1 Therefore leaving the elementary truths of the doctrine of Christ let us move on to maturity. Let us not lay again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God.

2 We should not repeat the basic teachings about baptisms, and of the laying on of hands setting apart for holy tasks, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

3 We will do this if God permits.

4 Those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Spirit,
4 Sabuw iyab baitumatum hikwahir tema’am boro mi’itube tanibaisih dogor baikitabir hinab maiye? Anayabin nati sabuw marasika God ana marakaw hi’itin, mar ana siwar wanawanah run bow, naatu Anun Kakafiyin auman hibai,
5 and have tasted the good Word of God, and the powers of the age to come,
5 hai bowabowamaim hiso’ob God ana tur i gewasin, naatu mar enan ana fair hiso’ob.
6 if they shall fall away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance. This is because they personally impale the Son of God again, and expose him to public shame.

7 The earth that drinks in the rain that comes upon it, and brings forth vegetation for those by whom it was cultivated, receives blessing from God.
7 Gagub matan fufur eyar me etututub ana veya, ub i gewasih tikuboubunih teyey, naatu orot yait ekakaifen boro God ana baigegewasin nab.
8 That which bears thorns and briars is rejected, and is near to being cursed. It ends up being burned.
8 Baise kokor naatu ihitutu nati’imaim namamare na’at, sawar etei boro hina’af. Nati ana’itin i God eoraraf, imih ana yomaninamaim boro wairaf wan hinaya hina’afusar.
9 Even though we speak this way, beloved, we are convinced that you will have better things, things that belong to salvation.
9 Taitu au yabow, tur iti ao i men kwa auman akabari ao’omih, anayabin aki abitumatum, kwa i ayawas kwabaika, naatu boun nati yawasamaim ebobonawiyi.
10 For God is not unrighteous unjust to forget your work and the love you showed for his name. You ministered to the holy ones and continue to minister.
10 Anayabin God i foun ana orot, abisa isan kwasisinaf, o yabow kwaitin ana sabuw kwabibaisih, naatu boro’ika kwama ana sabuw kwabibaisih isan boro men ninat buhuruwimih.
11 We desire that every one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope down to the end.
11 Naatu aki ai kok gagamin i kwa ta’ita’imon etei kwana’abar totofar turobe’emaim kwanabow kwanan yomanin kwanatit. Saise sawar abisa isan nuhifot kwama kwabowabow boro niturobe.
12 We desire that you are not lazy, but follow those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
12 Aki men akokok kwananokow, baise a kokok baitumatumayah naatu yateh nuban hibatkikin hin abisa God eo’omatanih hibaib i kwani’u’urih.
13 When God made a promise to Abraham, he could swear by no one greater then himself, so he swore by himself.
13 God Abraham eo’omatan ana veya, men yait ta wabinamaim eo baifaro’omih, baise i taiyuwin isan ana omatanen yai eobaifaro, anayabin bi yait ta gagamin ma’am boro isan tao baifaro.
14 He said: »I will surely bless you and give you many descendants.«
14 God Abraham isan eo, “Ayu ao’omatani baigegewasin boro anit naatu warar gagamin na’in boro anit.”
15 After waiting patiently, Abraham received the promise.
15 Abraham yatenub ma kakaif ufunamaim, God abisa Abraham eo’omatan itin.
16 Men swear by someone greater then themselves: and an oath for confirmation to them puts an end to the problem.
16 Sabuw baifaro’omih boro orot ta gagamin wabinamaim hinao baifaro, saise abisa hio boro hinasinaf.
17 When God desired to show more convincingly to the heirs of the promise the unchangeable character of his purpose, he confirmed it with an oath.
17 God abisa baitit isan eo’omatanit, boro men nihamiy, abisa sinafumih eo boro nasinaf. Anayabin bebeyanamaim eo baifaro ana omatanen yai.
18 God did this to offer encouragement so we may rely on the hope offered to us. We have taken refuge in that hope and it is impossible for God to lie. These two things can never be changed.
18 Imih sawar rou’ab tana’itah, o baifaro naatu omatanen, iti sawar rou’ab boro men nabotabir God baifuwenayan namataramih. En. Imih it iyab wanawananamaim tarun tarafafar gewasin tabaib boro koufair tanab, naatu abisa natamaim hiyai inu’in isan boro tanabukikin nuhit nafot tanama.
19 We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of life. It is a hope that enters into the inner shrine behind the curtain.
19 Imih it ata nuhifot imaim tanabukikin ata yawas isan ni’aumor tanama. Naatu Jesu mar ana Tafaror Bar wanawanan kakafiyin anababatun ana faifuw rura’ah rur isan nuhit nafot tanama.
20 That is where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.
20 Anayabin it baibasit isan Keriso aunat i’iyon in maramaim run God nanamaim Firis Gagamin matar wanatowan ebatabat, Melkisedek firis ma’am na’atube.
