1 Now when King Dauid was olde, and striken in yeeres, they couered him with clothes, but no heate came vnto him.
1 Ora, o rei Davi era velho e ferido pelos anos; e eles o cobriam com roupas, mas ele não retinha calor.
2 Wherefore his seruants saide vnto him, Let there be sought for my lord ye King a yong virgin, and let her stand before the king, and cherish him: and let her lie in thy bosome, that my lord the King may get heate.
2 Portanto os seus servos lhe disseram: Busquem para o rei, meu senhor, uma jovem virgem; e deixe-a diante do rei, e deixe-a acalentá-lo, e que ela deite sobre o teu seio, para que meu senhor, o rei, possa obter calor.
3 So they sought for a faire young maide thoroughout all the coastes of Israel, and founde one Abishag a Shunamite, and brought her to the king.
3 Assim, eles procuraram uma donzela formosa em todos os termos de Israel, e encontraram Abisague, uma sunamita, e a trouxeram ao rei.
4 And the maid was exceeding faire, and cherished the king, and ministred to him, but the King knew her not.
4 E a donzela era mui formosa, e acalentou o rei, e ministrou a ele; porém o rei não a conheceu.
5 Then Adoniiah the sonne of Haggith exalted himselfe, saying, I will be king. And he gate him charets and horsemen, and fiftie men to run before him.
5 Então, Adonias, o filho de Hagite exaltou-se, dizendo: Eu serei rei; e preparou para si carruagens e cavaleiros, e cinquenta homens para correr diante de si.
6 And his father would not displease him from his childehood, to say, Why hast thou done so? And hee was a very goodly man, and his mother bare him next after Absalom.
6 E o seu pai não lhe havia desagradado em momento algum ao dizer: Por que fizeste assim? E ele também era um homem mui formoso; e a sua mãe o deu à luz depois de Absalão.
7 And he tooke counsel of Ioab the sonne of Zeruiah, and of Abiathar the Priest: and they helped forward Adoniiah.
7 E ele consultou Joabe, o filho de Zeruia, e Abiatar, o sacerdote; e eles, seguindo Adonias, ajudaram-no.
8 But Zadok the Priest, and Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada, and Nathan the Prophet, and Shimei, and Rei, and the men of might, which were with Dauid, were not with Adoniiah.
8 Porém, Zadoque, o sacerdote, e Benaia, o filho de Joiada, e Natã, o profeta, e Simei, e Reí e os valentes que pertenciam a Davi, não estavam com Adonias.
9 Then Adoniiah sacrificed sheepe and oxen, and fat cattel by the stone of Zoheleth, which is by En-rogel, and called all his brethren the kings sonnes, and al the men of Iudah ye Kings seruants,
9 E Adonias matou ovelhas e bois e gado gordo junto à pedra de Zoelete, que fica junto a En-Rogel, e chamou todos os seus irmãos, os filhos do rei, e todos os homens de Judá, servos do rei;
10 But Nathan the Prophet, and Benaiah, and the mightie men, and Salomon his brother hee called not.
10 porém a Natã, o profeta, e Benaia, e os valentes, e Salomão, o seu irmão, ele não chamou.
11 Wherefore Nathan spake vnto Bath-sheba the mother of Salomon, saying, Hast thou not heard, that Adoniiah ye sonne of Haggith doeth reigne, and Dauid our lord knoweth it not?
11 Pelo que Natã falou a Bate-Seba, a mãe de Salomão, dizendo: Não ouviste que Adonias, o filho de Hagite, reina, e Davi o nosso senhor não o sabe?
12 Now therefore come, and I will now giue thee counsell, howe to saue thine owne life, and the life of thy sonne Salomon.
12 Agora, portanto, vem, rogo-te, e deixa-me dar-te um conselho para que possas salvar a tua própria vida, e a vida do teu filho, Salomão.
13 Go, and get thee in vnto King Dauid, and say vnto him, Didest not thou, my lorde, O King, sweare vnto thine handmaide, saying, Assuredly Salomon thy sonne shall reigne after me, and he shall sit vpon my throne? why is then Adoniiah King?
13 Vai e achega-te ao rei Davi, e dize-lhe: Senhor, ó rei, não juraste à tua serva, dizendo: Certamente Salomão, o teu filho, reinará depois de mim, e ele se assentará no meu trono? Por que, então, Adonias reina?
