1 Pe shɨnɨɨsho, mʉwʉleshe uwubhiibhi wonti, ɨlenga, ishisa ɨshɨ lenga, ʉmwone, nu wulumanyi.
1 Deponde, pois, toda malícia, toda astúcia, fingimentos, invejas e toda espécie de maledicência.
2 Anza she abhaana abheela bhakwanza izibha ɨlya bhanyina bhaabho, nɨɨmwe mʉbhe nɨ shʉʉmɨlwa ishi zibha ilyinza ilyi zwi lya Mʉlʉngʉ. Ɨnga mwamwela izwi lɨnɨɨlyo, mʉngakhola kʉkʉla mu wuposhi.
2 as newborn babes desire earnestly the pure mental milk of the word, that by it ye may grow up to salvation,
3 Ishi mulinjile, khabhɨlɨ mwandile kʉmanya kʉtɨ ʉMwene mwinza.
3 if indeed ye have tasted that the Lord {is} good.
4 ɄMwene uYeesu we liwe ɨlya wuumi ɨlya kʉzenjela. Iwe lɨnɨɨlyo abhantʉ bhálikhaanile, lyoli ʉMʉlʉngʉ álɨsabhʉʉye, khabhɨlɨ lya lushindikho pamiiso gaakwe. Ishi mʉsejelelaje uYeesu,
4 — ausente —
5 pe nɨɨmwe ʉMʉlʉngʉ akʉbhabhombela anza mawe aga wuumi kʉzenga inyumba ɨya shifinjile. Ɨmwe mwe bhapuutili abhafinjile mwe mukufumwa imfinjile ɨzya shifinjile zye zɨkʉmʉkhondezya ʉMʉlʉngʉ kʉ makha ga Yeesu Kilisiti.
5 yourselves also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
6 Kʉnongwa ye uWusimbe uWufinjile wʉkʉtɨ,
6 Because it is contained in the scripture: Behold, I lay in Zion a corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believes on him shall not be put to shame.
7 Iwe liniili lya lushindikho kukwinyu ɨmwe mwe mʉkʉmwɨtɨkha, ɨleelo kʉ bhaala bhe bhatakʉmwɨtɨkha,
7 To you therefore who believe {is} the preciousness; but to the disobedient, the stone which the builders cast away as worthless, this is become head of {the} corner,
8 Khabhɨlɨ,
8 and a stone of stumbling and rock of offence; {who} stumble at the word, being disobedient to which also they have been appointed.
9 Ɨleelo ɨmwe ʉMʉlʉngʉ abhasabhʉʉye mʉbhe mwe bhantʉ bhaakwe. Ɨmwe mwe bhapuutili abha shɨmwene, khabhɨlɨ ɨnsɨ ye yɨkʉmʉbhombela ʉMʉlʉngʉ wʉʉyo mwene, khabhɨlɨ mwe bhafinjile. Mwásabhuliilwe kʉtɨ mʉbhe mwe bhalumbiilili bhɨ mbombo inyinza ɨzya Mʉlʉngʉ, we ábhabhɨlɨshɨɨye kʉtɨ mwepe mu khiisi ɨnga mʉbhe kʉkwakwe mʉ lʉkhozyo ulwinza.
9 But *ye* {are} a chosen race, a kingly priesthood, a holy nation, a people for a possession, that ye might set forth the excellencies of him who has called you out of darkness to his wonderful light;
10 Pawandɨlo mʉtáamɨle mwe bhantʉ bha Mʉlʉngʉ, ɨleelo ishi mwe bhantʉ bhaakwe. Khabhɨlɨ mʉtáposheleeye ishisa sha Mʉlʉngʉ, ɨleelo ishi mʉshɨposheleeye.
10 who once {were} not a people, but now God's people; who were not enjoying mercy, but now have found mercy.
11 Bhaganwa bhaanɨ, ɨnkʉbhalamba, kʉnongwa ye mwe bhajeni, khabhɨlɨ mukushizanya, zɨshɨmbɨlaje ɨnsʉngʉkho zyinyu ɨzya mʉbhɨlɨ zye zikulwa ʉwʉlʉgʉ na mooyo giinyu.
11 Beloved, I exhort {you}, as strangers and sojourners, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
12 Mʉbhe nɨ njendo inyinza pɨlongolela pa bhe bhatakʉmwɨtɨkha ʉMʉlʉngʉ, ɨnga bhakʉbhandɨla amalenga kʉtɨ mʉkʉbhomba imbiibhi, bhazɨlolaje ɨmbombo zyinyu inyinza. Pe bhatɨmʉpaale ʉMʉlʉngʉ kʉnongwa yiinyu pi siku lye akhayɨnza kʉlonga.
12 having your conversation honest among the Gentiles, that {as to that} in which they speak against you as evildoers, they may through {your} good works, {themselves} witnessing {them}, glorify God in {the} day of visitation.
