1 Ó Senhor Deus, em ti eu busco proteção; livra-me da vergonha de ser derrotado. Tu és justo; eu te peço que me ajudes.
2 Incline thine ear unto me; deliver me speedily; be thou my strong rock, for a house of defence to save me.
2 Ouve-me e salva-me agora. Peço que sejas uma rocha de abrigo, uma defesa para me salvar.
3 For thou [art] my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name's sake thou shalt lead me and guide me.
3 Tu és a minha rocha e a minha fortaleza; guia-me e orienta-me como prometeste.
4 Thou shalt pull me out of the net that they have laid in secret for me; for thou [art] my strength.
4 Não me deixes cair na armadilha que armaram para mim, pois tu és o meu refúgio;
5 Into thy hand shall I commit my spirit; thou shalt ransom me, O LORD God of truth.
5 nas tuas mãos entrego a minha vida. Tu me salvarás, ó porque tu és Deus fiel.
6 I have hated those that regard lying vanities; but I wait in the LORD.
6 Tu detestas os que adoram deuses falsos; eu, porém, ponho em ti a minha confiança.
7 I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy, for thou hast considered my trouble; thou hast known my soul in adversities
7 Ficarei contente e me alegrarei por causa do teu amor. Tu vês que estou sofrendo e conheces as minhas aflições.
8 and hast not shut me up into the hand of the enemy; thou hast set my feet in a wide place.
8 Não deixaste que os meus inimigos me pegassem e me livraste do perigo.
9 Have mercy upon me, O LORD, for I am in trouble: my eye is consumed with grief, [yea], my soul and my belly.
9 Ó Senhor Deus, tem compaixão de mim, pois estou aflito! Os meus olhos estão cansados de tanto chorar; estou esgotado de corpo e alma.
10 For my life is spent with grief and my years with sighing: my strength fails because of my iniquity, and my bones are consumed.
10 A tristeza acabou com as minhas forças; as lágrimas encurtam a minha vida. Estou fraco por causa das minhas aflições; até os meus ossos estão se gastando.
11 I was a reproach among all my enemies, but especially among my neighbours, and a fear to my acquaintances: those that see me without flee from me.
11 Os meus inimigos zombam de mim, e os meus vizinhos também caçoam. Os meus conhecidos têm medo de mim e fogem quando me veem na rua.
12 I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: I have become like a lost vessel.
12 Todos esqueceram de mim, como se eu tivesse morrido; sou como uma coisa que foi jogada fora.
13 For I have heard the slander of many; fear [was] on every side; while they took counsel together against me, they devised to take away my life.
13 Ouço muitos inimigos cochichando; há gente me ameaçando de todos os lados. Eles fazem planos contra mim, procurando um jeito de me matar.
14 But I trusted in thee, O LORD; I said, Thou [art] my God.
14 Porém a minha confiança está em ti, ó tu és o meu Deus.
15 My times [are] in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of my enemies and from those that persecute me.
15 Tu estás sempre cuidando de mim. Salva-me dos meus inimigos, daqueles que me perseguem.
16 Make thy face to shine upon thy servant; save me for thy mercies' sake.
16 Olha com bondade para mim, teu salva-me por causa do teu amor.
17 Let me not be ashamed, O LORD, for I have called upon thee; let the wicked be ashamed, [and] let them be cut off for Sheol.
17 Ó Senhor Deus, eu estou te chamando. Livra-me da vergonha de ser derrotado. Que os maus sofram essa vergonha e que desçam em silêncio para o
18 Let the lying lips be put to silence; which speak grievous things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous.
18 Que fiquem calados aqueles mentirosos, aqueles orgulhosos e arrogantes, que falam com desprezo contra as pessoas honestas!
19 [Oh] how great [is] thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for those that fear thee; [which] thou hast wrought for those that wait in thee before the sons of men!
19 Como são maravilhosas as coisas boas que guardas para aqueles que te Todos podem ver como tu és bom e como proteges os que confiam em ti.
20 Thou shalt keep them in the secret place of thy face from the pride of man; thou shalt keep them in the tabernacle [protected] from the strife of tongues.
20 Com a proteção da tua presença, tu os livras dos planos dos maus. Num esconderijo seguro, tu os escondes das ofensas dos seus inimigos.
21 Blessed [be] the LORD, for he has shown me his marvellous mercy in a strong city.
21 Louvado seja Deus, o Senhor ! Quando os meus inimigos me cercaram e me atacaram, ele mostrou, de modo maravilhoso, o seu amor por mim.
22 For I said in my haste, I am cut off from before thine eyes; nevertheless thou hast heard the voice of my supplications when I cried unto thee.
22 Fiquei com medo e pensei que ele havia me expulsado da sua presença. Mas ele ouviu o meu grito quando o chamei pedindo ajuda.
23 O love the LORD, all ye his merciful ones, [for] the LORD preserves the faithful and plentifully rewards the proud doer.
23 Amem o Senhor , todos os que lhe são fiéis! Ele protege os que são sinceros, mas os orgulhosos ele castiga como merecem.
24 Be of good courage and strengthen your hearts, all ye that wait in the LORD.:
24 Sejam fortes e tenham coragem, todos vocês que põem a sua esperança em Deus, o
