1 To him that excelleth. A Psalme of Dauid to giue instruction. When Doeg the Edomite came and shewed Saul, and saide to him, Dauid is come to the house of Abimelech. Why boastest thou thy selfe in thy wickednesse, O man of power? the louing kindenesse of God indureth dayly.
1 Por que você se vangloria do mal e de ultrajar a Deus continuamente?, ó homem poderoso.
2 Thy tongue imagineth mischiefe, and is like a sharpe rasor, that cutteth deceitfully.
2 Sua língua trama destruição; é como navalha afiada, cheia de engano.
3 Thou doest loue euill more then good, and lies more then to speake the trueth. Selah.
3 Você prefere o mal ao bem, a falsidade, em lugar da verdade. Pausa
4 Thou louest all wordes that may destroye, O deceitfull tongue!
4 Você ama toda palavra maldosa, ó língua mentirosa!
5 So shall God destroy thee for euer: he shall take thee and plucke thee out of thy tabernacle, and roote thee out of ye land of the liuing. Selah.
5 Saiba que Deus o arruinará para sempre: Ele o agarrará e o arrancará da sua tenda; ele o desarraigará da terra dos vivos. Pausa
6 The righteous also shall see it, and feare, and shall laugh at him, saying,
6 Os justos verão isso e temerão; rirão dele, dizendo:
7 Beholde the man that tooke not God for his strength, but trusted vnto the multitude of his riches, and put his strength in his malice.
7 "Veja só o homem que rejeitou a Deus como refúgio; confiou em sua grande riqueza e buscou refúgio em sua maldade! "
8 But I shall bee like a greene oliue tree in the house of God: for I trusted in the mercie of God for euer and euer.
8 Mas eu sou como uma oliveira que floresce na casa de Deus; confio no amor de Deus para todo o sempre.
9 I will alway praise thee, for that thou hast done this, and I will hope in thy Name, because it is good before thy Saints.
9 Para sempre te louvarei pelo que fizeste; na presença dos teus fiéis proclamarei o teu nome, porque tu és bom.
