1 Kwa vizho bai, dzithengeni na mai gosi, na ulongo, na kudzihendya na wivu, na pia dziikeni kure na nyambo.
1 Deponde, pois, toda malícia, toda astúcia, fingimentos, invejas e toda espécie de maledicência.

3 Mana here Maoro gaambazho, “Mudzauthatha udzo wa Bwana.”
3 if indeed ye have tasted that the Lord {is} good.
4 H'aya bai ndzoni kwa Bwana, iye ni here iwe ririro moyo na ririrokahalwa ni anadamu, ela ririrotsagulwa ni Mulungu na akirona kukala rina mana zhomu.

5 Kwa vizho ninwi nanwi ndzoni dza here mawe garigo moyo, na mudzamboze ili muhumirwe kuakira nyumba ya kiroho. Kidza mulazhe sadaka za roho dza here alombi aeri, kidza za kwahikizwa ni Mulungu, kukirira kwa Jesu Masihi.
5 yourselves also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
6 Kwani Maoro ganaamba,
6 Because it is contained in the scripture: Behold, I lay in Zion a corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believes on him shall not be put to shame.
7 Kwani ninwi murio munamukuluhira, be iwe riro rina mana bomu kwenu. Ela kwa ao ambao k'amamukuluhira,
7 To you therefore who believe {is} the preciousness; but to the disobedient, the stone which the builders cast away as worthless, this is become head of {the} corner,
8 Na kidza Maoro mangine ganaamba vivi,
8 and a stone of stumbling and rock of offence; {who} stumble at the word, being disobedient to which also they have been appointed.
9 Ela ninwi mu at'u muriotsagulwa ni Mulungu, alombi a Muthawali, kidza mu lukolo lueri, na mu at'u mario ni a Mulungu mwenye. Mulungu wahenda vivi ili muutsamuse udzowe, mana wamwiha ili mwambole kahi za kiza cha dambi na mwangire kahi za mulangazawe wa kwangalaza.
9 But *ye* {are} a chosen race, a kingly priesthood, a holy nation, a people for a possession, that ye might set forth the excellencies of him who has called you out of darkness to his wonderful light;
10 Ho kapindi ninwi were k'amu at'u a Mulungu bule, ela vino vikara mudzauya mu at'u a Mulungu. Zhogo, were k'amudzangwe kuonerwa mbazi ni mut'u, ela vikara Mulungu adzamuonera mbazi.
10 who once {were} not a people, but now God's people; who were not enjoying mercy, but now have found mercy.
11 Asena, ninamuadha vivi: Ninwi murizho akizi a ngira haha dhuniani, na murio charoni, h'aya dziikeni kure na th'amaa mbii za mwiri ambazo zinaheha na roho zenu.
11 Beloved, I exhort {you}, as strangers and sojourners, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
12 Kalani na mwendo mudzo kahi za o at'u ambao k'amamukuluhira Jesu, ili mamuryaho lwambo na kumwamba kukala mu ahendi a mai, maone mahendo genu madzo na mamulike Mulungu kahi za siku ya kudzakwe.
12 having your conversation honest among the Gentiles, that {as to that} in which they speak against you as evildoers, they may through {your} good works, {themselves} witnessing {them}, glorify God in {the} day of visitation.
13 Gohani sheria zosi za ts'i, kwani mukihenda vizho at'u mandamulika Bwana. Mwagoheni ye muthawali wa ts'i ariye iye nde kitswa,

14 na agoheni hatha maluwali, ambao ni at'u mahumwao ni iye muthawali kuangiza akili ahendi a mai na kualika ahendi a madzo.
14 or to rulers as sent by him, for vengeance on evildoers, and praise to them that do well.
15 Kwani ahendzazho Mulungu ni kwamba muanyamaze kwa mahendo genu madzo aryahu at'u azuzu mahendzao kuthala kudzinenera.
15 Because so is the will of God, that by well-doing ye put to silence the ignorance of senseless men;
16 Ishini here at'u mario huru, ela hamwenga na vizho musiuhumire wo uhuru wenu kuhenda mai kisiri-siri, ela kalani here atumwa a Mulungu.
16 as free, and not as having liberty as a cloak of malice, but as God's bondmen.
17 Aishimuni at'u osi, kidza ahendzeni ndugu. Mwagoheni Mulungu na mumwishimu muthawali.
17 Shew honour to all, love the brotherhood, fear God, honour the king.
18 Na ninwi ahumiki nanwi dzitserezeni kwa mathajiri enu na muap'e ishima. Hendani vivi kwa aryahu mathajiri osi, aryahu ambao mana moyo mudzo kidza mana mbazi, na hatha aryahu ambao ni akali na enye madumulo.
18 Servants, {be} subject with all fear to your masters, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the ill-tempered.
19 Kwani mut'u akipata thabu kwa ngira iriyo si ya hachi na akivumirira kwa kukala anamanya mahendzo ga Mulungu, bai mut'u iye Mulungu andamuhasa.
19 For this {is} acceptable, if one, for conscience sake towards God, endure griefs, suffering unjustly.
20 Mana, vindafwahani mukivumirira kupigwa kwa ut'u wa kuhenda mai? Ela mukipata thabu kwa kuhenda madzo, kidza mukivumirira, be Mulungu andafwahirwa nanwi.
20 For what glory {is it}, if sinning and being buffeted ye shall bear {it}? but if, doing good and suffering, ye shall bear {it}, this is acceptable with God.
21 Kwani vivi ndo murizhoihirwa, kwani hatha Masihi mwenye wapata thabu kwa ut'u wenu, na akimurichira mufano, ili muthuwe nyayoze.
21 For to this have ye been called; for Christ also has suffered for you, leaving you a model that ye should follow in his steps:
22 Iye ariye k'ahendere dambi, hedu hatha kanwake kunena ulongo,
22 who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth;
23 ambaye arihosholerwa k'aaujizire masholo, arihopata thabu k'agoshere mut'u, ela akidzambozera kwa iye Mulungu ahukumuye kwa hachi.
23 who, {when} reviled, reviled not again; {when} suffering, threatened not; but gave {himself} over into the hands of him who judges righteously;
24 Na iye mwenye wafuusiza dambi zehu kwa kuteseka mwiriwe na kuhufwerera haryahu musalabani, ili siswi husithawalwe ni dambi kaheri, ela huishi kwa hachi. Kwa vizho bai kukirira na marangage, mwahozwa.
24 who himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, in order that, being dead to sins, we may live to righteousness: by whose stripes ye have been healed.
25 Kwani mwere mu dza here ng'ondzi zirizongamika ngira, ela vikara mwauya kwa Jesu Masihi ariye nde murisa na muimirizi wa maroho genu.
25 For ye were going astray as sheep, but have now returned to the shepherd and overseer of your souls.
