1 Now when King Dauid was olde, and striken in yeeres, they couered him with clothes, but no heate came vnto him.
1 Sendo o rei Davi já velho e entrado em dias, envolviam-no com roupas, porém não se aquecia.
2 Wherefore his seruants saide vnto him, Let there be sought for my lord ye King a yong virgin, and let her stand before the king, and cherish him: and let her lie in thy bosome, that my lord the King may get heate.
2 Então, lhe disseram os seus servos: Procure-se para o rei, nosso senhor, uma jovem donzela, que esteja perante o rei, e tenha cuidado dele, e durma nos seus braços, para que o rei, nosso senhor, se aqueça.
3 So they sought for a faire young maide thoroughout all the coastes of Israel, and founde one Abishag a Shunamite, and brought her to the king.
3 Procuraram, pois, por todos os limites de Israel uma jovem formosa; acharam Abisague, sunamita, e a trouxeram ao rei.
4 And the maid was exceeding faire, and cherished the king, and ministred to him, but the King knew her not.
4 A jovem era sobremaneira formosa; cuidava do rei e o servia, porém o rei não a possuiu.
5 Then Adoniiah the sonne of Haggith exalted himselfe, saying, I will be king. And he gate him charets and horsemen, and fiftie men to run before him.
5 Então, Adonias, filho de Hagite, se exaltou e disse: Eu reinarei. Providenciou carros, e cavaleiros, e cinquenta homens que corressem adiante dele.
6 And his father would not displease him from his childehood, to say, Why hast thou done so? And hee was a very goodly man, and his mother bare him next after Absalom.
6 Jamais seu pai o contrariou, dizendo: Por que procedes assim? Além disso, era ele de aparência mui formosa e nascera depois de Absalão.
7 And he tooke counsel of Ioab the sonne of Zeruiah, and of Abiathar the Priest: and they helped forward Adoniiah.
7 Entendia-se ele com Joabe, filho de Zeruia, e com Abiatar, o sacerdote, que, seguindo-o, o ajudavam.
8 But Zadok the Priest, and Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada, and Nathan the Prophet, and Shimei, and Rei, and the men of might, which were with Dauid, were not with Adoniiah.
8 Porém Zadoque, o sacerdote, e Benaia, filho de Joiada, e Natã, o profeta, e Simei, e Reí, e os valentes que Davi tinha não apoiavam Adonias.
9 Then Adoniiah sacrificed sheepe and oxen, and fat cattel by the stone of Zoheleth, which is by En-rogel, and called all his brethren the kings sonnes, and al the men of Iudah ye Kings seruants,
9 Imolou Adonias ovelhas, e bois, e animais cevados, junto à pedra de Zoelete, que está perto da fonte de Rogel, e convidou todos os seus irmãos, os filhos do rei, e todos os homens de Judá, servos do rei,
10 But Nathan the Prophet, and Benaiah, and the mightie men, and Salomon his brother hee called not.
10 porém a Natã, profeta, e a Benaia, e os valentes, e a Salomão, seu irmão, não convidou.
11 Wherefore Nathan spake vnto Bath-sheba the mother of Salomon, saying, Hast thou not heard, that Adoniiah ye sonne of Haggith doeth reigne, and Dauid our lord knoweth it not?
11 Então, disse Natã a Bate-Seba, mãe de Salomão: Não ouviste que Adonias, filho de Hagite, reina e que nosso senhor, Davi, não o sabe?
12 Now therefore come, and I will now giue thee counsell, howe to saue thine owne life, and the life of thy sonne Salomon.
12 Vem, pois, e permite que eu te dê um conselho, para que salves a tua vida e a de Salomão, teu filho.
13 Go, and get thee in vnto King Dauid, and say vnto him, Didest not thou, my lorde, O King, sweare vnto thine handmaide, saying, Assuredly Salomon thy sonne shall reigne after me, and he shall sit vpon my throne? why is then Adoniiah King?
13 Vai, apresenta-te ao rei Davi e dize-lhe: Não juraste, ó rei, senhor meu, à tua serva, dizendo: Teu filho Salomão reinará depois de mim e se assentará no meu trono? Por que, pois, reina Adonias?
