1 Then Solomon began to build the temple of the LORD in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where the LORD had appeared to his father David. It was on the threshing floor of Araunah "the Jebusite, the place provided by David.
1 Salomão começou a construir o Templo do Senhor Deus em Jerusalém, no monte Moriá, onde Deus havia aparecido ao rei Davi, o pai de Salomão. O lugar que Davi tinha escolhido era o terreiro de malhar trigo de Araúna, o jebuseu.
2 He began building on the second day of the second month in the fourth year of his reign.

8 He built the Most Holy Place, its length corresponding to the width of the temple —twenty cubits long and twenty cubits wide. He overlaid the inside with six hundred talents "of fine gold.
8 A sala interna, isto é, o Lugar Santíssimo , media nove metros de comprimento por nove de largura, que era a mesma largura do Templo. Para revestir as paredes do Lugar Santíssimo foram usados mais de vinte mil quilos de ouro.

Cada querubim tinha duas asas, e cada asa media dois metros e vinte e cinco centímetros de comprimento. Os querubins estavam com as asas estendidas, de maneira que a asa de um tocava numa parede, e a asa do outro tocava na outra parede, e no meio da sala a asa de um tocava na asa do outro. 11 The total wingspan of the cherubim was twenty cubits. One wing of the first cherub was five cubits "long and touched the temple wall, while its other wing, also five cubits long, touched the wing of the other cherub.

16 He made interwoven chains "and put them on top of the pillars. He also made a hundred pomegranates and attached them to the chains.
16 O alto das colunas era enfeitado com um desenho de correntes entrelaçadas e de romãs de bronze, que eram em número de cem.
17 He erected the pillars in the front of the temple, one to the south and one to the north. The one to the south he named Jakin "and the one to the north Boaz. [^12]
