1 AFTER these Jeshu went over the Sea of Galila of Tiberios,
1 Depois disso, Jesus atravessou o mar da Galileia, conhecido também como mar de Tiberíades.
2 and great multitudes went after him, because they had seen the signs which he wrought on the diseased.
2 Uma grande multidão o seguia por toda parte, pois tinham visto os sinais que ele havia realizado ao curar os enfermos.
3 And Jeshu ascended a mountain, and there sat with his disciples.
3 Então Jesus subiu a um monte e sentou-se com seus discípulos.
4 Now the feast of the petscha of the Jihudoyee drew nigh.
4 Era quase tempo da festa judaica da Páscoa.
5 And Jeshu lifted up his eyes, and saw the great assembly which had come to him; and he said to Philipos, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat?
5 Jesus logo viu uma grande multidão que vinha a seu encontro. Voltando-se para Filipe, perguntou: “Onde podemos comprar pão para alimentar toda essa gente?”.
6 But this he said trying him; for he knew what he was about to do.
6 Disse isso para pôr Filipe à prova, pois já sabia o que ia fazer.
7 Philipos saith to him, Two hundred dinoreen of bread is not sufficient for them, that a little every one of them may take.
7 Filipe respondeu: “Mesmo que trabalhássemos vários meses, não teríamos dinheiro suficiente para dar alimento a todos!”.
8 Saith to him one of his disciples, Andreas, brother of Shemun Kipha,
8 Então um de seus discípulos, André, irmão de Simão Pedro, falou:
9 There is here a certain youth, who hath with him five cakes of barley and two fishes; but these what are they for these all?
9 “Aqui está um rapaz com cinco pães de cevada e dois peixes. Mas que adianta isso para tanta gente?”.
10 Jeshu saith to them, Make all the men recline; for there was much herbage in that place. And the men reclined, in number five thousand.
10 Jesus respondeu: “Digam ao povo que se sente”. Todos se sentaram na grama que cobria o monte. Só os homens eram cerca de cinco mil.
11 And Jeshu took the bread, and blessed, and divided unto those who reclined, and likewise also of the fishes, as much as they willed.
11 Então Jesus tomou os pães, agradeceu a Deus e os repartiu entre o povo. Em seguida, fez o mesmo com os peixes. E todos comeram à vontade.
12 And when they were satisfied, he said to his disciples, Gather the fragments that abound, that nothing be lost;
12 Depois que todos estavam satisfeitos, Jesus disse a seus discípulos: “Agora juntem os pedaços que sobraram, para que nada se desperdice”.
13 and they gathered and filled twelve baskets of fragments, those which abounded unto them who had eaten of the five loaves of barley.
13 Eles juntaram o que restou e encheram doze cestos com as sobras.
14 But those men, when they had seen the sign which Jeshu had wrought, said, Truly this is the Prophet that cometh into the world.
14 Quando o povo viu Jesus fazer esse sinal, exclamou: “Sem dúvida ele é o profeta que haveria de vir ao mundo!”.
15 But when Jeshu knew that they were about to come to seize him and make him the King, he passed away to a mountain alone.
15 Jesus sabia que pretendiam obrigá-lo a ser rei deles, de modo que se retirou, sozinho, para o monte.
16 AND when it was eventide, his disciples went down to the sea.
16 Ao entardecer, os discípulos de Jesus desceram à praia,
17 And they sat in a vessel, and went over for Kapher-nachum. And it was dark, and Jeshu had not come to them.
17 entraram no barco e atravessaram o mar em direção a Cafarnaum. Quando escureceu, porém, Jesus ainda não tinha vindo se encontrar com eles.
18 But the sea had risen against them, because a great wind blew.
18 Logo, um vento forte veio sobre eles, e o mar ficou muito agitado.
19 And they had led stadia twentyfive or thirty, and they saw Jeshu walking upon the sea, and drawing nigh to the vessel; and they feared.