14 Behold, while thou yet talkest there with the King, I also will come in after thee, and confirme thy wordes.
14 Eis que, estando tu ainda a falar com o rei, eu também entrarei depois de ti e confirmarei as tuas palavras.
15 So Bath-sheba went in vnto the King into the chamber, and the King was verie olde, and Abishag the Shunammite ministred vnto ye King.
15 Apresentou-se, pois, Bate-Seba ao rei na recâmara; era já o rei mui velho, e Abisague, a sunamita, o servia.
16 And Bath-sheba bowed and made obeisance vnto the King. And the King saide, What is thy matter?
16 Bate-Seba inclinou a cabeça e prostrou-se perante o rei, que perguntou: Que desejas?
17 And shee answered him, My lorde, thou swarest by the Lord thy God vnto thine handmaide, saying, Assuredly Salomon thy sonne shall reigne after me, and he shall sit vpon my throne.
17 Respondeu-lhe ela: Senhor meu, juraste à tua serva pelo Senhor , teu Deus, dizendo: Salomão, teu filho, reinará depois de mim e ele se assentará no meu trono.
18 And beholde, nowe is Adoniiah king, and now, my lord, O King, thou knowest it not.
18 Agora, eis que Adonias reina, e tu, ó rei, meu senhor, não o sabes.
19 And he hath offred many oxen, and fatte cattel, and sheepe, and hath called all the sonnes of the King, and Abiathar the Priest, and Ioab the captaine of the hoste: but Salomon thy seruant hath he not bidden.
19 Imolou bois, e animais cevados, e ovelhas em abundância. Convidou todos os filhos do rei, a Abiatar, o sacerdote, e a Joabe, comandante do exército, mas a teu servo Salomão não convidou.
20 And thou, my lorde, O King, knowest that the eyes of all Israel are on thee, that thou shouldest tell them, who shoulde sit on the throne of my lord the King after him.
20 Porém, ó rei, meu senhor, todo o Israel tem os olhos em ti, para que lhe declares quem será o teu sucessor que se assentará no teu trono.
21 For els when my lord the King shall sleepe with his fathers, I and my sonne Salomon shalbe reputed vile.
21 Do contrário, sucederá que, quando o rei, meu senhor, jazer com seus pais, eu e Salomão, meu filho, seremos tidos por culpados.
22 And lo, while she yet talked with the King, Nathan also the Prophet came in.
22 Estando ela ainda a falar com o rei, eis que entra o profeta Natã.
23 And they tolde the King, saying, Beholde, Nathan the Prophet. And when he was come in to the King, hee made obeisance before the King vpon his face to the ground.
23 E o fizeram saber ao rei, dizendo: Aí está o profeta Natã. Apresentou-se ele ao rei, prostrou-se com o rosto em terra perante ele
24 And Nathan saide, My lorde, O King, hast thou said, Adoniiah shall reigne after mee, and he shall sit vpon my throne?
24 e disse: Ó rei, meu senhor, acaso disseste: Adonias reinará depois de mim e ele é quem se assentará no meu trono?
25 For hee is gone downe this day, and hath slaine many oxen, and fat cattel, and sheepe, and hath called al the Kings sonnes, and the captaines of the hoste, and Abiathar the Priest: and behold, they eate and drinke before him, and say, God saue King Adoniiah.
25 Porque, hoje, desceu, imolou bois, e animais cevados, e ovelhas em abundância e convidou todos os filhos do rei, e os chefes do exército, e a Abiatar, o sacerdote, e eis que estão comendo e bebendo perante ele; e dizem: Viva o rei Adonias!
26 But me thy seruant, and Zadok the Priest, and Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada, and thy seruant Salomon hath he not called.
26 Porém a mim, sendo eu teu servo, e a Zadoque, o sacerdote, e a Benaia, filho de Joiada, e a Salomão, teu servo, não convidou.
27 Is this thing done by my lord the King, and thou hast not shewed it vnto thy seruant, who should sitte on the throne of my lorde the King after him?
