho ʉ to i øt' ran ho,
12 because {the} eyes of {the} Lord {are} on {the} righteous, and his ears towards their supplications; but {the} face of {the} Lord {is} against them that do evil.

13 And who shall injure you if ye have become imitators of that which {is} good?
14 Pɛ madague'bʉ ga sähʉ ran ʉ 'bʉ dí øthʉ ran ho, pɛ gue'a man'da ná tįmhbʉ rán ho Oją a. Janangue'a hin ga suhʉ 'bʉ in nde di pijʉ ʉ 'da, xín da du ma mbʉihʉ.
14 E até sereis felizes, se padecerdes alguma coisa por causa da justiça!
15 Pɛ høntho gan numansuhʉ ra Cristo mbo ma mbʉihʉ, ngue ma Hmuhʉ a. Nɛ thocpa thoho dan sähʉ ga xihmbʉ 'bɛ'a dí ɛ̨c'yɛ̨ihʉ 'bʉ 'bo'o da 'yängahʉ. Pɛ jante thoho ga xihmbʉ nɛ gan numansuhʉ ʉ.
15 Portanto, não temais as suas ameaças e não vos turbeis. Antes santificai em vossos corações Cristo, o Senhor. Estai sempre prontos a responder para vossa defesa a todo aquele que vos pedir a razão de vossa esperança, mas fazei-o com suavidade e respeito.

16 Tende uma consciência reta a fim de que, mesmo naquilo em que dizem mal de vós, sejam confundidos os que desacreditam o vosso santo procedimento em Cristo.
17 Nguetho man'da xʉn ho 'bʉ gue'a ran ho ná sähʉ ran ʉnbi, 'bʉ da nde Oją, xínda gue'bʉ ga sähʉ ran ʉnbi nangue ma ts'oqui zɛhɛhʉ.
17 Aliás, é melhor padecer, se Deus assim o quiser, por fazer o bem do que por fazer o mal.
18 Nɛ'a ra Cristo bin ʉnbi, nɛ njąm'bʉ bi 'yøt' yʉ ts'oqui. Pɛ n'dandį thoho bi du nangue ma ts'oquihʉ, guejʉ dyʉ ts'om'bäihʉ, nguetho bi nde da zixcahʉ bʉ bí 'bʉ Oją. Nɛ majuąni bi tho rá ngøc'yɛ̨i, pɛ nu rá mbʉi guexta'a mi 'bʉi.
18 Pois também Cristo morreu uma vez pelos nossos pecados - o Justo pelos injustos - para nos conduzir a Deus. Padeceu a morte em sua carne, mas foi vivificado quanto ao espírito.

19 É neste mesmo espírito que ele foi pregar aos espíritos que eram detidos no cárcere, àqueles que outrora, nos dias de Noé, tinham sido rebeldes,

21 Esta água prefigurava o batismo de agora, que vos salva também a vós, não pela purificação das impurezas do corpo, mas pela que consiste em pedir a Deus uma consciência boa, pela ressurreição de Jesus Cristo.

22 Esse Jesus Cristo, tendo subido ao céu, está assentado à direita de Deus, depois de ter recebido a submissão dos anjos, dos principados e das potestades.
