1 And it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, on the tenth of the month, that Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon came, he, and all his host, against Jerusalem, and encamped against it; and they built a mound all around about it.
1 Sucedeu que, no nono ano do reinado de Zedequias, aos dez dias do décimo mês, Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, veio contra Jerusalém, ele e todo o seu exército, e se acamparam contra ela, e levantaram contra ela tranqueiras em redor.
2 And the city was put in a state of siege until the eleventh year of king Zedekiah.
2 A cidade ficou sitiada até ao undécimo ano do rei Zedequias.
3 And on the ninth of the month, when the famine prevailed in the city, and there was no bread for the people of the land:
3 Aos nove dias do quarto mês, quando a cidade se via apertada da fome, e não havia pão para o povo da terra,
4 The city was broken into, and all the men of war fled in the night by the way of the gate between the two walls, which was by the kings garden; while the Chaldeans were all round about the city;and the people went the way toward the plain.
4 então, a cidade foi arrombada, e todos os homens de guerra fugiram de noite pelo caminho da porta que está entre os dois muros perto do jardim do rei, a despeito de os caldeus se acharem contra a cidade em redor; o rei fugiu pelo caminho da Campina,
5 And the army of the Chaldeans pursued after the king, and overtook him in the plains of Jericho: and all his army were scattered from around him.
5 porém o exército dos caldeus perseguiu o rei Zedequias e o alcançou nas campinas de Jericó; e todo o exército deste se dispersou e o abandonou.
6 And they seized the king, and brought him up to the king of Babylon to Riblah; and they called him to account.
6 Então, o tomaram preso e o fizeram subir ao rei da Babilônia, a Ribla, o qual lhe pronunciou a sentença.
7 And they slaughtered the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes, and he blinded the eyes of Zedekiah, and bound him with fetters of brass, and carried him to Babylon.
7 Aos filhos de Zedequias mataram à sua própria vista e a ele vazaram os olhos; ataram-no com duas cadeias de bronze e o levaram para a Babilônia.
8 And in the fifth month, on the seventh day of the month, which was the nineteenth year of king Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, came Nebusaradan, the chief of the guard, a servant of the king of Babylon, unto Jerusalem:
8 No sétimo dia do quinto mês, do ano décimo nono de Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, Nebuzaradã, chefe da guarda e servidor do rei da Babilônia, veio a Jerusalém.
9 And he burnt the house of the Lord, and the kings house; also, all the houses of Jerusalem, and every great mans house burnt he with fire.
9 E queimou a Casa do Senhor e a casa do rei, como também todas as casas de Jerusalém; também entregou às chamas todos os edifícios importantes.
10 And the walls of Jerusalem round about did all the army of the Chaldeans that were with the captain of the guard tear down.
10 Todo o exército dos caldeus que estava com o chefe da guarda derribou os muros em redor de Jerusalém.
11 And the rest of the people that were left in the city, and the deserters that had run over to the king of Babylon, with the remnant of the multitude, did Nebusaradan the captain of the guard lead away into exile;
11 O mais do povo que havia ficado na cidade, e os desertores que se entregaram ao rei da Babilônia, e o mais da multidão, Nebuzaradã, o chefe da guarda, levou cativos.
12 But from the poorest of the land the captain of the guard left some to be vinedressers and husbandmen.
12 Porém dos mais pobres da terra deixou o chefe da guarda ficar alguns para vinheiros e para lavradores.
13 And the pillars of copper that were in the house of the Lord, and the bases, and the copper sea that was in the house of the Lord, did the Chaldeans break up, and they carried the copper thereof to Babylon.
13 Cortaram em pedaços os caldeus as colunas de bronze que estavam na Casa do Senhor , como também os suportes e o mar de bronze que estavam na Casa do Senhor ; e levaram o bronze para a Babilônia.
14 And the pots, and the shovels, and the knives, and the spoons, and all the vessels of copper wherewith they ministered, took they away.
14 Levaram também as panelas, as pás, as espevitadeiras, os recipientes de incenso e todos os utensílios de bronze, com que se ministrava.
15 And the censers, and the bowls, the gold of the golden things, and the silver of the silver things, took the captain of the guard away.
15 Tomou também o chefe da guarda os braseiros, as bacias e tudo quanto fosse de ouro ou de prata.
16 The two pillars, the one sea, and the bases which Solomon had made for the house of the Lord: the copper of all these vessels was too much to be weighed.
16 Quanto às duas colunas, ao mar e aos suportes que Salomão fizera para a Casa do Senhor , o peso do bronze de todos estes utensílios era incalculável.
17 Eighteen cubits was the height of the one pillar, and the capital upon it was copper; and the height of the capital was three cubits; and the wreathed work, and the pomegranates upon the capitals round about, were all of copper: and the same had the second pillar together with the wreathed work.