27 Foi isto feito da parte do rei, meu senhor? E não fizeste saber a teu servo quem se assentaria no teu trono, depois de ti?
28 Then King Dauid answered, and saide, Call me Bath-sheba. And shee came into ye Kings presence, and stoode before the King.
28 Respondeu o rei Davi e disse: Chamai-me a Bate-Seba. Ela se apresentou ao rei e se pôs diante dele.
29 And the King sware, saying, As the Lord liueth, who hath redeemed my soule out of all aduersitie,
29 Então, jurou o rei e disse: Tão certo como vive o Senhor , que remiu a minha alma de toda a angústia,
30 That as I sware vnto thee by the Lord God of Israel, saying, Assuredly Salomon thy sonne shall reigne after me, and hee shall sit vpon my throne in my place, so will I certainely doe this day.
30 farei no dia de hoje, como te jurei pelo Senhor , Deus de Israel, dizendo: Teu filho Salomão reinará depois de mim e se assentará no meu trono, em meu lugar.
31 Then Bath-sheba bowed her face to the earth, and did reuerence vnto the King, and said, God saue my lord King Dauid for euer.
31 Então, Bate-Seba se inclinou, e se prostrou com o rosto em terra diante do rei, e disse: Viva o rei Davi, meu senhor, para sempre!
32 And King Dauid saide, Call mee Zadok the Priest, and Nathan the Prophet, and Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada. And they came before the King.
32 Disse o rei Davi: Chamai-me Zadoque, o sacerdote, e Natã, o profeta, e Benaia, filho de Joiada. E eles se apresentaram ao rei.
33 Then the King said vnto them, Take with you the seruants of your lorde, and cause Salomon my sonne to ride vpon mine owne mule, and carie him downe to Gihon.
33 Disse-lhes o rei: Tomai convosco os servos de vosso senhor, e fazei montar meu filho Salomão na minha mula, e levai-o a Giom.
34 And let Zadok the Priest and Nathan the Prophet anoint him there King ouer Israel, and blowe ye the trumpet, and say, God saue king Salomon.
34 Zadoque, o sacerdote, com Natã, o profeta, ali o ungirão rei sobre Israel; então, tocareis a trombeta e direis: Viva o rei Salomão!
35 Then come vp after him, that hee may come and sit vpon my throne: and hee shall bee King in my steade: for I haue appointed him to be prince ouer Israel and ouer Iudah.
35 Subireis após ele, e virá e se assentará no meu trono, pois é ele quem reinará em meu lugar; porque ordenei seja ele príncipe sobre Israel e sobre Judá.
36 Then Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada answered the King, and said, So be it, and the Lord God of my lord the King ratifie it.
36 Então, Benaia, filho de Joiada, respondeu ao rei e disse: Amém! Assim o diga o Senhor , Deus do rei, meu senhor.
37 As the Lord hath bene with my lorde the King, so be he with Salomon, and exalt his throne aboue the throne of my lorde king Dauid.
37 Como o Senhor foi com o rei, meu senhor, assim seja com Salomão e faça que o trono deste seja maior do que o trono do rei Davi, meu senhor.
38 So Zadok the Priest, and Nathan the Prophet, and Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada, and the Cherethites and the Pelethites went downe and caused Salomon to ride vpon king Dauids mule, and brought him to Gihon.
38 Então, desceu Zadoque, o sacerdote, e Natã, o profeta, e Benaia, filho de Joiada, e a guarda real, fizeram montar Salomão a mula que era do rei Davi e o levaram a Giom.
39 And Zadok the Priest tooke an horne of oyle out of the Tabernacle, and anointed Salomon: and they blewe the trumpet, and all the people said, God saue king Salomon.
39 Zadoque, o sacerdote, tomou do tabernáculo o chifre do azeite e ungiu a Salomão; tocaram a trombeta, e todo o povo exclamou: Viva o rei Salomão!
40 And all the people came vp after him, and the people piped with pipes, and reioyced with great ioye, so that the earth rang with the sound of them.
40 Após ele, subiu todo o povo, tocando gaitas e alegrando-se com grande alegria, de maneira que, com o seu clamor, parecia fender-se a terra.
