1 Put them in mind that to princes and to powers they are to hearken and to be obedient, and to be prepared for every good work.
1 Lembre a todos que se sujeitem aos governantes e às autoridades, sejam obedientes, estejam sempre prontos a fazer tudo o que é bom,
2 And against no man to rail, nor be contentious, but gentle, and in every thing to show their benignity towards all men.
2 não caluniem a ninguém, sejam pacíficos e amáveis e mostrem sempre verdadeira mansidão para com todos os homens.
3 For we also were afore-time without understanding, and disobedient and erring, and were subjected to various lusts; and in malice, and in envy we conversed, and were hateful, and also hating one another.
3 Houve tempo em que nós também éramos insensatos e desobedientes, vivíamos enganados e escravizados por toda espécie de paixões e prazeres. Vivíamos na maldade e na inveja, sendo detestáveis e odiando-nos uns aos outros.
4 But when appeared the goodness and mercy of Aloha our Saviour,
4 Mas quando se manifestaram a bondade e o amor pelos homens da parte de Deus, nosso Salvador,
5 not by works of righteousness which we had done, but by his own mercy he saved us, by the laving of the birth which is afresh, by the renewing of the Spirit of Holiness,
5 não por causa de atos de justiça por nós praticados, mas devido à sua misericórdia, ele nos salvou pelo lavar regenerador e renovador do Espírito Santo,
6 which he shed upon us abundantly, by Jeshu Meshiha our Saviour;
6 que ele derramou sobre nós generosamente, por meio de Jesus Cristo, nosso Salvador.
7 that by his grace we might be justified, and be made heirs according to the hope of the life which is eternal.
7 Ele o fez a fim de que, justificados por sua graça, nos tornemos seus herdeiros, tendo a esperança da vida eterna.
8 Faithful is the word; and in this I will that thou also establish them, that they should be careful to perform good works, they who have believed in Aloha. These are good and profitable unto men.
8 Fiel é esta palavra, e quero que você afirme categoricamente essas coisas, para que os que crêem em Deus se empenhem na prática de boas obras. Tais coisas são excelentes e úteis aos homens.
9 But from foolish disputations, and from tales of genealogies, and from contentions, and strifes of the sophree, withdraw; for profit is not in them, and they are vain.
9 Evite, porém, controvérsias tolas, genealogias, discussões e contendas a respeito da lei, porque essas coisas são inúteis e sem valor.
10 From an heretical man, after one time and twice thou hast admonished him, withdraw;
10 Quanto àquele que provoca divisões, advirta-o uma e duas vezes. Depois disso, rejeite-o.
11 and know that he who is such is perverse, and sinneth, and condemneth himself.
11 Você sabe que tal pessoa se perverteu e está em pecado; por si mesma está condenada.
12 When I have sent to thee Artema, or Tykikos, be careful to come to me at Nikopolis; for there I have determined in my mind to winter.
12 Quando eu lhe enviar Ártemas ou Tíquico, faça o possível para vir ao meu encontro em Nicópolis, pois decidi passar o inverno ali.
13 But concerning Zina the sophra, and Apolo, be careful to provide them well, that nothing may be wanting to them.
13 Providencie tudo o que for necessário para a viagem de Zenas, o jurista, e de Apolo, de modo que nada lhes falte.
14 And let those also who are of us, learn to perform good works in things which are necessary, that they may not be without fruits.
14 Quanto aos nossos, que aprendam a dedicar-se à prática de boas obras, a fim de que supram as necessidades diárias e não sejam improdutivos.
15 All they who are with me ask for thy peace. Ask for the peace of all who love us in the faith. Grace be with all of you. Amen.
15 Todos os que estão comigo lhe enviam saudações. Saudações àqueles que nos amam na fé. A graça seja com todos vocês.