14 Behold, while thou yet talkest there with the King, I also will come in after thee, and confirme thy wordes.
14 Eis que ali, enquanto tu ainda falares com o rei, eu também virei depois de ti e confirmarei as tuas palavras.
15 So Bath-sheba went in vnto the King into the chamber, and the King was verie olde, and Abishag the Shunammite ministred vnto ye King.
15 E Bate-Seba foi até ao rei, na câmara; e o rei era mui velho; e Abisague, a sunamita, ministrava ao rei.
16 And Bath-sheba bowed and made obeisance vnto the King. And the King saide, What is thy matter?
16 E Bate-Seba se curvou, e prestou reverência ao rei. E o rei disse: O que tu queres?
17 And shee answered him, My lorde, thou swarest by the Lord thy God vnto thine handmaide, saying, Assuredly Salomon thy sonne shall reigne after me, and he shall sit vpon my throne.
17 E ela lhe disse: Meu senhor, tu juraste à tua criada, pelo SENHOR teu Deus, dizendo: certamente Salomão, o teu filho, reinará depois de mim, e ele se assentará no meu trono.
18 And beholde, nowe is Adoniiah king, and now, my lord, O King, thou knowest it not.
18 E, agora, eis que Adonias reina; e tu, ó rei meu senhor, não o sabes;
19 And he hath offred many oxen, and fatte cattel, and sheepe, and hath called all the sonnes of the King, and Abiathar the Priest, and Ioab the captaine of the hoste: but Salomon thy seruant hath he not bidden.
19 e ele matou bois e gado gordo e ovelhas em abundância, e chamou todos os filhos do rei, e Abiatar, o sacerdote, e Joabe, o capitão do exército; mas Salomão, o teu servo, ele não chamou.
20 And thou, my lorde, O King, knowest that the eyes of all Israel are on thee, that thou shouldest tell them, who shoulde sit on the throne of my lord the King after him.
20 E tu, meu senhor, ó rei, os olhos de todo o Israel estão sobre ti, para que tu lhes diga quem se assentará no trono do rei meu senhor, depois dele.
21 For els when my lord the King shall sleepe with his fathers, I and my sonne Salomon shalbe reputed vile.
21 De outro modo, sucederá, quando o rei meu senhor, dormir com os seus pais, que eu e o meu filho Salomão seremos considerados transgressores.
22 And lo, while she yet talked with the King, Nathan also the Prophet came in.
22 E, eis que enquanto ela ainda falava com o rei, Natã, o profeta também entrou.
23 And they tolde the King, saying, Beholde, Nathan the Prophet. And when he was come in to the King, hee made obeisance before the King vpon his face to the ground.
23 E contaram ao rei, dizendo: Eis aqui Natã, o profeta. E quando ele entrou diante do rei, se curvou diante do rei com a face ao chão.
24 And Nathan saide, My lorde, O King, hast thou said, Adoniiah shall reigne after mee, and he shall sit vpon my throne?
24 E Natã disse: Ó rei meu senhor, tu disseste: Adonias reinará depois de mim, e ele se assentará no meu trono?
25 For hee is gone downe this day, and hath slaine many oxen, and fat cattel, and sheepe, and hath called al the Kings sonnes, and the captaines of the hoste, and Abiathar the Priest: and behold, they eate and drinke before him, and say, God saue King Adoniiah.
25 Porquanto ele desceu neste dia, e matou bois e gado gordo e ovelhas em abundância, e chamou todos os filhos do rei, e os capitães do exército, e Abiatar, o sacerdote; e, eis que eles comem e bebem diante dele, e dizem: Deus salve o rei Adonias.
26 But me thy seruant, and Zadok the Priest, and Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada, and thy seruant Salomon hath he not called.
26 Contudo, eu, o teu servo, e Zadoque, o sacerdote, e Benaia, o filho de Joiada, e o teu servo Salomão, ele não chamou.
27 Is this thing done by my lord the King, and thou hast not shewed it vnto thy seruant, who should sitte on the throne of my lorde the King after him?
27 Foi feito isto pelo meu senhor, o rei, e tu não mostraste para o teu servo quem deveria se assentar no trono do meu senhor, o rei, depois dele?
