1 Now when King Dauid was olde, and striken in yeeres, they couered him with clothes, but no heate came vnto him.
1 Sendo, pois, o rei Davi já velho, e entrado em dias, cobriam-no de roupas, porém não se aquecia.
2 Wherefore his seruants saide vnto him, Let there be sought for my lord ye King a yong virgin, and let her stand before the king, and cherish him: and let her lie in thy bosome, that my lord the King may get heate.
2 Então disseram-lhe os seus servos: Busquem para o rei meu senhor uma moça virgem, que esteja perante o rei, e tenha cuidado dele; e durma no seu seio, para que o rei meu senhor se aqueça.
3 So they sought for a faire young maide thoroughout all the coastes of Israel, and founde one Abishag a Shunamite, and brought her to the king.
3 E buscaram por todos os termos de Israel uma moça formosa, e acharam a Abisague, sunamita; e a trouxeram ao rei.
4 And the maid was exceeding faire, and cherished the king, and ministred to him, but the King knew her not.
4 E era a moça sobremaneira formosa; e tinha cuidado do rei, e o servia; porém o rei não a conheceu.
5 Then Adoniiah the sonne of Haggith exalted himselfe, saying, I will be king. And he gate him charets and horsemen, and fiftie men to run before him.
5 Então Adonias, filho de Hagite, se levantou, dizendo: Eu reinarei. E preparou carros, e cavaleiros, e cinqüenta homens, que corressem adiante dele.
6 And his father would not displease him from his childehood, to say, Why hast thou done so? And hee was a very goodly man, and his mother bare him next after Absalom.
6 E nunca seu pai o tinha contrariado, dizendo: Por que fizeste assim? E era ele também muito formoso de parecer; e Hagite o tivera depois de Absalão.
7 And he tooke counsel of Ioab the sonne of Zeruiah, and of Abiathar the Priest: and they helped forward Adoniiah.
7 E tinha entendimento com Joabe, filho de Zeruia, e com Abiatar o sacerdote; os quais o ajudavam, seguindo a Adonias.
8 But Zadok the Priest, and Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada, and Nathan the Prophet, and Shimei, and Rei, and the men of might, which were with Dauid, were not with Adoniiah.
8 Porém Zadoque, o sacerdote, e Benaia, filho de Joiada, e Natã, o profeta, e Simei, e Rei, e os poderosos que Davi tinha, não estavam com Adonias.
9 Then Adoniiah sacrificed sheepe and oxen, and fat cattel by the stone of Zoheleth, which is by En-rogel, and called all his brethren the kings sonnes, and al the men of Iudah ye Kings seruants,
9 E matou Adonias ovelhas, e vacas, e animais cevados, junto à pedra de Zoelete, que está perto da fonte de Rogel; e convidou a todos os seus irmãos, os filhos do rei, e a todos os homens de Judá, servos do rei.
10 But Nathan the Prophet, and Benaiah, and the mightie men, and Salomon his brother hee called not.
10 Porém a Natã, o profeta, e a Benaia, e aos poderosos, e a Salomão, seu irmão, não convidou.
11 Wherefore Nathan spake vnto Bath-sheba the mother of Salomon, saying, Hast thou not heard, that Adoniiah ye sonne of Haggith doeth reigne, and Dauid our lord knoweth it not?
11 Então falou Natã a Bate-Seba, mãe de Salomão, dizendo: Não ouviste que Adonias, filho de Hagite, reina? E que nosso senhor Davi não o sabe?
12 Now therefore come, and I will now giue thee counsell, howe to saue thine owne life, and the life of thy sonne Salomon.
12 Vem, pois, agora, e deixa-me dar-te um conselho, para que salves a tua vida, e a de Salomão teu filho.
13 Go, and get thee in vnto King Dauid, and say vnto him, Didest not thou, my lorde, O King, sweare vnto thine handmaide, saying, Assuredly Salomon thy sonne shall reigne after me, and he shall sit vpon my throne? why is then Adoniiah King?
13 Vai, e chega ao rei Davi, e dize-lhe: Não juraste tu, rei senhor meu, à tua serva, dizendo: Certamente teu filho Salomão reinará depois de mim, e ele se assentará no meu trono? Por que, pois, reina Adonias?
