1 And it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, on the tenth of the month, that Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon came, he, and all his host, against Jerusalem, and encamped against it; and they built a mound all around about it.
1 Aconteceu que, no nono ano do reinado de Zedequias, aos dez dias do décimo mês, Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, veio contra Jerusalém, ele e todo o seu exército. Sitiaram a cidade e construíram rampas de ataque ao redor dela.
2 And the city was put in a state of siege until the eleventh year of king Zedekiah.
2 A cidade ficou sitiada até o décimo primeiro ano do reinado de Zedequias.
3 And on the ninth of the month, when the famine prevailed in the city, and there was no bread for the people of the land:
3 Aos nove dias do quarto mês, quando a cidade se via apertada pela fome, e não havia pão para o povo da terra,
4 The city was broken into, and all the men of war fled in the night by the way of the gate between the two walls, which was by the kings garden; while the Chaldeans were all round about the city;and the people went the way toward the plain.
4 a cidade foi arrombada. Embora os caldeus estivessem em volta da cidade, todos os homens de guerra fugiram de noite pelo caminho do portão que fica entre as duas muralhas perto do jardim do rei. Fugiram na direção do vale do Jordão,
5 And the army of the Chaldeans pursued after the king, and overtook him in the plains of Jericho: and all his army were scattered from around him.
5 mas o exército dos caldeus perseguiu o rei Zedequias e o alcançou nas campinas de Jericó; e todo o exército deste se dispersou e o abandonou.
6 And they seized the king, and brought him up to the king of Babylon to Riblah; and they called him to account.
6 Então Zedequias foi preso e levado ao rei da Babilônia, em Ribla, o qual lhe pronunciou a sentença.
7 And they slaughtered the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes, and he blinded the eyes of Zedekiah, and bound him with fetters of brass, and carried him to Babylon.
7 Mataram os filhos de Zedequias na frente dele e então lhe furaram os olhos; amarraram-no com correntes de bronze e o levaram para a Babilônia.
8 And in the fifth month, on the seventh day of the month, which was the nineteenth year of king Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, came Nebusaradan, the chief of the guard, a servant of the king of Babylon, unto Jerusalem:
8 No sétimo dia do quinto mês, do décimo nono ano do reinado de Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, Nebuzaradã, chefe da guarda e servidor do rei da Babilônia, veio a Jerusalém.
9 And he burnt the house of the Lord, and the kings house; also, all the houses of Jerusalem, and every great mans house burnt he with fire.
9 Ele queimou a Casa do Senhor e o palácio real, bem como todas as casas de Jerusalém. Também entregou às chamas todas as construções importantes.
10 And the walls of Jerusalem round about did all the army of the Chaldeans that were with the captain of the guard tear down.
10 Todo o exército dos caldeus que estava com o chefe da guarda derrubou as muralhas ao redor de Jerusalém.
11 And the rest of the people that were left in the city, and the deserters that had run over to the king of Babylon, with the remnant of the multitude, did Nebusaradan the captain of the guard lead away into exile;
11 Nebuzaradã, o chefe da guarda, levou cativos o resto do povo que havia ficado na cidade, os desertores que se entregaram ao rei da Babilônia e o restante da população.
12 But from the poorest of the land the captain of the guard left some to be vinedressers and husbandmen.
12 Porém o chefe da guarda deixou alguns dos mais pobres da terra para serem vinhateiros e lavradores.
13 And the pillars of copper that were in the house of the Lord, and the bases, and the copper sea that was in the house of the Lord, did the Chaldeans break up, and they carried the copper thereof to Babylon.
13 Os caldeus cortaram em pedaços as colunas de bronze que estavam na Casa do Senhor , bem como os suportes e o mar de bronze que estavam na Casa do Senhor ; e levaram o bronze para a Babilônia.
14 And the pots, and the shovels, and the knives, and the spoons, and all the vessels of copper wherewith they ministered, took they away.
14 Levaram também as panelas, as pás, os apagadores, os recipientes de incenso e todos os utensílios de bronze, com que se ministrava.
15 And the censers, and the bowls, the gold of the golden things, and the silver of the silver things, took the captain of the guard away.
15 O chefe da guarda levou também os braseiros, as bacias e tudo o que fosse de ouro ou de prata.
16 The two pillars, the one sea, and the bases which Solomon had made for the house of the Lord: the copper of all these vessels was too much to be weighed.
16 Quanto às duas colunas, ao mar de bronze e aos suportes que Salomão havia feito para a Casa do Senhor , o peso do bronze de todos esses utensílios era incalculável.
17 Eighteen cubits was the height of the one pillar, and the capital upon it was copper; and the height of the capital was three cubits; and the wreathed work, and the pomegranates upon the capitals round about, were all of copper: and the same had the second pillar together with the wreathed work.