19 Depois de remarem cinco ou seis quilômetros, de repente viram Jesus caminhando sobre o mar, em direção ao barco. Ficaram aterrorizados,
20 But Jeshu himself said to them, I am, fear not.
20 mas ele lhes disse: “Sou eu! Não tenham medo”.
21 And they willed to receive him into the vessel, and soon that vessel was at that land to which they were going.
21 Eles o receberam no barco e, logo em seguida, chegaram a seu destino.
22 The day after the people that stood on the opposite shore of the sea saw that there was not another vessel there except that into which the disciples had ascended, and that Jeshu had not entered with his disciples into the vessel;
22 No dia seguinte, a multidão que tinha ficado do outro lado do mar viu que os discípulos haviam pegado o único barco dali e que Jesus não fora com eles.
23 but there came other boats from Tiberios near the place, where they did eat bread when Jeshu had blessed.
23 Alguns barcos de Tiberíades se aproximaram do lugar onde o povo tinha comido os pães depois que o Senhor os abençoou.
24 And when that company saw that Jeshu was not there nor his disciples, they ascended into those boats, and came to Kapher-nachum. And they sought Jeshu;
24 Quando a multidão viu que nem Jesus nem os discípulos estavam ali, todos entraram nos barcos e atravessaram para Cafarnaum, a fim de procurá-lo.
25 and when they had found him on the opposite side of the sea, they say to him, Raban, when camest thou hither?
25 Encontraram-no do outro lado do mar e lhe perguntaram: “Rabi, quando o senhor chegou aqui?”.
26 Jeshu answered and said to them, Amen, amen, I tell you, You seek me, not because you considered the signs, but because you did eat the bread, and were satisfied.
26 Jesus respondeu: “Eu lhes digo a verdade: vocês querem estar comigo não porque entenderam os sinais, mas porque lhes dei alimento.
27 Work not (for) the food which perisheth, but (for) the food that endureth unto the life that is eternal, which the Son of man shall give to you: for this hath the Father sealed, (even) Aloha.
27 Não se preocupem tanto com coisas que se estragam, como a comida, mas usem suas energias buscando o alimento que permanece para a vida eterna, o qual o Filho do Homem pode lhes dar. Pois Deus, o Pai, colocou em mim seu selo de aprovação”.
28 They say to him, What shall we do that we may work the works of Aloha?
28 “Nós também queremos realizar as obras de Deus”, disseram eles. “O que devemos fazer?”
29 Jeshu answered and said to them, This is the work of Aloha, that you believe in Him whom he hath sent.
29 Jesus lhes disse: “Esta é a única obra que Deus quer de vocês: creiam naquele que ele enviou”.
30 THEY say to him, What sign doest thou that we may see, and believe in thee? What performest thou?
30 Eles responderam: “Se deseja que creiamos no senhor, mostre-nos um sinal. O que o senhor pode fazer?
31 Our fathers manna did eat in the desert, as it is written, that bread from heaven be gave them to eat.
31 Afinal, nossos antepassados comeram maná no deserto! As Escrituras dizem: ‘Moisés lhes deu de comer pão do céu’”.
32 Jeshu saith to them, Amen, amen, I tell you, That Musha gave you not that bread from heaven, but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven:
32 Jesus disse: “Eu lhes digo a verdade: não foi Moisés quem lhes deu pão do céu. É meu Pai quem dá o verdadeiro pão do céu a vocês.
33 for the bread of Aloha is He who hath descended from heaven, and giveth life to the world.
33 O verdadeiro pão de Deus é aquele que desce do céu e dá vida ao mundo”.
34 They say to him, Our Lord, at all time give us this bread.
34 “Senhor, dê-nos desse pão todos os dias”, disseram eles.
35 Jeshu saith to them, I am the bread of life: he who cometh to me shall not hunger, and he who believeth in me shall not thirst, for ever.
