1 When Jesus came down from the hillside, large crowds followed him.
1 Quando ele desceu do monte, grandes multidões o seguiram.
2 Suddenly a leper came up to him, fell down before him, and said, “Sir, if you want to, you can make me clean.”
2 E, eis que veio um leproso, e o adorou, dizendo: Senhor, se tu queres, podes limpar-me.
3 So Jesus reached out his hand, touched him, and said,“I do want to. Be made clean!” And instantly his leprosy was made clean.
3 E Jesus estendeu a sua mão e tocou-o, dizendo: Eu quero; sê limpo. E imediatamente sua lepra foi purificada.
4 Then Jesus said to him,“See to it that you don't speak to anyone. Instead, go and show yourself to the priest, and then offer the sacrifice that Moses commanded as proof to the authorities.”
4 E disse-lhe Jesus: Olha, não o digas a nenhum homem; mas vai pelo teu caminho, mostra-te ao sacerdote, e apresenta a oferta que Moisés ordenou, como testemunho para eles.
5 When Jesus returned to Capernaum, a centurion came up to him and begged him repeatedly,
5 E quando Jesus estava entrando em Cafarnaum, veio até ele um centurião, implorando-lhe,
6 “Sir, my servant is lying at home paralyzed and in terrible pain.”
6 e dizendo: Senhor, o meu servo jaz em casa doente com uma paralisia, gravemente atormentado.
7 Jesus said to him,“I will come and heal him.”
7 E Jesus lhe disse: Eu irei e o curarei.
8 The centurion replied, “Sir, I am not worthy to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed.
8 E o centurião, respondendo, disse: Senhor, eu não sou digno de que entres debaixo do meu telhado, mas dize somente uma palavra, e o meu servo será curado.
9 For I, too, am a man under authority and have soldiers under me. I say to one ‘Go’ and he goes, to another ‘Come’ and he comes, and to my servant ‘Do this’ and he does it.”
9 Pois eu também sou homem sob autoridade, e tenho soldados sob mim; e digo a este homem: Vai, e ele vai; e a outro: Vem, e ele vem; e ao meu servo: Faze isto, e ele o faz.
10 When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and said to those who were following him,“Truly I tell you, not evenin Israel have I found this kind of faith!
10 E Jesus, ouvindo isso, maravilhou-se e disse aos que o seguiam: Na verdade eu vos digo que não tenho encontrado tão grande fé, não em Israel.
11 I tell you, many will come from east and west and will feast with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.
11 E eu vos digo que muitos virão do Oriente e do Ocidente, e sentarão com Abraão, Isaque e Jacó, no reino do céu.
12 But the citizensof that kingdom will be thrown into the outer darkness. In that place there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.”
12 Mas os filhos do reino serão lançados em trevas profundas; ali haverá pranto e ranger de dentes.
13 Then Jesus said to the centurion,“Go. It will be done for you just as you have believed.” And his servant was healed that very hour.
13 Então Jesus disse ao centurião: Vai no teu caminho, e como tu creste, assim seja feito a ti. E o seu servo foi curado naquela mesma hora.
14 When Jesus went into Peter's house, he saw Peter's mother-in-law lying in bed, sick with a fever.
14 E quando Jesus estava entrando na casa de Pedro, ele viu a mãe de sua esposa deitada, doente de febre.
15 He touched her hand, and the fever left her. Then she got up and began serving him.
15 E ele tocou-lhe na mão, e a febre a deixou; e levantou-se, e serviu-os.
16 When evening came, people brought to him many who were possessed by demons. He drove out the spirits with a word and healed all those who were sick.
16 Chegando a tarde, trouxeram-lhe muitos que estavam possuídos por demônios, e ele expulsou os espíritos com a sua palavra, e curou todos os que estavam enfermos.
17 This was to fulfill what was declared by the prophet Isaiah when he said, “It was he who took our illnesses awayand removed our diseases.”
