1 Now Joshua was old, well stricken in years; and the Lord said unto him, Thou art old, stricken in years, and of the land there remaineth yet very much to be taken possession of.
1 Josué já era idoso, e o S enhor lhe disse: “Você está envelhecendo, e ainda há muita terra a ser conquistada.
2 This is the land that yet remaineth: All the circles of the Philistines, and all the land of the Geshurites,
2 Este é o território que resta: todas as regiões dos filisteus e dos gesuritas;
3 From the Shichor, which runneth before Egypt, even unto the boundary of ‘Ekron northward, is counted to the Canaanites; the five lords of the Philistines; the Gazzathites, and the Ashdodites, the Eshkelonites, the Gittites, and the ‘Ekronites; also the ‘Avvim;
3 o território mais amplo dos cananeus, desde o ribeiro de Sior, na divisa com o Egito, até a divisa de Ecrom, ao norte. Abrange o território de cinco governantes filisteus: de Gaza, de Asdode, de Ascalom, de Gate e de Ecrom.
4 On the south, all the land of the Canaanites, and Me’arah that belongeth to the Zidonians, up to Aphek, up to the border of the Emorites;
4 Também falta conquistar a terra dos aveus, ao sul. Ao norte, a seguinte região ainda não foi conquistada: toda a terra dos cananeus, incluindo Meara, pertencente aos sidônios, até Afeca, na divisa com os amorreus;
5 And the land of the Giblites, and all Lebanon, toward the rising of the sun, from Ba’al–gad under mount Chermon up to the entrance of Chamath.
5 a terra dos gibleus e toda a região montanhosa do Líbano, a leste, desde Baal-Gade, ao pé do monte Hermom, até Lebo-Hamate;
6 All the inhabitants of the mountain from Lebanon unto Missrephoth–mayim, all the Zidonians: these will I drive out from before the children of Israel; only divide thou it by lot unto the Israelites for an inheritance, as I have commanded thee.
6 e toda a região montanhosa, a oeste, desde o Líbano até Misrefote-Maim, incluindo toda a terra dos sidônios. “Eu mesmo expulsarei esses povos da terra de diante dos israelitas. Não deixem, portanto, de dar esta terra a Israel como herança, conforme eu lhes ordenei.
7 And now divide this land for an inheritance unto the nine tribes, and the half tribe of Menasseh.
7 Dividam todo este território como herança entre as nove tribos e a meia tribo de Manassés”.
8 With him the Reubenites and the Gadites have received their inheritance, which Moses gave unto them, beyond the Jordan eastward, as Moses the servant of the Lord hath given them;
8 A outra metade da tribo de Manassés e as tribos de Rúben e Gade já haviam recebido sua porção de terra como herança a leste do Jordão, designada para eles por Moisés, servo do S enhor .
9 From ‘Aro’er, that is upon the bank of the brook Arnon, and the city that is in the midst of the brook, and all the plain of Medeba up to Dibon;
9 Seu território se estendia desde Aroer, na beira do vale do Arnom, incluindo a cidade no meio do vale, passando pelo planalto além de Medeba, até Dibom.
10 And all the cities of Sichon the king of the Emorites, who reigned over Cheshbon, up to the border of the children of ‘Ammon;
10 Também abrangia todas as cidades de Seom, rei dos amorreus, que havia reinado em Hesbom, e se estendia até a divisa de Amom.
11 And Gil’ad, and the territory of the Geshurites and Ma’achathites, and all mount Chermon, and all Bashan up to Salchah;
11 Incluía Gileade, o território dos reinos de Gesur e Maaca, todo o monte Hermom e toda a região de Basã, até Salcá,
12 All the kingdom of ‘Og in Bashan, who reigned in ‘Ashtaroth and in Edre’i; who had been left of the remnant of the Rephaim; and Moses smote them, and cast them out.
12 e também todo o reino de Ogue, rei de Basã, que havia reinado em Astarote e Edrei. O rei Ogue era o último dos refains, pois Moisés os havia atacado e expulsado.
13 Nevertheless the children of Israel expelled not the Geshurites and the Ma’achathites; but the Geshurites and the Ma’achathites continued to dwell in the midst of the Israelites until this day.
13 Mas os israelitas não expulsaram os habitantes de Gesur e Maaca, de modo que vivem no meio de Israel até hoje.
14 Only unto the tribe of Levi he gave no inheritance: the fire–offerings of the Lord, the God of Israel, are their inheritance, as he hath spoken unto them.
14 Moisés não havia designado porção alguma de terra como herança para a tribo de Levi. Em vez disso, conforme o S enhor lhes havia prometido, sua herança vinha das ofertas especiais para o S enhor , o Deus de Israel.
15 And Moses gave unto the tribe of the children of Reuben according to their families;
15 Moisés havia designado a seguinte área aos clãs da tribo de Rúben:
16 And their territory was from ‘Aro’er, that is on the bank of the brook Arnon, and the city that is in the midst of the brook, and all the plain by Medeba;
16 Seu território se estendia desde Aroer, na beira do vale do Arnom, incluindo a cidade no meio do vale, até o planalto além de Medeba.