17 A altura de uma coluna era de oito metros, e sobre ela havia um capitel de bronze de um metro e trinta de altura. A obra de rede e as romãs sobre o capitel ao redor, tudo era de bronze; semelhante a esta era a outra coluna com a rede.
18 And the captain of the guard took Serayah the chiefpriest, and Zephanyahu the second priest, and the three doorkeepers;
18 O chefe da guarda também levou cativos Seraías, sumo sacerdote, Sofonias, segundo sacerdote, e os três guardas da porta.
19 And out of the city he took one courtofficer that was appointed over the men of war, and five men of those that could come into the kings presence, who were found in the city, and the scribe of the chief of the army, who ordered to the army the people of the land, and sixty men of the people of the land that were found in the city:
19 Da cidade ele levou um oficial, que era comandante das tropas de guerra, e cinco dos conselheiros do rei que ainda estavam na cidade, bem como o escrivão-chefe do exército, que alistava o povo da terra, e sessenta homens do povo do lugar, que estavam na cidade.
20 And Nebusaradan the captain of the guard took these, and conducted them to the king of Babylon to Riblah;
20 Nebuzaradã, o chefe da guarda, levou-os ao rei da Babilônia, em Ribla.
21 And the king of Babylon smote them, and put them to death at Riblah in the land of Chamath. So did Judah wander away into exile out of their land.
21 O rei da Babilônia os matou ali mesmo, em Ribla, na terra de Hamate. Assim Judá foi levado cativo para fora da sua terra.
22 And as for the people that were left in the land of Judah, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had left, he appointed over them Gedalyahu the son of Achikam, the son of Shaphan.
22 E sobre o povo que havia ficado na terra de Judá, que Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, havia deixado ali, ele nomeou como governador Gedalias, filho de Aicão, filho de Safã.
23 And when all the captains of the armies, they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had appointed Gedalyahu, they came to Gedalyahu to Mizpah; even Ishmael the son of Nethanyah, and Jochanan the son of Kareach, and Serayah the son of Tanchumeth the Netophathite, and Jaazanyahu the son of a Maachathite, they and their men.
23 Quando os capitães dos exércitos, eles e os seus soldados, ouviram que o rei da Babilônia havia nomeado Gedalias como governador, foram falar com ele em Mispa. Esses capitães eram Ismael, filho de Netanias, Joanã, filho de Careá, Seraías, filho de Tanumete, o netofatita, e Jazanias, filho do maacatita. Com eles estavam os seus soldados.
24 And Gedalyahu swore to them, and to their men, and said unto them, Be not afraid of the servants of the Chaldeans: remain in the land, and serve the king of Babylon; and it will be well with you.
24 Gedalias jurou a esses capitães e aos seus soldados, dizendo: — Vocês não precisam ter medo dos oficiais dos caldeus. Fiquem na terra, sirvam o rei da Babilônia, e tudo irá bem com vocês.
25 But it happened in the seventh month, that there came Ishmael the son of Nethanyah, the son of Elishama, of the seed royal, and ten men with him, and they smote Gedalyahu, so that he died, also the Jews and the Chaldeans that were with him at Mizpah.
25 Porém, no sétimo mês, Ismael, filho de Netanias, filho de Elisama, que era de família real, foi até Mispa com dez homens. Eles atacaram Gedalias e o mataram. Também mataram os judeus e os caldeus que estavam com ele em Mispa.
26 And then arose all the people, from small to great, and the captains of the armies, and went to Egypt; for they were afraid of the Chaldeans.
26 Então todo o povo, desde o menor até o maior, junto com os capitães das tropas, se levantaram e foram para o Egito, porque tinham medo dos caldeus.
27 And it came to pass in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Jehoyachin the king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, that Evilmerodach the king of Babylon in the year that he became king did lift up the head of Jehoyachin the king of Judah out of the prison;
27 No trigésimo sétimo ano do cativeiro de Joaquim, rei de Judá, no dia vinte e sete do décimo segundo mês, Evil-Merodaque, rei da Babilônia, no ano em que começou a reinar, libertou do cárcere Joaquim, rei de Judá.
28 And he spoke kindly to him, and set his chair above the chair of the kings that were with him in Babylon:
28 Falou com ele de modo bondoso e lhe deu um lugar de mais honra do que a dos reis que estavam com ele na Babilônia.
29 And changed his prison garments: and he ate bread continually before him all the days of his life.
29 Permitiu que ele deixasse de usar as roupas de prisioneiro, e Joaquim passou a comer na presença dele todos os dias da sua vida.
30 And his allowance was a continual allowance given him by the king, the necessary ration for the day on its day, all the days of his life.
30 E da parte do rei lhe foi dada subsistência vitalícia, uma pensão diária, durante todos os dias da sua vida.
