1 To the Chief Musician upon shoshannim – Eduth. A Psalm of Asaph. Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, you that lead Joseph like a flock; you that dwell between the cherubim, shine forth.
1 Ao mestre de canto. Conforme: A lei é como os lírios. Salmo de Asaf. Escutai, ó pastor de Israel, vós que levais José como um rebanho.
2 Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh stir up your strength, and come and save us.
2 Vós que assentais acima dos querubins, mostrai vosso esplendor em presença de Efraim, Benjamim e Manassés. Despertai vosso poder, e vinde salvar-nos.
3 Restore us, O God, and cause your face to shine; and we shall be saved.
3 Restaurai-nos, ó Senhor; mostrai-nos serena a vossa face e seremos salvos.
4 O LORD God of hosts, how long will you be angry against the prayer of your people?
4 Ó Deus dos exércitos, até quando vos irritareis contra o vosso povo em oração?
5 You feed them with the bread of tears; and give them tears to drink in great measure.
5 Vós o nutristes com o pão das lágrimas, e o fizestes sorver um copioso pranto.
6 You make us a strife unto our neighbors: and our enemies laugh among themselves.
6 Vós nos tornastes uma presa disputada dos vizinhos: os inimigos zombam de nós.
7 Restore us, O God of hosts, and cause your face to shine; and we shall be saved.
7 Restaurai-nos, ó Deus dos exércitos; mostrai-nos serena a vossa face e seremos salvos.
8 You have brought a vine out of Egypt: you have cast out the nations, and planted it.
8 Uma vinha do Egito vós arrancastes; expulsastes povos para a replantar.
9 You prepared room before it, and did cause it to take deep root, and it filled the land.
9 O solo vós lhes preparastes; ela lançou raízes nele e se espalhou na terra.
10 The hills were covered with the shadow of it, and the boughs thereof were like the goodly cedars.
10 As montanhas se cobriram com sua sombra, seus ramos ensombraram os cedros de Deus.
11 It sent out its boughs unto the sea, and its branches unto the river.
11 Até o mar ela estendeu sua ramagem, e até o rio os seus rebentos.
12 Why have you then broken down its hedges, so that all they who pass by the way do pluck its fruit?
12 Por que derrubastes os seus muros, de sorte que os passantes a vindimem,
13 The boar out of the wood does waste it, and the wild beast of the field does devour it.
13 e a devaste o javali do mato, e sirva de pasto aos animais do campo?
14 Return, we beseech you, O God of hosts: look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine;
14 Voltai, ó Deus dos exércitos; olhai do alto céu, vede e vinde visitar a vinha.
15 And the vineyard which your right hand has planted, and the branch that you made strong for yourself.
15 Protegei este cepo por vós plantado, este rebento que vossa mão cuidou.
16 It is burned with fire, it is cut down: they perish at the rebuke of your countenance.
16 Aqueles que a queimaram e cortaram pereçam em vossa presença ameaçadora.
17 Let your hand be upon the man of your right hand, upon the son of man whom you made strong for yourself.
17 Estendei a mão sobre o homem que escolhestes, sobre o homem que haveis fortificado.
18 Then will we not go back from you: revive us, and we will call upon your name.
18 E não mais de vós nos apartaremos; conservai-nos a vida e então vos louvaremos.
19 Restore us, O LORD God of hosts, cause your face to shine; and we shall be saved.
19 Restaurai-nos, Senhor, ó Deus dos exércitos; mostrai-nos serena a vossa face e seremos salvos.
