1 Paahi etu nhiyeke uwonya uriwoothe ni woothacha ni unafiki ni ihache ni nulhumo no uruwana.
1 Deponde, pois, toda malícia, toda astúcia, fingimentos, invejas e toda espécie de maledicência.
2 Nkhalheke thoko ashaana ashikaani ayarelhe naanano, chinophavelha aya mapelhe, ni inyu chiicho mphavelheke mapelhe o uhithakanihiya o Iphumu ya Nlhuku, ikhalhe wiira mwawuriaka yayo munnuwe ni woopolhiya.
2 as newborn babes desire earnestly the pure mental milk of the word, that by it ye may grow up to salvation,
3 Thoko Malhove Matakatifu chinohimia aya, “Nhochuwelha vano wiira, Athithi phi orera.”
3 if indeed ye have tasted that the Lord {is} good.
4 Mmweeke wa Athithi, nlhuku nikumi naakhotiye na attu nansho Nlhuku nkaathanlha nenno wiira phi nlhuku no ukhulhuvelhiya.

5 Ni inyu mmweeke thoko malhuku makumi athanlhiye utheka inupa yo Iphumu ya Nlhuku, nkhalhaka opochera ishaani atakatifu anokumiha isadaka cho munnepani chonteelhiha Nlhuku wo iphiro ya Yesu Kuristo.
5 yourselves also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
6 Ukhalhawaya Malhove Matakatifu aholhepiya wiira,
6 Because it is contained in the scripture: Behold, I lay in Zion a corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believes on him shall not be put to shame.
7 Paahi etu uwaninyu mwaatti nnorumelhelhava, nna nlhuku nna phi no ukhulhuvelhiya thoko Malhove Matakatifu chinohimia aya. Nansho wa attu ahinrumelhelha
7 To you therefore who believe {is} the preciousness; but to the disobedient, the stone which the builders cast away as worthless, this is become head of {the} corner,
8 Tho vakittu vakina Malhove Matakatifu aneera,
8 and a stone of stumbling and rock of offence; {who} stumble at the word, being disobedient to which also they have been appointed.
9 Nansho mwaatti phi iyari ithanlhiye, opochera ishaani e imwene, nikosho nitakatifu nithanlhiye uvara mitheko cha Nlhuku, wiira nhimiache mitheko chawe owiihanneni nkhume mwiipiphini nkookelhihani munthukoni mwawe mwo ushangiha.
9 But *ye* {are} a chosen race, a kingly priesthood, a holy nation, a people for a possession, that ye might set forth the excellencies of him who has called you out of darkness to his wonderful light;
10 Khalhayi mwaatti khamwaari attu a Nlhuku nansho vano phi attu awe. Yeyo ikatema iyo Nlhuku khowonenlheni ikiriri nansho vano howoonelhani ikiriri.
10 who once {were} not a people, but now God's people; who were not enjoying mercy, but now have found mercy.
11 Ashilhoko aka, kinoulhelhani thoko alheto ama attu o uvira velhaponi va! Nshembeke nikakata no mwiiruttuni nihinaathana ni minepa chinyu.
11 Beloved, I exhort {you}, as strangers and sojourners, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
12 Mwaakhalhaneke rata attu ahinchuwenlhe Nlhuku, ikhalhe wiira ata yowootheriakani wiira nhowonya, awe anthimicha Nlhuku nihuku no uwa Athithi nno, vanohalha aya woona mitheko chinyu choombone.
12 having your conversation honest among the Gentiles, that {as to that} in which they speak against you as evildoers, they may through {your} good works, {themselves} witnessing {them}, glorify God in {the} day of visitation.
13 Mwiiwelhelheke kila ittu inolheheriya ni attu, wo nlhatu na Athithi. Mweewelhelheke amwene arii ni ikuru yuulhupalhe,

14 ama attu anotawara athanlhiye ni Nlhuku wiira aatwarushe attu anopanga cho uhilhoka ni waatotopelha attu anopanga moombone.
14 or to rulers as sent by him, for vengeance on evildoers, and praise to them that do well.
15 Ukhalhawaya Nlhuku nothanana wiira mwaamaalhihe attu ahichuwenlhe ittu ni akumbafu vanopanga inyu chittu choombone.
15 Because so is the will of God, that by well-doing ye put to silence the ignorance of senseless men;
16 Nkhalheke thoko aneethi ni uneethi inyu uyo uhikhalhe phi iphiro yo uvitha uhilhoka winyu. Nansho nkhalheke thoko anamitheko a Nlhuku.
16 as free, and not as having liberty as a cloak of malice, but as God's bondmen.
17 Mwaathimicheke attu onkhaye. Mwaattuneke ashilhoko inyu. Munthimicheke Nlhuku. Mwaathimicheke amwene.
17 Shew honour to all, love the brotherhood, fear God, honour the king.
18 Ni inyu ipotta va, mwaarumelhelheke rata manyaapwiiya inyu anourumani mitheko chaya. Nheewelhelhe attu o nrima woombone ama o maalha vekha ayaru nansho mweewelhelheke ni attu o mahuchuru ayo.
18 Servants, {be} subject with all fear to your masters, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the ill-tempered.
19 Ukhalhawaya wowo phi urera nrima, ntu avilhelhaka ntwarusho nihinophwanelhiya awe, wo uchuwelha wiira Nlhuku nowa ammaha ibarakha.
19 For this {is} acceptable, if one, for conscience sake towards God, endure griefs, suffering unjustly.
20 Ukhalhawaya nnohalha uttuviyani mwavilhelhaka ntwarusho no uwonya winyu? Nansho mwavilhelhaka vanotwarushiya inyu wo nlhatu wo upanga morera, Nlhuku nowa ovahani ibarakha wo nlhatu thoko yoyo.
20 For what glory {is it}, if sinning and being buffeted ye shall bear {it}? but if, doing good and suffering, ye shall bear {it}, this is acceptable with God.
21 Yayo phi ayo ehanelhiye inyu ukhalhawaya Kuristo ni uyo ahotwarushiya wo nlhatu winyu, nkoohiyerani nlhikaaniho, paahi etu muntwariheke.
21 For to this have ye been called; for Christ also has suffered for you, leaving you a model that ye should follow in his steps:
22 Yoyo khaapannge ittu yo uwonya mena khoothanche vamalhakuni vawe.
22 who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth;
23 Vanruwanne aya khaakhunlhe nlhove no uhilhoka. Vaatwarushiya awe khoopopinhe attu nansho ankhulhuvenlhe Nlhuku, nohukumulha chittu we ikekhiaye.
23 who, {when} reviled, reviled not again; {when} suffering, threatened not; but gave {himself} over into the hands of him who judges righteously;
24 Kuristo mwanene ahokusha uwonya wihu mwiiruttuni mwawe vansalaabani, wiira nikhwe mu uwonyani, niwe naakhalha akumi mu ikekhiani. Wo waatiya wawe mwaatti nholhamihiya.
24 who himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, in order that, being dead to sins, we may live to righteousness: by whose stripes ye have been healed.
25 Ukhalhawaya mwaatti mwaari ikhondoro chinothwelhelha nansho vano nhonhokolhelha Nshunga ni O weemelhelha ukumi inyu.
25 For ye were going astray as sheep, but have now returned to the shepherd and overseer of your souls.