14 Behold, while thou yet talkest there with the King, I also will come in after thee, and confirme thy wordes.
14 Eis que, estando tu ainda aí falando com o rei, eu também entrarei depois de ti, e confirmarei as tuas palavras.
15 So Bath-sheba went in vnto the King into the chamber, and the King was verie olde, and Abishag the Shunammite ministred vnto ye King.
15 E foi Bate-Seba ao rei na sua câmara; e o rei era muito velho; e Abisague, a sunamita, servia ao rei.
16 And Bath-sheba bowed and made obeisance vnto the King. And the King saide, What is thy matter?
16 E Bate-Seba inclinou a cabeça, e se prostrou perante o rei; e disse o rei: Que tens?
17 And shee answered him, My lorde, thou swarest by the Lord thy God vnto thine handmaide, saying, Assuredly Salomon thy sonne shall reigne after me, and he shall sit vpon my throne.
17 E ela lhe disse: Senhor meu, tu juraste à tua serva pelo Senhor teu Deus, dizendo: Salomão, teu filho, reinará depois de mim, e ele se assentará no meu trono.
18 And beholde, nowe is Adoniiah king, and now, my lord, O King, thou knowest it not.
18 E agora eis que Adonias reina; e tu, ó rei meu senhor, não o sabes.
19 And he hath offred many oxen, and fatte cattel, and sheepe, and hath called all the sonnes of the King, and Abiathar the Priest, and Ioab the captaine of the hoste: but Salomon thy seruant hath he not bidden.
19 E matou vacas, e animais cevados, e ovelhas em abundância, e convidou a todos os filhos do rei, e a Abiatar, o sacerdote, e a Joabe, capitão do exército, mas a teu servo Salomão não convidou.
20 And thou, my lorde, O King, knowest that the eyes of all Israel are on thee, that thou shouldest tell them, who shoulde sit on the throne of my lord the King after him.
20 Porém, ó rei meu senhor, os olhos de todo o Israel estão sobre ti, para que lhe declares quem se assentará sobre o trono do rei meu senhor, depois dele.
21 For els when my lord the King shall sleepe with his fathers, I and my sonne Salomon shalbe reputed vile.
21 De outro modo sucederá que, quando o rei meu senhor dormir com seus pais, eu e Salomão meu filho seremos os culpados.
22 And lo, while she yet talked with the King, Nathan also the Prophet came in.
22 E, estando ela ainda falando com o rei, eis que entra o profeta Natã.
23 And they tolde the King, saying, Beholde, Nathan the Prophet. And when he was come in to the King, hee made obeisance before the King vpon his face to the ground.
23 E o fizeram saber ao rei, dizendo: Eis aí está o profeta Natã. E entrou à presença do rei, e prostrou-se diante dele com o rosto em terra.
24 And Nathan saide, My lorde, O King, hast thou said, Adoniiah shall reigne after mee, and he shall sit vpon my throne?
24 E disse Natã: Ó rei meu senhor, disseste tu: Adonias reinará depois de mim, e ele se assentará sobre o meu trono?
25 For hee is gone downe this day, and hath slaine many oxen, and fat cattel, and sheepe, and hath called al the Kings sonnes, and the captaines of the hoste, and Abiathar the Priest: and behold, they eate and drinke before him, and say, God saue King Adoniiah.
25 Porque hoje desceu, e matou vacas, e animais cevados, e ovelhas em abundância, e convidou a todos os filhos do rei e aos capitães do exército, e a Abiatar, o sacerdote, e eis que estão comendo e bebendo perante ele; e dizem: Viva o rei Adonias.
26 But me thy seruant, and Zadok the Priest, and Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada, and thy seruant Salomon hath he not called.
26 Porém a mim, sendo eu teu servo, e a Zadoque, o sacerdote, e a Benaia, filho de Joiada, e a Salomão, teu servo, não convidou.
27 Is this thing done by my lord the King, and thou hast not shewed it vnto thy seruant, who should sitte on the throne of my lorde the King after him?
