1 Then having gone aboard the bark, he repassed, and went to his own city;
1 Jesus entrou num barco e atravessou o mar até a cidade onde morava.
2 where they brought to him a paralytic, laid upon a bed. Jesus perceiving their faith, said to the paralytic, Son, take courage, your sins are forgiven you.
2 Algumas pessoas lhe trouxeram um paralítico deitado numa maca. Ao ver a fé que eles tinham, Jesus disse ao paralítico: “Anime-se, filho! Seus pecados estão perdoados”.
3 On which some of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemes.
3 Alguns mestres da lei disseram a si mesmos: “Isso é blasfêmia!”.
4 But Jesus knowing their sentiments, said, Why do you harbor evil thoughts?
4 Jesus, percebendo o que pensavam, perguntou: “Por que vocês reagem com tanta maldade em seu coração?
5 Which is easier-to say, Your sins are forgiven; or to say, with effect -Arise and walk?
5 O que é mais fácil dizer: ‘Seus pecados estão perdoados’ ou ‘Levante-se e ande’?
6 But that you may know that the Son of Man has power upon the earth to forgive sins; Arise, then, (said he to the paralytic,) take up your bed and go home.
6 Mas eu lhes mostrarei que o Filho do Homem tem autoridade na terra para perdoar pecados”. Então disse ao paralítico: “Levante-se, pegue sua maca e vá para casa”.
7 Accordingly he arose, and went home.
7 O homem se levantou e foi para casa.
8 And the people saw and wondered, glorifying God, who had given such power to men.
8 Ao ver isso, a multidão se encheu de temor e louvou a Deus por ele ter dado tal autoridade aos seres humanos.
9 As Jesus departed thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the toll office; to whom he said, Follow me. And he arose and followed him.
9 Enquanto Jesus caminhava, viu um homem chamado Mateus sentado onde se coletavam impostos. “Siga-me”, disse-lhe Jesus, e Mateus se levantou e o seguiu.
10 Afterward Jesus being at table in a house, many publicans and sinners came, and placed themselves with him and his disciples.
10 Mais tarde, na casa de Mateus, Jesus e seus discípulos estavam à mesa, acompanhados de um grande número de cobradores de impostos e pecadores.
11 Some of the Pharisees observing this, said to his disciples, Why does your teacher eat with publicans and sinners?
11 Quando os fariseus viram isso, perguntaram aos discípulos: “Por que o seu mestre come com cobradores de impostos e pecadores?”.
12 Jesus hearing them, answered, The whole need not a physician, but the sick.
12 Jesus ouviu o que disseram e respondeu: “As pessoas saudáveis não precisam de médico, mas sim os doentes”.
13 «Go, therefore, and learn what this means,» 'I desire humanity, and not sacrifice:' 'for I came to call, not the righteous, but sinners.'
13 E acrescentou: “Agora vão e aprendam o significado desta passagem das Escrituras: ‘Quero que demonstrem misericórdia, e não que ofereçam sacrifícios’. Pois não vim para chamar os justos, mas sim os pecadores”.
14 Then John's disciples addressing him, said, We and the Pharisees often fast: why do your disciples never fast?
14 Os discípulos de João Batista foram a Jesus e lhe perguntaram: “Por que seus discípulos não têm o hábito de jejuar, como nós e os fariseus?”.
15 Jesus answered, Can the bridesmen mourn while the bridegroom is with them? But the time will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then they will fast.
15 Jesus respondeu: “Por acaso os convidados de um casamento ficam de luto enquanto festejam com o noivo? Um dia, porém, o noivo lhes será tirado, e então jejuarão.
16 No person mends an old garment with undressed cloth; else the patch itself tears the garment, and makes a greater rent.
16 “Além disso, ninguém remendaria uma roupa velha usando pano novo. O pano rasgaria a roupa, deixando um buraco ainda maior.
17 Neither do people put new wine into old leather bottles; otherwise the bottles burst: and thus, both the wine is spilt, and the bottles are rendered useless. But they put new wine into new bottles, and bother are preserved.
17 “E ninguém colocaria vinho novo em velhos recipientes de couro. O couro se arrebentaria, deixando vazar o vinho, e os recipientes velhos se estragariam. Vinho novo é guardado em recipientes novos, para que ambos se conservem”.
18 While he was speaking, a ruler came, and prostrating himself, said, My daughter is by this time dead; but come, and lay your hand upon her, and she will revive.