13 Kʉnongwa ye mwe bhantʉ bhe bhakʉmʉlandata ʉMwene uYeesu muzitinikhaje ɨndajɨzyo ɨzyɨ nsɨ yiinyu. Mumutinikhaje ʉmʉpɨtɨ wiinyu ʉwɨ nsɨ, kʉnongwa ye ʉweene we mwamuli ʉmʉpɨtɨ ʉwa bhantʉ bhonti.
13 — ausente —
14 Khabhɨlɨ mubhatinikhaje abhalongozi abha mɨkoa bhe ʉmʉpɨtɨ ʉwɨ nsɨ abhasebhile. Mʉbhombaje shɨnɨɨsho kʉnongwa ye abheene bhabhishiilwe kʉtɨ bhabhapanje ulufundo abhantʉ bhe bhakʉbhomba imbiibhi na kʉbhapaala bhaala bhe bhakʉbhomba inyinza.
14 or to rulers as sent by him, for vengeance on evildoers, and praise to them that do well.
15 Ɨnkʉlonga shɨnɨɨsho kʉnongwa ye ʉMʉlʉngʉ akwanza mʉbhombaje inyinza ɨnga bhaala bhe bhatalɨ nu wumanyi bhatabhanje na lyolyonti ɨlya kʉlonga kubhabhuna ɨmwe.
15 Because so is the will of God, that by well-doing ye put to silence the ignorance of senseless men;
16 She poope mwe bhasatʉlwe, mʉtabhombelaje ʉwʉsatʉlwe wiinyu kʉbha lɨdala lya kʉbhomba imbiibhi, lyoli mwɨkhalaje anza she abhabhombi bha Mʉlʉngʉ bhakwanzɨwa kwɨkhala.
16 as free, and not as having liberty as a cloak of malice, but as God's bondmen.
17 Shew honour to all, love the brotherhood, fear God, honour the king.
18 Ɨmwe bhatumwa, mubhatinikhaje abhapɨtɨ bhiinyu, khabhɨlɨ mubhashindikhaje, te kʉ bhaala bhe bhinza na bhatonsu bheene, lyoli na bhaala bhe bhakhali.
18 Servants, {be} subject with all fear to your masters, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the ill-tempered.
19 Uwu we winza nalyoli, ɨnga umuntu akujimbiilila amayɨmba ge atakhondeeye kʉnongwa ye amanyile kʉtɨ ʉMʉlʉngʉ she akwanza.
19 For this {is} acceptable, if one, for conscience sake towards God, endure griefs, suffering unjustly.
20 Mʉtangamʉkhondezya ʉMʉlʉngʉ kwɨ dala ɨlya kujimbiilila ɨnga bhakubhafunda kʉnongwa yi mbiibhi zyinyu. Ɨleelo ɨnga mukujimbiilila kʉyɨmba kʉnongwa ye mubhombile inyinza, pe ʉMʉlʉngʉ akʉbhaseshela.
20 For what glory {is it}, if sinning and being buffeted ye shall bear {it}? but if, doing good and suffering, ye shall bear {it}, this is acceptable with God.
21 Mʉkwanzɨwa kʉtɨ mujimbililaje shɨnɨɨsho, kʉnongwa ye uKilisiti wʉʉyo áyimbile kʉnongwa yiinyu. Khabhɨlɨ akhabhaleshela ɨshɨkholanyo, kʉtɨ mwenyezyaje kʉbhomba zye ábhombile.
21 For to this have ye been called; for Christ also has suffered for you, leaving you a model that ye should follow in his steps:
22 “Ʉweene atábhombile imbiibhi,
22 who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth;
23 We bhakumuliga atágalusiizye izwi naalimo ɨlya kuliga, we bhakʉmʉyɨmvwa atálinjile kʉtabhʉlɨzya naalimo ɨlya kʉbhoogofwa, lyoli zyonti ámʉlesheeye ʉMʉlʉngʉ we akʉlonga abhantʉ ku wugolosu.
23 who, {when} reviled, reviled not again; {when} suffering, threatened not; but gave {himself} over into the hands of him who judges righteously;
24 UKilisiti wʉʉyo ápimbile imbiibhi zyɨtʉ mʉ mʉbhɨlɨ waakwe pa shɨkhobhenhanyo. Ábhombile shɨnɨɨsho ɨnga ɨtwe tʉtatabhaalwe winza ni mbiibhi, lyoli tʉbhe nʉ wɨɨkhalo ʉwa wugolosu. Ʉweene bhámuvwalaziizye, ɨnga ɨmwe mʉpone.
24 who himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, in order that, being dead to sins, we may live to righteousness: by whose stripes ye have been healed.
25 Mwáteejile anzɨ ngoole zye zyáteejile, ɨleelo ishi mʉmʉgalʉshɨɨye ʉMwene uYeesu, uMudiimi wiinyu, khabhɨlɨ Mulindiilili wa mooyo giinyu.
25 For ye were going astray as sheep, but have now returned to the shepherd and overseer of your souls.
