1 Deponde, pois, toda malícia, toda astúcia, fingimentos, invejas e toda espécie de maledicência.

2 as newborn babes desire earnestly the pure mental milk of the word, that by it ye may grow up to salvation,

3 if indeed ye have tasted that the Lord {is} good.

5 yourselves also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

6 Because it is contained in the scripture: Behold, I lay in Zion a corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believes on him shall not be put to shame.

7 To you therefore who believe {is} the preciousness; but to the disobedient, the stone which the builders cast away as worthless, this is become head of {the} corner,
8 Ɛ 'crɩ la nɩ ‑wɛ, 'kɩ 'lɩ Nyɩsʋa a 'crɩɛn 'kwli, ‑ɛ mɔ:
8 and a stone of stumbling and rock of offence; {who} stumble at the word, being disobedient to which also they have been appointed.
9 'A mʋ ‑mɔ ‑bɩ, 'a mʋ ‑mɔ dakɔ ‑mʋ', Nyɩsʋa ‑ha 'lɩ. A mɔ bodɩɔpʋ ꞊nɩɔ, ‑ʋ 'wɩ ‑cɔhlʋnpinyʋ yɩ, ‑ʋ ni Nyɩsʋa a ‑kʋan. 'A mʋ ‑mɔ Nyɩsʋa a dakɔ, Nyɩsʋa a 'mʋ, ɛ pʋ 'kɩbɩa kɩ, 'kɩ 'ʋ 'a dɩɔnʋ ‑mɔ'. Ɛ ꞊gblɛ 'a mʋ nɩ, ‑ɛ di꞊e nu, ‑tɛblɩ gbagbɩ ‑mʋ', ɛ ‑nu, a 'mʋ 'a ‑tɩ nyibli ‑lee ‑nɩ. 'Ɛ mɔ ‑tɛɛ, ɛ da 'a mʋ nɩ, 'ɛ ‑ha 'lɩ 'a mʋ halɔ 'nyɩ, 'ɛ gba 'ʋ 'a mʋ ‑nyrɛ yɩ, ‑nyrɛdʋ ‑mʋ', ‑ɛ yɩ wlɩn, ‑ɛ ‑hi 'ʋ 'a ‑nɛ ꞊dedede 'ʋ.
9 But *ye* {are} a chosen race, a kingly priesthood, a holy nation, a people for a possession, that ye might set forth the excellencies of him who has called you out of darkness to his wonderful light;

10 who once {were} not a people, but now God's people; who were not enjoying mercy, but now have found mercy.

11 Beloved, I exhort {you}, as strangers and sojourners, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;

12 having your conversation honest among the Gentiles, that {as to that} in which they speak against you as evildoers, they may through {your} good works, {themselves} witnessing {them}, glorify God in {the} day of visitation.
13 ‑Tɛ ‑a yɩ ‑aan Kʋkɔnyɔ ‑Yusu 'Klɩsʋ ꞊wien kʋɛ, 'a ‑tɩ, ba ꞊tuu 'ʋ 'klɔ a nyibli a pɛpɛ, ‑ʋ nɛɛ 'blʋ. Romakʋɛ a 'kɩɩn gbagbʋ ‑mʋ', ‑ɛ kɔɔ nyibli a pɛpɛ win kɩ, ba ꞊tuu 'ʋ꞊ʋ 'ʋ.

