1 To him that excelleth. A Psalme of Dauid to giue instruction. When Doeg the Edomite came and shewed Saul, and saide to him, Dauid is come to the house of Abimelech. Why boastest thou thy selfe in thy wickednesse, O man of power? the louing kindenesse of God indureth dayly.
1 Homem poderoso, por que você se gaba da sua maldade? O amor de Deus dura para sempre.
2 Thy tongue imagineth mischiefe, and is like a sharpe rasor, that cutteth deceitfully.
2 Você faz planos para acabar com os outros; a sua língua caluniadora corta tanto como uma navalha afiada.
3 Thou doest loue euill more then good, and lies more then to speake the trueth. Selah.
3 Você gosta mais do mal do que do bem e prefere a mentira em lugar da verdade.
4 Thou louest all wordes that may destroye, O deceitfull tongue!
4 Seu mentiroso, você gosta de ferir os outros com palavras!
5 So shall God destroy thee for euer: he shall take thee and plucke thee out of thy tabernacle, and roote thee out of ye land of the liuing. Selah.
5 Por isso, Deus acabará com você para sempre; ele o pegará e jogará para fora da casa em que você mora. Deus o tirará do mundo dos vivos.
6 The righteous also shall see it, and feare, and shall laugh at him, saying,
6 Os que obedecem a Deus verão isso e ficarão com medo; eles vão rir de você e dizer:
7 Beholde the man that tooke not God for his strength, but trusted vnto the multitude of his riches, and put his strength in his malice.
7 “Vejam um homem que não pedia a Deus que o protegesse. Ele só confiava na sua grande riqueza e procurava segurança na sua própria maldade.”
8 But I shall bee like a greene oliue tree in the house of God: for I trusted in the mercie of God for euer and euer.
8 Porém eu sou como uma oliveira verde, que cresce perto da casa de Deus; eu confio no seu amor para sempre e sempre.
9 I will alway praise thee, for that thou hast done this, and I will hope in thy Name, because it is good before thy Saints.
9 Ó Deus, eu sempre te louvarei pelo que tens feito; na presença dos que são fiéis a ti anunciarei que tu és bom.