18 Enquanto Jesus ainda falava, o líder da sinagoga local veio e se ajoelhou diante dele. “Minha filha acaba de morrer”, disse. “Mas, se o senhor vier e puser as mãos sobre ela, ela viverá.”
19 And Jesus arose, and, as he followed him, with his disciples,
19 Então Jesus e seus discípulos se levantaram e foram com ele.
20 a woman, who had been twelve years afflicted with a bloody issue, coming behind, touched the tuft of his mantle;
20 Nesse instante, uma mulher que havia doze anos sofria de hemorragia se aproximou por trás dele e tocou na borda de seu manto,
21 for she said within herself, If I but touch his mantle, I shall recover.
21 pois pensava: “Se eu apenas tocar em seu manto, serei curada”.
22 Jesus turning about, saw her, and said, Daughter, take courage, your faith has cured you. And the woman was well from that instant.
22 Jesus se voltou e, quando a viu, disse: “Filha, anime-se! Sua fé a curou”. A partir daquele momento, a mulher ficou curada.
23 Being come into the ruler's house, and seeing the players on the flute, with the crowd, making a bustle,
23 Quando Jesus chegou à casa do líder da sinagoga, viu a multidão agitada e ouviu a música fúnebre.
24 he said to them, Withdraw, for the young woman is not dead, but asleep. And they derided him:
24 “Saiam daqui!”, disse ele. “A menina não está morta; está apenas dormindo.” Os que estavam ali riram dele.
25 but when the people were put out, he entered, and having taken her by the hand, the young woman arose.
25 Depois que a multidão foi colocada para fora, Jesus entrou e tomou a menina pela mão, e ela se levantou.
26 Now the fame of this action spread through all the country.
26 A notícia desse milagre se espalhou por toda a região.
27 When Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, Son of David, have pity upon us.
27 Depois que Jesus saiu dali, dois cegos foram atrás dele, gritando: “Filho de Davi, tenha misericórdia de nós!”.
28 Being come into the house, the blind men approached him: and Jesus said to them, Do you believe I can do this? They answered, Yes, Master.
28 Quando Jesus entrou em casa, os cegos se aproximaram, e ele lhes perguntou: “Vocês creem que eu posso fazê-los ver?”. “Sim, Senhor”, responderam eles.
29 Then he touched their eyes, saying, Be it to you according to your faith.
29 Ele tocou nos olhos dos dois e disse: “Seja feito conforme a sua fé”.
30 Immediately their eyes were opened. And Jesus strictly charging them, said, Take care that no person know it.
30 Então os olhos deles se abriram e puderam ver. Jesus os advertiu severamente: “Não contem a ninguém”.
31 But being departed, they spread his fame through all that country.
31 Eles, porém, saíram e espalharam sua fama por toda a região.
32 They were scarcely gone, when a dumb demoniac was presented to him.
32 Quando partiram, foi levado a Jesus um homem que não conseguia falar porque estava possuído por um demônio.
33 The demon being expelled, the dumb spoke, and the people wondered, saying, Nothing like this was ever seen in Israel.
33 O demônio foi expulso e, em seguida, o homem começou a falar. As multidões ficaram admiradas. “Jamais aconteceu algo parecido em Israel!”, exclamavam.
34 But the Pharisees said, He expels the demons by the prince of the demons.
34 Os fariseus, contudo, disseram: “Ele expulsa demônios porque o príncipe dos demônios lhe dá poder”.
35 Then Jesus went through all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and proclaiming the glad tidings of the Reign, and curing every disease and every malady.
35 Jesus andava por todas as cidades e todos os povoados da região, ensinando nas sinagogas, anunciando as boas-novas do reino e curando todo tipo de enfermidade e doença.
36 But when he saw the multitudes, he had compassion upon them, because they were scattered and exposed, like a flock without a shepherd.
36 Quando viu as multidões, teve compaixão delas, pois estavam confusas e desamparadas, como ovelhas sem pastor.
37 Then he said to his disciples, The harvest is plentiful, but the reapers are few:
37 Disse aos discípulos: “A colheita é grande, mas os trabalhadores são poucos.
38 entreat, therefore, the Lord of the harvest, that he would send laborers to reap it.
38 Orem ao Senhor da colheita; peçam que ele envie mais trabalhadores para seus campos”.