41 And Adoniiah and all the ghestes that were with him, heard it: (and they had made an ende of eating) and when Ioab heard the sound of the trumpet, he said, What meaneth this noise and vprore in the citie?
41 Adonias e todos os convidados que com ele estavam o ouviram, quando acabavam de comer; também Joabe ouviu o sonido das trombetas e disse: Que significa esse ruído de cidade alvoroçada?
42 And as he yet spake, beholde, Ionathan the sonne of Abiathar the Priest came: and Adoniiah said, Come in: for thou art a worthie man, and bringest good tidings.
42 Estando ele ainda a falar, eis que vem Jônatas, filho de Abiatar, o sacerdote; disse Adonias: Entra, porque és homem valente e trazes boas-novas.
43 And Ionathan answered, and said to Adoniiah, Verely our lord King Dauid hath made Salomon King.
43 Respondeu Jônatas e disse a Adonias: Pelo contrário, nosso senhor, o rei Davi, constituiu rei a Salomão.
44 And the King hath sent with him Zadok the Priest, and Nathan the Prophet, and Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, and they haue caused him to ride vpon the Kings mule.
44 E Davi enviou com ele a Zadoque, o sacerdote, e a Natã, o profeta, e a Benaia, filho de Joiada, e aos da guarda real; e o fizeram montar a mula que era do rei.
45 And Zadok the Priest, and Nathan ye Prophet haue anointed him King in Gihon: and they are gone vp from thence with ioy, and the citie is moued: this is the noise that ye haue heard.
45 Zadoque, o sacerdote, e Natã, o profeta, o ungiram rei em Giom e dali subiram alegres, e a cidade se alvoroçou; esse é o clamor que ouviste.
46 And Salomon also sitteth on the throne of the kingdome.
46 Também Salomão já está assentado no trono do reino.
47 And moreouer the Kings seruantes came to blesse our lord King Dauid, saying, God make the name of Salomon more famous then thy name, and exalt his throne aboue thy throne: therefore the King worshipped vpon the bed.
47 Ademais, os oficiais do rei Davi vieram congratular-se com ele e disseram: Faça teu Deus que o nome de Salomão seja mais célebre do que o teu nome; e faça que o seu trono seja maior do que o teu trono. E o rei se inclinou sobre o leito.
48 And thus sayd the King also, Blessed bee the Lord God of Israel, who hath made one to sit on my throne this day, euen in my sight.
48 Também disse o rei assim: Bendito o Senhor , Deus de Israel, que deu, hoje, quem se assente no meu trono, vendo-o os meus próprios olhos.
49 Then all the ghestes that were with Adonijah, were afraide, and rose vp, and went euery man his way.
49 Então, estremeceram e se levantaram todos os convidados que estavam com Adonias, e todos se foram, tomando cada um seu caminho.
50 And Adonijah fearing the presence of Salomon, arose and went, and tooke holde on the hornes of the altar.
50 Porém Adonias, temendo a Salomão, levantou-se, foi e pegou nas pontas do altar.
51 And one tolde Salomon, saying, Beholde, Adonijah doeth feare King Salomon: for lo, he hath caught holde on the hornes of the altar, saying, Let King Salomon sweare vnto me this day, that he will not slay his seruant with the sword.
51 Foi dito a Salomão: Eis que Adonias tem medo de ti, porque pega nas pontas do altar, dizendo: Jure-me, hoje, o rei Salomão que não matará a seu servo à espada.
52 Then Salomon sayd, If he will shewe him selfe a worthy man, there shall not an heare of him fall to the earth, but if wickednes be found in him, he shall dye.
52 Respondeu Salomão: Se for homem de bem, nem um de seus cabelos cairá em terra; porém, se se achar nele maldade, morrerá.
53 Then King Salomon sent, and they brought him from the altar, and he came and did obeisance vnto King Salomon. And Salomon sayde vnto him, Go to thine house.
53 Enviou o rei Salomão mensageiros, e o fizeram descer do altar; então, veio ele e se prostrou perante o rei Salomão, e este lhe disse: Vai para tua casa.
