¹ To him that excelleth. A Psalme of Dauid. The heauens declare the glory of God, and the firmament sheweth ye worke of his hands.

¹ Ao Músico-chefe, Salmo de Davi. Os céus declaram a glória de Deus; e o firmamento mostra o trabalho das suas mãos.

² Day vnto day vttereth the same, and night vnto night teacheth knowledge.

² Dia a dia profere discurso, e noite a noite mostra conhecimento.

³ There is no speach nor language, where their voyce is not heard.

³ Não há discurso nem linguagem onde sua voz não seja ouvida.

⁴ Their line is gone forth through all the earth, and their words into the endes of the world: in them hath he set a tabernacle for the sunne.

⁴ Sua linha vai por toda a terra, e as suas palavras ao fim do mundo. Neles ele pôs um tabernáculo para o sol,

⁵ Which commeth forth as a bridegrome out of his chamber, and reioyceth like a mightie man to runne his race.

⁵ Que é como um noivo vindo de sua câmara, e regozija como um homem forte para correr uma corrida.

⁶ His going out is from the ende of the heauen, and his compasse is vnto the endes of ye same, and none is hid from the heate thereof.

⁶ Sua saída é desde o fim do céu, e seu circuito até os fins dele; e não há nada escondido de seu calor.

⁷ The Lawe of the Lord is perfite, conuerting the soule: the testimonie of the Lord is sure, and giueth wisedome vnto the simple.

⁷ A lei do SENHOR é perfeita, convertendo a alma; o testemunho do SENHOR é certo, tornando sábio os simples.

⁸ The statutes of the Lord are right and reioyce the heart: the commandement of the Lord is pure, and giueth light vnto the eyes.

⁸ Os estatutos do SENHOR são retos, alegram o coração; o mandamento do SENHOR é puro, ilumina os olhos.

⁹ The feare of the Lord is cleane, and indureth for euer: the iudgements of the Lord are trueth: they are righteous altogether,

⁹ O temor do SENHOR é limpo, durará para sempre; os julgamentos do SENHOR são verdadeiros e justos juntamente.

¹⁰ And more to be desired then golde, yea, then much fine golde: sweeter also then honie and the honie combe.

¹⁰ Mais desejados são eles do que o ouro, sim, do que muito ouro fino; e também mais doces do que o mel e o favo.

¹¹ Moreouer by them is thy seruant made circumspect, and in keeping of them there is great reward.

¹¹ Além disso, por eles é o teu servo advertido; e em guardá-los há grande recompensa.

¹² Who can vnderstand his faultes? clense me from secret fautes.

¹² Quem pode entender seus erros? Purifica-me tu das falhas secretas.

¹³ Keepe thy seruant also from presumptuous sinnes: let them not reigne ouer me: so shall I be vpright, and made cleane from much wickednes.

¹³ Guarda teu servo também dos pecados presunçosos; que eles não tenham domínio sobre mim. Então serei reto, e serei inocente de grande transgressão.

¹⁴ Let the wordes of my mouth, and the meditation of mine heart be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.

¹⁴ Que as palavras da minha boca e a meditação do meu coração sejam aceitáveis à tua vista, ó SENHOR, minha força e meu redentor.