27 Foi feito isto da parte do rei meu senhor? E não fizeste saber a teu servo quem se assentaria no trono do rei meu senhor depois dele?
28 Then King Dauid answered, and saide, Call me Bath-sheba. And shee came into ye Kings presence, and stoode before the King.
28 E respondeu o rei Davi, e disse: Chamai-me a Bate-Seba. E ela entrou à presença do rei; e ficou em pé diante do rei.
29 And the King sware, saying, As the Lord liueth, who hath redeemed my soule out of all aduersitie,
29 Então jurou o rei e disse: Vive o Senhor, o qual remiu a minha alma de toda a angústia,
30 That as I sware vnto thee by the Lord God of Israel, saying, Assuredly Salomon thy sonne shall reigne after me, and hee shall sit vpon my throne in my place, so will I certainely doe this day.
30 Que, como te jurei pelo Senhor Deus de Israel, dizendo: Certamente teu filho Salomão reinará depois de mim, e ele se assentará no meu trono, em meu lugar, assim o farei no dia de hoje.
31 Then Bath-sheba bowed her face to the earth, and did reuerence vnto the King, and said, God saue my lord King Dauid for euer.
31 Então Bate-Seba se inclinou com o rosto em terra e se prostrou diante do rei, e disse: Viva o rei Davi meu senhor para sempre.
32 And King Dauid saide, Call mee Zadok the Priest, and Nathan the Prophet, and Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada. And they came before the King.
32 E disse o rei Davi: Chamai-me a Zadoque, o sacerdote, e a Natã, o profeta, e a Benaia, filho de Joiada. E eles entraram à presença do rei.
33 Then the King said vnto them, Take with you the seruants of your lorde, and cause Salomon my sonne to ride vpon mine owne mule, and carie him downe to Gihon.
33 E o rei lhes disse: Tomai convosco os servos de vosso senhor, e fazei subir a meu filho Salomão na mula que é minha; e levai-o a Giom.
34 And let Zadok the Priest and Nathan the Prophet anoint him there King ouer Israel, and blowe ye the trumpet, and say, God saue king Salomon.
34 E Zadoque, o sacerdote, com Natã, o profeta, ali o ungirão rei sobre Israel; então tocareis a trombeta, e direis: Viva o rei Salomão!
35 Then come vp after him, that hee may come and sit vpon my throne: and hee shall bee King in my steade: for I haue appointed him to be prince ouer Israel and ouer Iudah.
35 Então subireis após ele, e virá e se assentará no meu trono, e ele reinará em meu lugar; porque tenho ordenado que ele seja guia sobre Israel e sobre Judá.
36 Then Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada answered the King, and said, So be it, and the Lord God of my lord the King ratifie it.
36 Então Benaia, filho de Joiada, respondeu ao rei, e disse: Amém; assim o diga o SENHOR Deus do rei meu senhor.
37 As the Lord hath bene with my lorde the King, so be he with Salomon, and exalt his throne aboue the throne of my lorde king Dauid.
37 Como o SENHOR foi com o rei meu senhor, assim o seja com Salomão, e faça que o seu trono seja maior do que o trono do rei Davi meu senhor.
38 So Zadok the Priest, and Nathan the Prophet, and Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada, and the Cherethites and the Pelethites went downe and caused Salomon to ride vpon king Dauids mule, and brought him to Gihon.
38 Então desceu Zadoque, o sacerdote, e Natã, o profeta, e Benaia, filho de Joiada, e os quereteus, e os peleteus, e fizeram montar a Salomão na mula do rei Davi, e o levaram a Giom.
39 And Zadok the Priest tooke an horne of oyle out of the Tabernacle, and anointed Salomon: and they blewe the trumpet, and all the people said, God saue king Salomon.
39 E Zadoque, o sacerdote, tomou o chifre de azeite do tabernáculo, e ungiu a Salomão; e tocaram a trombeta, e todo o povo disse: Viva o rei Salomão!
40 And all the people came vp after him, and the people piped with pipes, and reioyced with great ioye, so that the earth rang with the sound of them.
40 E todo o povo subiu após ele, e o povo tocava gaitas, e alegrava-se com grande alegria; de maneira que com o seu clamor a terra retiniu.
