1 The queen of Sheba heard of Solomon's fame. She traveled to Jerusalem to test him with difficult questions.
1 Quando a rainha de Sabá ouviu falar da fama de Salomão, com respeito ao nome do Senhor , veio prová-lo com perguntas difíceis.
2 So she came to Jerusalem with a very large caravan. The camels carried spices and very much gold and precious stones. When she approached Solomon, she talked about everything she had on her mind heart.
2 Chegou a Jerusalém com uma enorme comitiva, com camelos carregados de especiarias, grande quantidade de ouro e pedras preciosas. Ela se apresentou diante de Salomão e lhe expôs tudo o que trazia em sua mente.
3 Solomon answered all her questions. Nothing was hidden from the king that he did not explain to her.
3 Salomão respondeu todas as perguntas que ela fez, e não houve nada profundo demais que o rei não pudesse explicar.
4 When the queen of Sheba perceived all the Wisdom of Solomon, the house that he had built,
4 Quando a rainha de Sabá viu toda a sabedoria de Salomão, o palácio que ele havia construído,
5 the food of his table, the seating of his servants, the attendance of his waiters and their attire, his cupbearers, and his stairway by which he went up to the house of Jehovah, she was overwhelmed.
5 a comida que era servida na mesa dele, o lugar dos seus oficiais, o serviço dos seus criados e os trajes deles, seus copeiros, e o holocausto que oferecia na Casa do Senhor , ficou como fora de si
6 She said to the king: »The report I heard in my country about your acts and your wisdom was true.
6 e disse ao rei: — É verdade o que ouvi na minha terra a respeito de você e a respeito da sua sabedoria.
7 »But I had no faith in what was said about you, till I came and saw for myself. Now I see that what I was told was not the half of it! Your wisdom and your wealth are much greater than they said.
7 Eu, porém, não acreditava naquelas palavras, até que vim e vi com os meus próprios olhos. Eis que não me contaram nem a metade: você supera em sabedoria e prosperidade a fama que ouvi.
8 »Happy are your wives, happy are your servants whose place is ever before you, hearing your words of wisdom.
8 Felizes os homens à sua volta, felizes estes seus servos que estão sempre diante de você e que ouvem a sua sabedoria!
9 »Praise Jehovah your God! He delighted in you and made you king of Israel. Jehovahs love for Israel is long lasting, he has made you king, to be their judge in righteousness.«
9 Bendito seja o Senhor , seu Deus, que se agradou de você e o colocou no trono de Israel. O Senhor ama Israel para sempre e, por isso, ele o constituiu rei, para que você execute o juízo e a justiça.
10 She gave the king a hundred and twenty talents of gold, and a great store of spices and jewels. Never again was such a wealth of spices seen as that which the queen of Sheba gave King Solomon.
10 Ela entregou ao rei quatro toneladas de ouro, grande quantidade de especiarias e pedras preciosas. Nunca mais veio especiaria em tanta abundância, como a que a rainha de Sabá ofereceu ao rei Salomão.
11 Hiram's fleet that brought gold from Ophir also brought a large quantity of sandalwood and precious stones from Ophir.
11 Também os navios de Hirão, que transportavam ouro de Ofir, traziam de lá grande quantidade de madeira de sândalo e pedras preciosas.
12 With the sandalwood possibly the algum tree the king made supports for Jehovahs Temple and the royal palace, and lyres and harps for the singers. Never again was sandalwood like this imported into Israel, nor has any been seen there to this day.
12 Desta madeira de sândalo o rei mandou fazer corrimões para a Casa do Senhor e para o palácio real, bem como harpas e liras para os cantores. Tal madeira nunca se havia trazido para ali, nem se viu mais semelhante madeira até o dia de hoje.
13 King Solomon gave the queen of Sheba all her desire. Whatever she requested in addition to what he gave her freely from the impulse of his heart. She and her servants went back to her country.
13 O rei Salomão deu à rainha de Sabá tudo o que ela quis e pediu, além de tudo o que lhe deu por sua generosidade real. Então ela voltou e foi para a sua terra, ela e os seus servos.
14 Each year King Solomon received about twenty-five tons of gold.
14 O peso do ouro que se trazia a Salomão a cada ano era de cerca de vinte e três toneladas,
15 This was in addition to what came to him from the business of the traders, and from all the kings of the Arabians, and from the rulers of the country.
