¹ To him that excelleth. A Psalme of Dauid. The heauens declare the glory of God, and the firmament sheweth ye worke of his hands.

¹ Os céus declaram a glória de Deus; o firmamento proclama a obra das suas mãos.

² Day vnto day vttereth the same, and night vnto night teacheth knowledge.

² Um dia fala disso a outro dia; uma noite o revela a outra noite.

³ There is no speach nor language, where their voyce is not heard.

³ Sem discurso nem palavras, não se ouve a sua voz.

⁴ Their line is gone forth through all the earth, and their words into the endes of the world: in them hath he set a tabernacle for the sunne.

⁴ Mas a sua voz ressoa por toda a terra, e as suas palavras, até os confins do mundo. Nos céus ele armou uma tenda para o sol,

⁵ Which commeth forth as a bridegrome out of his chamber, and reioyceth like a mightie man to runne his race.

⁵ que é como um noivo que sai de seu aposento, e se lança em sua carreira com a alegria de um herói.

⁶ His going out is from the ende of the heauen, and his compasse is vnto the endes of ye same, and none is hid from the heate thereof.

⁶ Sai de uma extremidade dos céus e faz o seu trajeto até a outra; nada escapa ao seu calor.

⁷ The Lawe of the Lord is perfite, conuerting the soule: the testimonie of the Lord is sure, and giueth wisedome vnto the simple.

⁷ A lei do Senhor é perfeita, e revigora a alma. Os testemunhos do Senhor são dignos de confiança, e tornam sábios os inexperientes.

⁸ The statutes of the Lord are right and reioyce the heart: the commandement of the Lord is pure, and giueth light vnto the eyes.

⁸ Os preceitos do Senhor são justos, e dão alegria ao coração. Os mandamentos do Senhor são límpidos, e trazem luz aos olhos.

⁹ The feare of the Lord is cleane, and indureth for euer: the iudgements of the Lord are trueth: they are righteous altogether,

⁹ O temor do Senhor é puro, e dura para sempre. As ordenanças do Senhor são verdadeiras, são todas elas justas.

¹⁰ And more to be desired then golde, yea, then much fine golde: sweeter also then honie and the honie combe.

¹⁰ São mais desejáveis do que o ouro, do que muito ouro puro; são mais doces do que o mel, do que as gotas do favo.

¹¹ Moreouer by them is thy seruant made circumspect, and in keeping of them there is great reward.

¹¹ Por elas o teu servo é advertido; há grande recompensa em obedecer-lhes.

¹² Who can vnderstand his faultes? clense me from secret fautes.

¹² Quem pode discernir os próprios erros? Absolve-me dos que desconheço!

¹³ Keepe thy seruant also from presumptuous sinnes: let them not reigne ouer me: so shall I be vpright, and made cleane from much wickednes.

¹³ Também guarda o teu servo dos pecados intencionais; que eles não me dominem! Então serei íntegro, inocente de grande transgressão.

¹⁴ Let the wordes of my mouth, and the meditation of mine heart be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.

¹⁴ Que as palavras da minha boca e a meditação do meu coração sejam agradáveis a ti, Senhor, minha Rocha e meu Resgatador!
