1 Aaron's sons Nadab and Abihu each took an incense burner. They put burning coals and incense in it. Then in Jehovahs presence they offered this unauthorized fire.
1 Nadabe e Abiú, filhos de Arão, pegaram cada um o seu incensário, nos quais acenderam fogo, acrescentaram incenso, e trouxeram fogo profano perante o Senhor, sem que tivessem sido autorizados.
2 A fire flashed from Jehovah and burned them. They died in the presence of Jehovah.
2 Então saiu fogo da presença do Senhor e os consumiu. Morreram perante o Senhor.
3 Moses said to Aaron: »This is what Jehovah was speaking about when he said: All who serve me must respect my holiness. I will reveal my glory to my people.« But Aaron remained silent.
3 Moisés então disse a Arão: "Foi isto que o Senhor disse: ‘Aos que de mim se aproximam santo me mostrarei; à vista de todo o povo glorificado serei’ ". Arão, porém, ficou em silêncio.
4 Moses called Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel, Aaron's uncle. He said: »Come here and carry your cousins' bodies away from the sacred tent and put them outside the camp.«
4 Então Moisés chamou Misael e Elzafã, filhos de Uziel, tio de Arão, e lhes disse: "Venham cá; tirem os seus primos da frente do santuário e levem-nos para fora do acampamento".
5 So they came and took hold of the clothing on the corpses. They carried them outside the camp just as Moses had commanded.
5 Eles foram e os puxaram pelas túnicas, para fora do acampamento, conforme Moisés tinha ordenado.
6 Moses said to Aaron and to his sons Eleazar and Ithamar: Do not leave your hair uncombed or tear your clothes to show that you are in mourning. If you do you will die. For Jehovah will be angry with the whole community. But all other Israelites are allowed to mourn this death caused by the fire Jehovah sent.
6 Então Moisés disse a Arão e a seus filhos Eleazar e Itamar: "Não andem descabelados, nem rasguem as roupas em sinal de luto, senão vocês morrerão e a ira do Senhor cairá sobre toda a comunidade. Mas os seus parentes, e toda a nação de Israel, poderão chorar por aqueles que o Senhor destruiu pelo fogo.
7 »You are Jehovahs chosen priests. You must not leave the sacred tent, or you will die.« Aaron and his two sons obeyed Moses.
7 Não saiam da entrada da Tenda do Encontro, senão vocês morrerão, porquanto o óleo da unção do Senhor está sobre vocês". E eles fizeram conforme Moisés tinha ordenado.
8 Jehovah said to Aaron:
8 Depois o Senhor disse a Arão:
9 »Never drink beer or wine when you or your sons enter the sacred tent. If you do, you will die right there! This is a long lasting law from generation to generation.
9 "Você e seus filhos não devem beber vinho nem outra bebida fermentada antes de entrar na Tenda do Encontro, senão vocês morrerão. É um decreto perpétuo para as suas gerações.
10 »You must learn the difference distinction between what is holy and what is not holy and between the clean and the unclean.
10 Vocês têm que fazer separação entre o santo e o profano, entre o puro e o impuro,
11 »You must also teach the people of Israel everything that I commanded Moses to say to them.«
11 e ensinar aos israelitas todos os decretos que o Senhor lhes deu por meio de Moisés".
12 Moses spoke to Aaron and his two remaining sons, Eleazar and Ithamar. He said: »Take the grain offering that is left over from the food offered to Jehovah. Bake unleavened bread with it and eat it beside the altar. This is because this offering is very holy.
12 Então Moisés disse a Arão e aos seus filhos que ficaram vivos, Eleazar e Itamar: "Peguem a oferta de cereal que sobrou das ofertas dedicadas ao Senhor, preparadas no fogo, e comam-na sem fermento junto ao altar, pois é santíssima.
13 »Eat it in a holy place. It is the part that belongs to you and your sons from the food offered to Jehovah. That is what Jehovah commanded me.
13 Comam-na em lugar sagrado, porquanto é a porção que lhes cabe por decreto, a você e a seus filhos, das ofertas dedicadas ao Senhor, preparadas no fogo; pois assim me foi ordenado.
14 »You and your families may eat the breast and the hind leg that are presented as the special gift and the special contribution to Jehovah for the priests. You may eat them in any ritually clean place. These offerings have been given to you and your children as the part that belongs to you from the fellowship offerings of the people of Israel.
14 O peito ritualmente movido e a coxa ofertada, você, seus filhos e suas filhas poderão comer num lugar cerimonialmente puro; foi dado a você e a seus filhos como porção das ofertas de comunhão dos israelitas.
15 »They shall bring the hind leg and the breast at the time the fat is presented as a food offering to Jehovah. These parts belong to you and your children from generation to generation, just as Jehovah commanded.«
15 A coxa ofertada e o peito ritualmente movido devem ser trazidos junto com as porções de gordura das ofertas preparadas no fogo, para serem movidos perante o Senhor como gesto ritual de apresentação. Esta será a porção por decreto perpétuo para você e seus descendentes, conforme o Senhor tinha ordenado".
16 Moses asked about the goat for the sin offering and learned that it had already been burned. This made him angry with Eleazar and Ithamar. He demanded:
16 Quando Moisés procurou por toda parte o bode da oferta pelo pecado e soube que já fora queimado, irou-se contra Eleazar e Itamar, os filhos de Arão que ficaram vivos, e perguntou:
17 »Why did you not eat the sin offering in a sacred place? It is very holy! Jehovah gave it to you in order to take away the sin of the community.
17 "Por que vocês não comeram a carne da oferta pelo pecado no Lugar Santo? É santíssima; foi-lhes dada para retirar a culpa da comunidade e fazer propiciação por ela perante o Senhor.
18 »Since its blood was not brought into the sacred Tent, you should have eaten the sacrifice there, as I commanded.«
18 Como o sangue do animal não foi levado para dentro do Lugar Santo, vocês deviam tê-lo comido no Lugar Santo, conforme ordenei".
19 Aaron answered: »If I had eaten the sin offering today, would Jehovah have approved? The people presented their sin offering to Jehovah today. They brought their burnt offering, but still these terrible things have happened to me.«
19 Arão respondeu a Moisés: "Hoje eles ofereceram o seu sacrifício pelo pecado e o seu holocausto perante o Senhor; mesmo assim coisas como essas aconteceram comigo. Será que teria agradado ao Senhor se eu tivesse comido a oferta pelo pecado hoje? "
20 When Moses heard this, he was satisfied.
20 Quando Moisés ouviu isso, ficou satisfeito.