28 Then King Dauid answered, and saide, Call me Bath-sheba. And shee came into ye Kings presence, and stoode before the King.
28 Então, o rei Davi respondeu e disse: Chamai-me Bate-Seba. E ela entrou na presença do rei, e se pôs de pé diante do rei.
29 And the King sware, saying, As the Lord liueth, who hath redeemed my soule out of all aduersitie,
29 E o rei jurou, e disse: Como vive o SENHOR, que tem remido a minha alma de toda angústia,
30 That as I sware vnto thee by the Lord God of Israel, saying, Assuredly Salomon thy sonne shall reigne after me, and hee shall sit vpon my throne in my place, so will I certainely doe this day.
30 tal como jurei a ti pelo SENHOR Deus de Israel, dizendo: Certamente Salomão, o teu filho, reinará depois de mim, e se assentará no meu trono em meu lugar; assim desejo fazer neste dia.
31 Then Bath-sheba bowed her face to the earth, and did reuerence vnto the King, and said, God saue my lord King Dauid for euer.
31 Então, Bate-Seba curvou-se com a sua face para o chão, e prestou reverência ao rei, e disse: Que o meu senhor, o rei Davi, viva para sempre.
32 And King Dauid saide, Call mee Zadok the Priest, and Nathan the Prophet, and Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada. And they came before the King.
32 E o rei Davi disse: Chamai-me Zadoque, o sacerdote, e Natã, o profeta, e Benaia, o filho de Joiada. E eles vieram diante do rei.
33 Then the King said vnto them, Take with you the seruants of your lorde, and cause Salomon my sonne to ride vpon mine owne mule, and carie him downe to Gihon.
33 O rei também disse a eles: Tomai convosco os servos do vosso senhor, e fazei com que Salomão, o meu filho, monte sobre a minha própria mula, e fazei-o descer até Giom;
34 And let Zadok the Priest and Nathan the Prophet anoint him there King ouer Israel, and blowe ye the trumpet, and say, God saue king Salomon.
34 e que Zadoque, o sacerdote, e Natã, o profeta, unja-o ali rei sobre Israel; e tocareis a trombeta, e dizei: Deus salve o rei Salomão.
35 Then come vp after him, that hee may come and sit vpon my throne: and hee shall bee King in my steade: for I haue appointed him to be prince ouer Israel and ouer Iudah.
35 Então vós subireis depois dele, para que ele possa vir e se assentar sobre o meu trono; porque ele será rei em meu lugar; e eu o tenho indicado para ser soberano sobre Israel e sobre Judá.
36 Then Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada answered the King, and said, So be it, and the Lord God of my lord the King ratifie it.
36 E Benaia, o filho de Joiada, respondeu ao rei, e disse: Amém; assim o diga também o SENHOR Deus do rei meu senhor.
37 As the Lord hath bene with my lorde the King, so be he with Salomon, and exalt his throne aboue the throne of my lorde king Dauid.
37 Como o SENHOR tem estado com o meu senhor, o rei, assim também esteja com Salomão, e faça do seu trono maior do que o trono do meu senhor, o rei Davi.
38 So Zadok the Priest, and Nathan the Prophet, and Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada, and the Cherethites and the Pelethites went downe and caused Salomon to ride vpon king Dauids mule, and brought him to Gihon.
38 Assim desceram, Zadoque, o sacerdote, e Natã, o profeta, e Benaia, o filho de Joiada, e os quereteus, e os peleteus, e fizeram com que Salomão montasse sobre a mula do rei Davi, e o trouxeram para Giom.
39 And Zadok the Priest tooke an horne of oyle out of the Tabernacle, and anointed Salomon: and they blewe the trumpet, and all the people said, God saue king Salomon.
39 E Zadoque, o sacerdote, retirou um chifre de azeite do tabernáculo, e ungiu Salomão. E eles assopraram a trombeta; e todo o povo disse: Deus salve o rei Salomão.
40 And all the people came vp after him, and the people piped with pipes, and reioyced with great ioye, so that the earth rang with the sound of them.
40 E todo o povo subiu após ele, e o povo tocava flautas, e se regozijava com grande alegria, de forma que a terra se fendeu com o som delas.