15 além do que entrava dos vendedores e dos negociantes, de todos os reis da Arábia e dos governadores da terra.
16 Solomon made two hundred large shields of hammered gold. About fifteen pounds of gold went into each shield.
16 O rei Salomão fez duzentos grandes escudos de ouro batido, empregando sete quilos e duzentos gramas de ouro em cada escudo.
17 He made three hundred smaller body-covers of hammered gold. Three pounds of gold was in every cover. The king put them in the house of the Woods of Lebanon.
17 Fez também trezentos escudos menores de ouro batido, empregando um quilo e oitocentos gramas de ouro em cada escudo. E o rei os pôs na Casa do Bosque do Líbano.
18 The king made a great ivory throne plated with the best gold.
18 O rei fez também um grande trono de marfim e o cobriu de ouro puríssimo.
19 There were six steps going up to it. The top of it was round at the back. There were arms on the two sides of the throne and two lions by the side of the arms.
19 O trono tinha seis degraus, e o encosto do trono, ao alto, era redondo. De ambos os lados do assento havia um braço, e a figura de um leão junto a cada um dos braços.
20 Twelve lions were placed on one side and on the other side on the six steps: there was nothing like it in any kingdom.
20 Doze leões estavam ali sobre os seis degraus, um em cada extremo destes. Nunca se havia feito obra semelhante em nenhum outro reino.
21 All King Solomon's drinking vessels were of gold. All the vessels of the house of the Woods of Lebanon were of the best gold. Not one was of silver, for no one gave a thought to silver in the days of King Solomon.
21 Todas as taças que o rei Salomão usava para beber eram de ouro, e também de ouro puro eram todos os objetos da Casa do Bosque do Líbano. Não havia nada de prata, porque nos dias de Salomão não se dava nenhum valor a ela.
22 For the king had Tarshish-ships at sea with the ships of Hiram. Once every three years the Tarshish-ships came with gold and silver and ivory and apes monkeys and peacocks.
22 Porque o rei tinha no mar uma frota de Társis, junto com os navios de Hirão. De três em três anos, a frota voltava de Társis, trazendo ouro, prata, marfim, bugios e pavões.
23 King Solomon was greater than all the kings of the earth in wealth and in wisdom.
23 Assim, o rei Salomão excedeu a todos os reis do mundo, tanto em riqueza como em sabedoria.
24 They came from all over the earth to see Solomon and to listen to his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.
24 Todo o mundo queria ver Salomão para ouvir a sabedoria que Deus tinha posto no coração dele.
25 Everyone took presents such as vessels of silver and vessels of gold, and robes, and coats of metal, and spices, and horses, and beasts of transport, regularly year by year.
25 Cada um trazia o seu presente: objetos de prata e de ouro, roupas, armaduras, especiarias, cavalos e mulas. E foi assim ano após ano.
26 Solomon gathered war-carriages and horsemen. He had one thousand, four hundred carriages and twelve thousand horsemen, whom he kept, some in the carriage-towns and some with the king at Jerusalem.
26 Salomão ajuntou carros de guerra e cavaleiros. Tinha mil e quatrocentos carros de guerra e doze mil cavaleiros, que espalhou pelas cidades onde mantinha os carros, deixando uma parte junto ao rei, em Jerusalém.
27 The king made silver as common as stones in Jerusalem and cedars like the sycamore-trees of the lowlands in number.
27 O rei fez com que, em Jerusalém, a prata fosse tão comum como as pedras e os cedros fossem tão numerosos como os sicômoros que estão na Sefelá.
28 Solomon's string of horses came from Egypt and from Kue. The king's traders got them at a price from Kue.
28 Os cavalos de Salomão vinham do Egito e da Cilícia, e comerciantes do rei os importavam da Cilícia por certo preço.
29 A war-carriage might be obtained from Egypt for six hundred shekels of silver, and a horse for a hundred and fifty. They got them at the same rate for all the kings of the Hittites and the kings of Aram.
29 Importava-se do Egito um carro de guerra por seiscentas moedas de prata e um cavalo por cento e cinquenta. Nas mesmas condições, as caravanas os traziam e os exportavam para todos os reis dos heteus e para os reis da Síria.