41 And Adoniiah and all the ghestes that were with him, heard it: (and they had made an ende of eating) and when Ioab heard the sound of the trumpet, he said, What meaneth this noise and vprore in the citie?
41 E o ouviu Adonias, e todos os convidados que estavam com ele, que tinham acabado de comer; também Joabe ouviu o sonido das trombetas, e disse: Por que há tal ruído de cidade alvoroçada?
42 And as he yet spake, beholde, Ionathan the sonne of Abiathar the Priest came: and Adoniiah said, Come in: for thou art a worthie man, and bringest good tidings.
42 Estando ele ainda falando, eis que vem Jônatas, filho de Abiatar, o sacerdote, e disse Adonias: Entra, porque és homem valente, e trarás boas novas.
43 And Ionathan answered, and said to Adoniiah, Verely our lord King Dauid hath made Salomon King.
43 E respondeu Jônatas, e disse a Adonias: Certamente nosso senhor, rei Davi, constituiu rei a Salomão;
44 And the King hath sent with him Zadok the Priest, and Nathan the Prophet, and Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, and they haue caused him to ride vpon the Kings mule.
44 E o rei enviou com ele a Zadoque, o sacerdote, e a Natã, o profeta, e a Benaia, filho de Joiada, e aos quereteus e aos peleteus; e o fizeram montar na mula do rei.
45 And Zadok the Priest, and Nathan ye Prophet haue anointed him King in Gihon: and they are gone vp from thence with ioy, and the citie is moued: this is the noise that ye haue heard.
45 E Zadoque, o sacerdote, e Natã, o profeta, o ungiram rei em Giom, e dali subiram alegres, e a cidade está alvoroçada; este é o clamor que ouviste.
46 And Salomon also sitteth on the throne of the kingdome.
46 E também Salomão está assentado no trono do reino.
47 And moreouer the Kings seruantes came to blesse our lord King Dauid, saying, God make the name of Salomon more famous then thy name, and exalt his throne aboue thy throne: therefore the King worshipped vpon the bed.
47 E também os servos do rei vieram abençoar a nosso senhor, o rei Davi, dizendo: Faça teu Deus que o nome de Salomão seja melhor do que o teu nome; e faça que o seu trono seja maior do que o teu trono. E o rei se inclinou no leito.
48 And thus sayd the King also, Blessed bee the Lord God of Israel, who hath made one to sit on my throne this day, euen in my sight.
48 E também disse o rei assim: Bendito o Senhor Deus de Israel, que hoje tem dado quem se assente no meu trono, e que os meus olhos o vissem.
49 Then all the ghestes that were with Adonijah, were afraide, and rose vp, and went euery man his way.
49 Então estremeceram e se levantaram todos os convidados que estavam com Adonias; e cada um se foi ao seu caminho.
50 And Adonijah fearing the presence of Salomon, arose and went, and tooke holde on the hornes of the altar.
50 Porém Adonias temeu a Salomão; e levantou-se, e foi, e apegou-se às pontas do altar.
51 And one tolde Salomon, saying, Beholde, Adonijah doeth feare King Salomon: for lo, he hath caught holde on the hornes of the altar, saying, Let King Salomon sweare vnto me this day, that he will not slay his seruant with the sword.
51 E fez-se saber a Salomão, dizendo: Eis que Adonias teme ao rei Salomão; porque eis que apegou-se às pontas do altar, dizendo: Jure-me hoje o rei Salomão que não matará o seu servo à espada.
52 Then Salomon sayd, If he will shewe him selfe a worthy man, there shall not an heare of him fall to the earth, but if wickednes be found in him, he shall dye.
52 E disse Salomão: Se for homem de bem, nem um de seus cabelos cairá em terra; se, porém, se achar nele maldade, morrerá.
53 Then King Salomon sent, and they brought him from the altar, and he came and did obeisance vnto King Salomon. And Salomon sayde vnto him, Go to thine house.
53 E mandou o rei Salomão, e o fizeram descer do altar; e veio, e prostrou-se perante o rei Salomão, e Salomão lhe disse: Vai para tua casa.