41 And Adoniiah and all the ghestes that were with him, heard it: (and they had made an ende of eating) and when Ioab heard the sound of the trumpet, he said, What meaneth this noise and vprore in the citie?
41 E Adonias e todos os convidados que estavam com ele ouviram isto quando haviam terminado de comer. E quando Joabe ouviu o som da trombeta, ele disse: Por que este barulho e tumulto na cidade?
42 And as he yet spake, beholde, Ionathan the sonne of Abiathar the Priest came: and Adoniiah said, Come in: for thou art a worthie man, and bringest good tidings.
42 E, enquanto ele ainda falava, eis que chegou Jônatas, o filho de Abiatar, o sacerdote, e Adonias disse a ele: Entra; porquanto és um homem valente, e trazes boas novas.
43 And Ionathan answered, and said to Adoniiah, Verely our lord King Dauid hath made Salomon King.
43 E respondeu Jônatas, e disse a Adonias: Verdadeiramente o nosso senhor, o rei Davi, fez de Salomão rei.
44 And the King hath sent with him Zadok the Priest, and Nathan the Prophet, and Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, and they haue caused him to ride vpon the Kings mule.
44 E o rei enviou com ele Zadoque, o sacerdote, e Natã, o profeta, e Benaia, o filho de Joiada, e os quereteus, e os peleteus, e eles fizeram com que ele montasse na mula do rei;
45 And Zadok the Priest, and Nathan ye Prophet haue anointed him King in Gihon: and they are gone vp from thence with ioy, and the citie is moued: this is the noise that ye haue heard.
45 e Zadoque, o sacerdote, e Natã, o profeta, ungiram-no rei em Giom; e eles subiram de lá exultantes, de modo que a cidade ressoou novamente. Este é o barulho que vós ouvistes.
46 And Salomon also sitteth on the throne of the kingdome.
46 E Salomão também se assenta no trono do reino.
47 And moreouer the Kings seruantes came to blesse our lord King Dauid, saying, God make the name of Salomon more famous then thy name, and exalt his throne aboue thy throne: therefore the King worshipped vpon the bed.
47 E, além disso, os servos do rei vieram bendizer o nosso senhor, o rei Davi, dizendo: Deus faça o nome de Salomão melhor do que o teu nome, e faça o seu trono maior do que o teu trono. E o rei curvou-se sobre a cama.
48 And thus sayd the King also, Blessed bee the Lord God of Israel, who hath made one to sit on my throne this day, euen in my sight.
48 E também assim disse o rei: Bendito seja o SENHOR Deus de Israel, o qual concedeu um para se assentar no meu trono neste dia, e que os meus olhos o vissem.
49 Then all the ghestes that were with Adonijah, were afraide, and rose vp, and went euery man his way.
49 E todos os convidados que estavam com Adonias tiveram medo, e se levantaram, e se foram, cada qual, pelo seu caminho.
50 And Adonijah fearing the presence of Salomon, arose and went, and tooke holde on the hornes of the altar.
50 E Adonias temeu por causa de Salomão, e se levantou, e se foi, e se agarrou aos chifres do altar.
51 And one tolde Salomon, saying, Beholde, Adonijah doeth feare King Salomon: for lo, he hath caught holde on the hornes of the altar, saying, Let King Salomon sweare vnto me this day, that he will not slay his seruant with the sword.
51 E contaram a Salomão, dizendo: Eis que Adonias teme o rei Salomão; porque, eis que se agarrou aos chifres do altar, dizendo: Que o rei Salomão jure a mim hoje que não matará o seu servo pela espada.
52 Then Salomon sayd, If he will shewe him selfe a worthy man, there shall not an heare of him fall to the earth, but if wickednes be found in him, he shall dye.
52 E Salomão disse: Se ele se apresentar como um homem digno, nenhum cabelo da sua cabeça cairá por terra; porém se nele for encontrada iniquidade, ele morrerá.
53 Then King Salomon sent, and they brought him from the altar, and he came and did obeisance vnto King Salomon. And Salomon sayde vnto him, Go to thine house.
53 Assim, o rei Salomão mandou, e o fizeram descer do altar. E ele veio e se curvou diante do rei Salomão; e Salomão lhe disse: Vai para a tua casa.