17 Cheshbon, and all its cities that are in the plain; Dibon, and Bamoth–ba’al, and Beth–ba’al–me’on,
17 Abrangia Hesbom e as outras cidades do planalto: Dibom, Bamote-Baal, Bete-Baal-Meom,
18 And Yahzah, and Kedemoth, and Mepha’ath,
18 Jaza, Quedemote, Mefaate,
19 And Kiryathayim, and Sibmah, and Zereth–hashachar on the mount of the valley,
19 Quiriataim, Sibma, Zerete-Saar, na colina acima do vale,
20 And Beth–pe’or, and the declivities of Pisgah, and Beth–hayeshimoth,
20 Bete-Peor, as encostas do Pisga e Bete-Jesimote.
21 And all the cities of the plain, and all the kingdom of Sichon the king of the Emorites, who reigned in Cheshbon, whom Moses smote with the princes of Midian, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Chur, and Reba’, the dukes of Sichon, the dwellers of the country.
21 O território de Rúben também incluía todas as cidades do planalto e todo o reino de Seom, o rei amorreu que havia reinado em Hesbom. Seom havia sido morto por Moisés junto com os líderes de Midiã: Evi, Requém, Zur, Hur e Reba, príncipes que habitavam naquela região e eram aliados de Seom.
22 And Bil’am the son of Be’or, the soothsayer, did the children of Israel slay with the sword among their slain.
22 Os israelitas também mataram Balaão, filho de Beor, que usava mágica para prever o futuro.
23 And the boundary of the children of Reuben was the Jordan, and its bordering territory. This was the inheritance of the children of Reuben after their families, the cities and their villages.
23 O rio Jordão marcava a divisa oeste da tribo de Rúben. As cidades e seus povoados ao redor nessa região foram entregues aos clãs da tribo de Rúben como sua herança.
24 And Moses gave unto the tribe of Gad, unto the children of Gad according to their families;
24 Moisés havia designado a seguinte área aos clãs da tribo de Gade:
25 And their territory was Ya’zer, and all the cities of Gil’ad, and half the land of the children of ‘Ammon, up to ‘Aro’er that is before Rabbah;
25 Seu território abrangia Jazar, todas as cidades de Gileade e metade da terra de Amom, até a cidade de Aroer, logo a oeste de Rabá.
26 And from Cheshbon unto Ramath–mizpeh, and Betonim; and from Machanayim up to the border of Debir;
26 Estendia-se desde Hesbom até Ramate-Mispá e Betonim, e desde Maanaim até o território de Lo-Debar.
27 And in the valley, Beth–haram, and Beth–nimrah, and Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sichon the king of Cheshbon, the Jordan and its bordering territory, up to the edge of the sea of Kinnereth on the other side of the Jordan eastward.
27 No vale, incluía Bete-Arã, Bete-Ninra, Sucote, Zafom, e o restante das terras de Seom, rei de Hesbom. A divisa ocidental acompanhava o rio Jordão e se estendia ao norte até a ponta do mar da Galileia, e depois fazia uma curva para o leste.
28 This is the inheritance of the children of Gad after their families, the cities and their villages.
28 As cidades com os povoados ao redor foram entregues aos clãs da tribo de Gade como sua herança.
29 And Moses gave unto the half tribe of Menasseh; and it belonged to the half tribe of the children of Menasseh after their families;
29 Moisés havia designado a seguinte área aos clãs da meia tribo de Manassés:
30 And their territory was from Machanayim, all Bashan, all the kingdom of ‘Og the king of Bashan, and all the villages of Ya’ir, which are in Bashan, sixty cities;
30 Seu território se estendia desde Maanaim e abrangia toda a região de Basã, todo o antigo território do rei Ogue, e as sessenta cidades de Jair, em Basã.
31 And half Gil’ad and ‘Ashtaroth, and Edre’i, the cities of the kingdom of ‘Og in Bashan, belonged unto the children of Machir the son of Menasseh, even to the one half of the children of Machir after their families.
31 Também incluía metade de Gileade, bem como Astarote e Edrei, cidades do reino de Ogue em Basã. Tudo isso foi entregue à metade dos descendentes de Maquir, filho de Manassés, segundo seus clãs.
32 These are they to whom Moses did distribute an inheritance in the plans of Moab, on the other side of the Jordan, by Jericho, eastward.
32 Essa foi a divisão de terras como herança que Moisés designou enquanto estava nas campinas de Moabe, do outro lado do rio Jordão, a leste de Jericó.
33 But unto the tribe of Levi Moses gave not any inheritance: the Lord the God of Israel is himself their inheritance, as he hath spoken unto them.
33 À tribo de Levi, porém, Moisés não deu porção alguma de terra como herança, pois o S enhor , o Deus de Israel, havia prometido que ele próprio seria sua herança.