17 Para que pudesse se cumprir o que fora dito pelo profeta Isaías, dizendo: Ele tomou sobre si as nossas enfermidades, e levou as nossas doenças.
18 When Jesus saw the large crowds around him, he gave orders to cross to the other side.
18 Ora, vendo Jesus grande multidão ao seu redor, deu ordens para que passassem para o outro lado.
19 Now a scribe came up and said to him, “Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.”
19 E, chegando um certo escriba, disse-lhe: Mestre, seguir-te-ei para onde quer que fores.
20 Jesus told him, “Foxes have holes and birds have nests,but the Son of Man has no place to rest.”
20 E Jesus lhe disse: As raposas têm tocas, e as aves do céu têm ninhos, mas o Filho do homem não tem onde deitar a sua cabeça.
21 Then another of his disciples said to him, “Lord, first let me go and bury my father.”
21 E outro de seus discípulos lhe disse: Senhor, permite-me ir primeiro sepultar meu pai.
22 But Jesus told him,“Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead.”
22 Mas Jesus disse-lhe: Segue-me, e deixa que os mortos sepultem os seus mortos.
23 When Jesus got into the boat, his disciples went with him.
23 E, entrando ele no barco, seus discípulos o seguiram.
24 Suddenly a violent storm came up on the sea, so that the boat began to be swamped by the waves. Yet Jesus kept sleeping.
24 E eis que surgia uma grande tempestade no mar, de modo que o barco foi coberto com as ondas. Ele, porém, dormia.
25 They went to him and woke him up, saying, “Lord, save us! We're going to die!”
25 E vindo até ele os seus discípulos, acordaram-no, dizendo: Senhor, salva-nos; estamos perecendo.
26 He said to them,“Why are you afraid, you who have little faith?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm.
26 E ele lhes disse: Por que temeis, Oh! gente de pouca fé? Então, levantando-se, repreendeu os ventos e o mar, e fez-se grande bonança.
27 The men were amazed and said, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the sea obey him!”
27 Mas os homens se maravilharam, dizendo: Que espécie de homem é este, que até os ventos e o mar lhe obedecem?
28 When Jesus arrived on the other side in the region of the Gerasenes, two demon-possessed men met him as they were coming out of the tombs. They were so violent that no one could travel on that road.
28 E, tendo chegado ao outro lado, à região dos gergesenos, vieram-lhe ao encontro dois homens possuídos por demônios, que saíam dos sepulcros; tão ferozes eram que nenhum homem podia passar por aquele caminho.
29 Suddenly they screamed, “What do you want with us, Son of God? Did you come here to torture us before the proper time?”
29 E eis que clamaram, dizendo: Que temos nós contigo, Jesus, Filho de Deus? Vieste aqui atormentar-nos antes do tempo?
30 Now a large herd of pigs was grazing some distance away from them.
30 E havia a uma boa distância deles uma manada de muitos porcos alimentando-se.
31 So the demons began to plead with Jesus, saying, “If you drive us out, send us into that herd of pigs.”
31 Assim os demônios imploraram-lhe, dizendo: Se nos expulsas, permite-nos que entremos naquela manada de porcos.
32 He said to them,“Go,” and they came out and went into the pigs. Suddenly, the whole herd rushed down the cliff into the sea and died in the water.
32 E ele lhes disse: Ide. E, saindo eles, entraram na manada dos porcos; e eis que toda aquela manada de porcos desceu violentamente pela encosta no mar, e pereceu nas águas.
33 Now when those who had been taking care of the pigs ran away, they came into the city and reported everything, especially what had happened to the demon-possessed men.
33 Os que guardavam os porcos, foram pelo seu caminho para a cidade, e contaram tudo o que acontecera aos possuídos pelos demônios.
34 Then the whole city went out to meet Jesus, and as soon as they saw him, they begged him to leave their region.
34 E eis que toda aquela cidade saiu ao encontro de Jesus, e, vendo-o, rogaram-lhe que se retirasse da sua região.