17 A altura de uma coluna era de dezoito côvados, e sobre ela havia um capitel de bronze de três côvados de altura; a obra de rede e as romãs sobre o capitel ao redor, tudo era de bronze; semelhante a esta era a outra coluna com a rede.
18 And the captain of the guard took Serayah the chiefpriest, and Zephanyahu the second priest, and the three doorkeepers;
18 Levou também o chefe da guarda a Seraías, sumo sacerdote, e a Sofonias, segundo sacerdote, e os três guardas da porta.
19 And out of the city he took one courtofficer that was appointed over the men of war, and five men of those that could come into the kings presence, who were found in the city, and the scribe of the chief of the army, who ordered to the army the people of the land, and sixty men of the people of the land that were found in the city:
19 Da cidade tomou a um oficial, que era comandante das tropas de guerra, e cinco homens dos que eram conselheiros do rei e se achavam na cidade, como também ao escrivão-mor do exército, que alistava o povo da terra, e sessenta homens do povo do lugar, que se achavam na cidade.
20 And Nebusaradan the captain of the guard took these, and conducted them to the king of Babylon to Riblah;
20 Tomando-os, Nebuzaradã, o chefe da guarda, levou-os ao rei da Babilônia, a Ribla.
21 And the king of Babylon smote them, and put them to death at Riblah in the land of Chamath. So did Judah wander away into exile out of their land.
21 O rei da Babilônia os feriu e os matou em Ribla, na terra de Hamate. Assim, Judá foi levado cativo para fora da sua terra.
22 And as for the people that were left in the land of Judah, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had left, he appointed over them Gedalyahu the son of Achikam, the son of Shaphan.
22 Quanto ao povo que ficara na terra de Judá, Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, que o deixara ficar, nomeou governador sobre ele a Gedalias, filho de Aicão, filho de Safã.
23 And when all the captains of the armies, they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had appointed Gedalyahu, they came to Gedalyahu to Mizpah; even Ishmael the son of Nethanyah, and Jochanan the son of Kareach, and Serayah the son of Tanchumeth the Netophathite, and Jaazanyahu the son of a Maachathite, they and their men.
23 Ouvindo, pois, os capitães dos exércitos, eles e os seus homens, que o rei da Babilônia nomeara governador a Gedalias, vieram ter com este em Mispa, a saber, Ismael, filho de Netanias, Joanã, filho de Careá, Seraías, filho de Tanumete, o netofatita, e Jazanias, filho do maacatita, eles e os seus homens.
24 And Gedalyahu swore to them, and to their men, and said unto them, Be not afraid of the servants of the Chaldeans: remain in the land, and serve the king of Babylon; and it will be well with you.
24 Gedalias jurou a eles e aos seus homens e lhes disse: Nada temais da parte dos caldeus; ficai na terra, servi ao rei da Babilônia, e bem vos irá.
25 But it happened in the seventh month, that there came Ishmael the son of Nethanyah, the son of Elishama, of the seed royal, and ten men with him, and they smote Gedalyahu, so that he died, also the Jews and the Chaldeans that were with him at Mizpah.
25 Sucedeu, porém, que, no sétimo mês, veio Ismael, filho de Netanias, filho de Elisama, de família real, e dez homens, com ele, e feriram Gedalias, e ele morreu, como também aos judeus e aos caldeus que estavam com ele em Mispa.
26 And then arose all the people, from small to great, and the captains of the armies, and went to Egypt; for they were afraid of the Chaldeans.
26 Então, se levantou todo o povo, tanto os pequenos como os grandes, como também os capitães das tropas, e foram para o Egito, porque temiam aos caldeus.
27 And it came to pass in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Jehoyachin the king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, that Evilmerodach the king of Babylon in the year that he became king did lift up the head of Jehoyachin the king of Judah out of the prison;
27 No trigésimo sétimo ano do cativeiro de Joaquim, rei de Judá, no dia vinte e sete do duodécimo mês, Evil-Merodaque, rei da Babilônia, no ano em que começou a reinar, libertou do cárcere a Joaquim, rei de Judá.
28 And he spoke kindly to him, and set his chair above the chair of the kings that were with him in Babylon:
28 Falou com ele benignamente e lhe deu lugar de mais honra do que a dos reis que estavam com ele na Babilônia.
29 And changed his prison garments: and he ate bread continually before him all the days of his life.
29 Mudou-lhe as vestes do cárcere, e Joaquim passou a comer pão na sua presença todos os dias da sua vida.
30 And his allowance was a continual allowance given him by the king, the necessary ration for the day on its day, all the days of his life.
30 E da parte do rei lhe foi dada subsistência vitalícia, uma pensão diária, durante os dias da sua vida.
