1 Paul, a prisoner of Jesus Christ, and Timothy, [our] brother, unto Philemon, our dearly beloved and fellowlabourer,
1 Eu, Paulo, prisioneiro por causa de Cristo Jesus, junto com o irmão Timóteo, escrevo a você, Filemom, nosso amigo e companheiro de trabalho,
2 And to [our] beloved [sister], Apphia and Archippus, our fellowsoldier and to the church in thy house:
2 e à igreja que se reúne na sua casa. Esta carta vai também para a nossa irmã Áfia e para Arquipo, nosso companheiro de lutas.
3 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 Que a graça e a paz de Deus, o nosso Pai, e do Senhor Jesus Cristo estejam com vocês!
4 I thank my God, making mention of thee always in my prayers,
4 Meu caro Filemom, sempre que eu oro, lembro de você e agradeço ao meu Deus
5 hearing of thy charity and faith, which thou hast in the Lord Jesus and toward all saints;
5 porque tenho ouvido falar do seu amor por todo o povo de Deus e da fé que você tem no Senhor Jesus.
6 that the communication of thy faith may become effectual for the knowledge of all the good that is in you by Christ Jesus.
6 Peço a Deus que a fé que une você a nós faça com que compreendamos mais profundamente todas as bênçãos que temos recebido na nossa vida, por estarmos unidos com Cristo.
7 For we have great joy and consolation in thy charity because the bowels of the saints have been refreshed by thee, brother.
7 Meu caro irmão, o seu amor tem me dado grande alegria e muita coragem, pois você tem animado o coração de todo o povo de Deus.
8 Therefore, though I might be very bold in Christ to command thee that which is expedient,
8 Por isso, como seu irmão em Cristo, eu sei que tenho o direito de exigir o que você deve fazer.
9 yet for the sake of charity I rather beseech [thee], being such a one as Paul the aged and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ.
9 Mas o amor que tenho por você me obriga a lhe fazer apenas um pedido. E faço isso, embora eu seja Paulo, o representante de Cristo Jesus e agora também prisioneiro por causa dele.
10 I beseech thee for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten in my bonds,
10 Portanto, eu lhe faço um pedido em favor de Onésimo, que é meu filho por estarmos unidos com Cristo, pois, enquanto eu estava na cadeia, tornei-me o pai espiritual dele.
11 who in time past was to thee unprofitable, but now is profitable to thee and to me,
11 Antes ele era inútil para você, mas agora é útil para você e para mim.
12 whom I send again unto thee; therefore, receive him, as you would receive me.
12 Eu estou mandando Onésimo de volta para você, e com ele vai o meu coração.
13 I desired to retain him with me, that in thy stead he might have ministered unto me in the bonds of the gospel,
13 Gostaria de obrigá-lo a ficar aqui comigo, enquanto estou nesta cadeia por causa do evangelho , a fim de que ele me ajudasse em lugar de você.
14 but I did not want to do anything without thy counsel, that thy benefit should not be as it were of necessity, but willingly.
14 Porém não vou fazer nada sem a aprovação de você, para que o favor que eu lhe estou pedindo não seja feito por obrigação, mas por sua livre vontade.
15 Perhaps for this, he departed from you for a season, that thou should have him again forever,
15 Pode ser que Onésimo tenha sido afastado de você por algum tempo a fim de que você o tenha de volta para sempre.
16 not now as a servant, but above a servant, a brother beloved, especially to me, but how much more unto thee, both in the flesh, and in the Lord.
16 Pois agora ele não é mais um escravo, porém muito mais do que isso: é um querido irmão em Cristo. De fato, para mim ele é muito querido. E para você agora ele é mais querido ainda, não só como escravo, mas também como irmão no Senhor.
17 If thou count me therefore a partner, receive him as myself.
17 Por isso, se você me considera seu companheiro de trabalho, receba Onésimo de volta como se estivesse recebendo a mim mesmo.
18 If he has wronged thee or owes [thee] anything, put that on my account;
18 Se ele deu algum prejuízo a você ou lhe deve alguma coisa, ponha isso na minha conta.
19 I Paul have written [it] with my own hand, I will repay [it]; albeit I do not say to thee how thou owest unto me even thine own self besides.
19 Aqui, com a minha própria mão escrevo isto: Eu, Paulo, pagarei tudo. É claro que não preciso fazer com que você lembre que me deve a sua própria vida .
20 Therefore, brother, let me have joy of thee in the Lord, that thou might refresh my heart in the Lord.
20 Portanto, meu irmão, me faça esse favor, por causa do Senhor. Anime o meu coração, como irmão em Cristo.
21 Having confidence in thy obedience, I have written unto thee, knowing that thou wilt also do more than I say.
21 Ao escrever isso, estou certo de que você vai fazer o que lhe estou pedindo e sei até que você fará ainda mais .
22 In the same manner prepare me also a lodging; for I trust that through your prayers I shall be given unto you.
22 Peço também que prepare um quarto para mim, pois espero que Deus responda às orações de todos vocês e me deixe ir outra vez até aí.
23 Epaphras, my fellowprisoner in Christ Jesus, salutes thee.
23 Epafras, o irmão que está na cadeia comigo por causa de Cristo Jesus, envia saudações a você.