14 or to rulers as sent by him, for vengeance on evildoers, and praise to them that do well.
15 Nyɩsʋa ‑hʋɛ꞊ɛ nɩ, ba nu ꞊haandɛ, ‑ɛ di꞊e nu, nyibli ‑mʋ', ‑ʋ 'yɛ nɩ ‑hʋa ‑bʋ yru Nyɩsʋa, 'tɩ‑ ‑ʋ yɩ 'aan 'nyrɛ di, ʋ 'mʋ dɛdʋ a 'mʋ, 'a nunuo 'kee ‑nɩ.
15 Because so is the will of God, that by well-doing ye put to silence the ignorance of senseless men;
16 'Aan nunuklɔ bʋ tɔɔ ꞊nɛ nyibli yɩ, ‑ɛ mɔ, ‑Yusu 'Klɩsʋ nu꞊o nɩ, 'a 'yɩ kɛ 'kɩ dɛ 'kuku a ꞊koyo 'pa‑. Kɛɛ, a 'nɩ 'pʋʋ 'lɩ lɛ, ‑ɛ mɔ, ‑tɛ a 'yɩ ꞊koyo 'pa‑ a ‑tɩ, a ‑wɛ 'lɩ ba nu ‑tɛblɩ ‑hʋɩn nɩ. Kɛɛ, ba ‑hɛ Nyɩsʋa a ꞊koyo.
16 as free, and not as having liberty as a cloak of malice, but as God's bondmen.
17 Ba ꞊tuu 'ʋ nyibli a pɛpɛ 'ʋ, ba nʋɛ nɛ 'aan 'bio ‑Yusu a nyibli, ba ꞊tuu 'ʋ Nyɩsʋa 'ʋ, ba ꞊tuu 'ʋ Romakʋɛ a 'kɩɩn gbagbʋ 'ʋ ‑wɛ.
17 Shew honour to all, love the brotherhood, fear God, honour the king.
18 'A mʋ ‑kʋannunyibli, 'a mʋ 'n yɩ 'lɩ ‑mɔ ‑hlee ‑nɩ. Ba ꞊tuu 'ʋ 'aan nyibli gbagbɩ 'ʋ ‑tɛɛ. Ba 'bʋa 'waa ‑tɩ 'yi ‑tɛɛ ‑wɛ. Kɛ‑ ba nu, 'ye ꞊bɩɩ 'waa ꞊wlɩ nɔ yɩ, 'ye ꞊bɩɩ 'waa ꞊wlɩ nyre yɩ.
18 Servants, {be} subject with all fear to your masters, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the ill-tempered.
19 'Ɛ mɔ ‑tɛɛ, nyiblo 'bʋ nɩ 'ʋ, 'bʋ yɩ꞊ɩ ꞊hɩʋɛn nɩ ꞊tui, 'ye ꞊bɩɩ ɛ 'yɩ dɛ ‑hʋan ꞊dʋ ‑nu, ‑ɛ blɛɛ ꞊hɩʋɛn a 'yiye yɩ, bʋ kɔ ꞊wlʋ a 'lɩla, 'kɩ ꞊hɩʋɛn a 'mʋ 'a 'yiye 'kwli, ‑kɔtɩ ɛ kɔ 'ʋ Nyɩsʋa a 'ʋ꞊tuulɛ. Dɛ a 'mʋ, nɔ‑ yɩ Nyɩsʋa a plɔ ‑blee ‑nɩ.
19 For this {is} acceptable, if one, for conscience sake towards God, endure griefs, suffering unjustly.
20 'Bʋ mɔ, 'ba yɩ yɩnyre‑tɛblɩ nɩ ni, 'a ‑tɩ 'bʋ yɩ 'a mʋ nɩ bi, 'ye ꞊bɩɩ a kɔ ꞊wlʋ a 'lɩla, 'kɩ 'lɩ ꞊hɩʋɛndʋ a 'mʋ, 'a 'yiye 'kwli, nyiblo ꞊dʋ 'yɩ 'lɩ꞊ɩ 'lɩ ‑wɛ, bʋ pʋ 'a mʋ 'nyrɛ lɛ. Kɛɛ, 'ba yɩ ꞊haandɛ nɩ ni, 'tɩ‑ ꞊haandɛ a 'mʋ, 'a ‑tɩ, 'bʋ yɩ 'a mʋ ꞊hɩʋɛn nɩ ꞊tui, 'tɩ‑ 'ba yɩ ꞊wlʋ a 'lɩla nɩ kʋɛ, ‑ɛ ‑bɩ dɛ a 'mʋ, nɔ‑ yɩ Nyɩsʋa a plɔ ‑blee ‑nɩ.
20 For what glory {is it}, if sinning and being buffeted ye shall bear {it}? but if, doing good and suffering, ye shall bear {it}, this is acceptable with God.
21 Nyɩsʋa da 'a mʋ nɩ, 'kɩ ba 'ye ꞊hɩʋɛn, 'ye ꞊bɩɩ a yɩ ꞊haandɛ nɩ ni, ‑kɔtɩ ‑Yusu 'Klɩsʋ a 'mumu, ɛ 'ye ꞊hɩʋɛn, ɛ 'mʋ 'a mʋ wa a ‑tɩ. Ɛ tɔɔ nɛ 'a mʋ 'hru nɩ, ‑ɛ di꞊e nu, a 'mʋ 'lɩ 'a ꞊pɩ lɛ ‑ha.
21 For to this have ye been called; for Christ also has suffered for you, leaving you a model that ye should follow in his steps:
22 Ɛ nɔ‑ ‑mɔ ‑bɩ, ɛ 'yɩ dɛ ‑hʋan ꞊dʋ ‑nu. Ɛ 'yɩ nyiblo ꞊dʋ ‑kaa ‑nɩ.
22 who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth;
23 ‑Tɛ ʋ ‑ha꞊a 'yri lɛ, ɛ 'yɩ ‑mɔ ꞊hɩan, ɛ 'yɩ 'a ‑nɛ 'tanɩ ‑pʋ. ‑Tɛ ʋ ꞊tui꞊e ꞊hɩʋɛn, ɛ 'yɩ lɛ ‑pʋ, bʋ nu nyibli a 'mʋ dɛ ‑hʋan ‑mɔ, kɛɛ, dɛ ɛ ‑nu, ɛ nɔ‑ mɔ ɛ pʋ 'lɩ 'a dɩɔnʋ Nyɩsʋa ‑jɩ' bʋ, ‑ɛ pɩ ‑tɛɛ a ‑bati.
23 who, {when} reviled, reviled not again; {when} suffering, threatened not; but gave {himself} over into the hands of him who judges righteously;
24 ‑Yusu 'Klɩsʋ a 'mʋ, ɛ 'ble ‑aan dɛ 'kuku, 'ɛ 'ye ꞊hɩʋɛn ‑aan dɛ 'kuku a 'mʋ, 'a ‑tɩ, 'ʋ kɔɔ 'ʋ꞊ʋ tugbɛ 'yie, 'ɛ 'kʋ. ‑Tɛ ɛ nu dɛ a 'mʋ, ɛ 'wɩ yɩ, ɛ ꞊gblɛ ‑a mʋ nɩ, 'kɩ 'ʋ dɛ 'kuku ‑mɔ', ‑ɛ di꞊e nu, ‑a 'mʋ 'klɩ kɔ, ‑a 'mʋ ꞊haandɛ nu. 24 who himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, in order that, being dead to sins, we may live to righteousness: by whose stripes ye have been healed.

25 For ye were going astray as sheep, but have now returned to the shepherd and overseer of your souls.
