1 Cast thy bread vpon the waters: for after many daies thou shalt finde it.
1 Empregue o seu dinheiro em bons negócios e com o tempo você terá o seu lucro.
2 Giue a portion to seuen, and also to eight: for thou knowest not what euill shalbe vpon ye earth.
2 Aplique-o em vários lugares e em negócios diferentes porque você não sabe que crise poderá acontecer no mundo.
3 If the clouds be full, they wil powre forth raine vpon the earth: and if the tree doe fall toward the South, or toward the North, in the place that the tree falleth, there it shalbe.
3 Quando as nuvens ficam cheias, a chuva cai. Uma árvore pode cair em qualquer direção, mas, no lugar em que cair, aí ficará.
4 He that obserueth ye winde, shall not sow, and he that regardeth the cloudes, shall not reape.
4 Quem fica esperando que o vento mude e que o tempo fique bom nunca plantará, nem colherá nada.
5 As thou knowest not which is ye way of the spirit, nor how the bones doe growe in the wombe of her that is with child: so thou knowest not the worke of God that worketh all.
5 Deus faz todas as coisas. E, como você não pode entender como começa uma nova vida dentro da barriga de uma mulher, assim também não pode entender as coisas que Deus faz.
6 In the morning sowe thy seede, and in the euening let not thine hand rest: for thou knowest not whither shall prosper, this or that, or whether both shalbe a like good.
6 Semeie de manhã e também de tarde porque você não sabe se todas as sementes crescerão bem, nem se uma crescerá melhor do que a outra.
7 Surely the light is a pleasant thing: and it is a good thing to the eyes to see the sunne.
7 Como é agradável a luz do dia, e como é bom ver o sol!
8 Though a man liue many yeeres, and in them all he reioyce, yet hee shall remember the daies of darkenesse, because they are manie, all that commeth is vanitie.
8 Viva alegre durante todos os anos da sua vida. Mas, mesmo que você viva muitos anos, lembre que ficará morto durante muito mais tempo. Tudo o que acontece é ilusão.
9 Reioyce, O yong man, in thy youth, and let thine heart cheere thee in the dayes of thy youth: and walke in the waies of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but knowe that for all these things, God wil bring thee to iudgement.
9 Jovem, aproveite a sua mocidade e seja feliz enquanto é moço. Faça tudo o que quiser e siga os desejos do seu coração. Mas lembre de uma coisa: Deus o julgará por tudo o que você fizer.
10 Therefore take away griefe out of thine heart, and cause euil to depart from thy flesh: for childehood and youth are vanitie.
10 Não deixe que nada o preocupe ou faça sofrer, pois a mocidade dura pouco.