35 Jesus respondeu: “Eu sou o pão da vida. Quem vem a mim nunca mais terá fome. Quem crê em mim nunca mais terá sede.
36 But I have told you that you have seen me, and have not believed.
36 Mas vocês não creram em mim, embora me tenham visto.
37 Every one whom the Father hath given me, unto me will come; and him who unto me shall come, I will not cast out.
37 Contudo, aqueles que o Pai me dá virão a mim, e eu jamais os rejeitarei.
38 I descended from heaven not to do mine own will, but the will of Him who sent me.
38 Pois desci do céu para fazer a vontade daquele que me enviou, e não minha própria vontade.
39 But this is the will of my Father who sent me, that of all whom he hath given me I shall lose not of him, but shall raise him at the last day.
39 E esta é a vontade de Deus: que eu não perca um sequer de todos que ele me deu, mas que ressuscite todos no último dia.
40 For this is the will of my Father, that every one who seeth the Son and believeth on him, shall have the life that is eternal, and I will raise him at the last day.
40 Pois é a vontade de meu Pai que todo aquele que olhar para o Filho e nele crer tenha a vida eterna, e eu o ressuscitarei no último dia”.
41 But the Jihudoyee murmured against him because he said, I am the bread which hath descended from heaven.
41 Então os judeus começaram a criticá-lo, pois ele havia afirmado: “Eu sou o pão que desceu do céu”.
42 And they said, Is not this Jeshu bar Jauseph, he whose father and mother we know? and how saith this, From heaven I have descended?
42 Diziam: “Este não é Jesus, filho de José? Conhecemos seu pai e sua mãe. Como ele pode dizer: ‘Desci do céu?’”.
43 Jeshu answered and said to them, Murmur not one with another.
43 Jesus, porém, respondeu: “Parem de me criticar.
44 No man can come to me unless the Father who sent me shall attract him, and I will raise him at the last day.
44 Pois ninguém pode vir a mim se o Pai, que me enviou, não o trouxer a mim; e no último dia eu o ressuscitarei.
45 It is written in the prophet, that they shall be all taught of Aloha: every one, therefore, who hath heard from the Father and learned of him, cometh unto me.
45 Como dizem as Escrituras: ‘Todos eles serão ensinados por Deus’. Todo aquele que ouve o Pai e aprende dele vem a mim.
46 There is no man who hath seen the Father, but he who is from Aloha, he hath seen the Father.
46 Não que alguém tenha visto o Pai; somente eu, que fui enviado por Deus, o vi.
47 AMEN, amen, I say to you, Whosoever believeth in me hath the life which is eternal.
47 “Eu lhes digo a verdade: quem crê tem a vida eterna.
48 I am the bread of life.
48 Sim, eu sou o pão da vida!
49 Your fathers did eat manna in the desert, and are dead:
49 Seus antepassados comeram maná no deserto, mas morreram;
50 but this is the bread which hath descended from heaven, that man may eat of it, and die not.
50 quem comer o pão do céu, no entanto, jamais morrerá.
51 I am the bread of life that from heaven hath descended; and if man shall eat of this bread, he shall live for ever; and the bread that I will give is my body, which for the life of the world I give.
51 Eu sou o pão vivo que desceu do céu. Quem comer deste pão viverá para sempre; e este pão, que eu oferecerei para que o mundo viva, é a minha carne”.
52 The Jihudoyee contended one with another, saying, How can this his body give to us to eat?
52 Então os judeus começaram a discutir entre si a respeito do que ele queria dizer. “Como pode esse homem nos dar sua carne para comer?”, perguntavam.
53 And Jeshu said to them, Amen, amen, I tell you, That unless you eat the body of the Son of man, and drink his blood, you have no life in yourselves.
53 Então Jesus disse novamente: “Eu lhes digo a verdade: se vocês não comerem a carne do Filho do Homem e não beberem o seu sangue, não terão a vida em si mesmos.
54 He who eateth of my body, and drinketh of my blood, hath the life which is eternal, and I will raise him at the last day.
54 Mas quem come minha carne e bebe meu sangue terá a vida eterna, e eu o ressuscitarei no último dia.
55 For my body is truly food, and my blood is truly drink.
55 Pois minha carne é a verdadeira comida, e meu sangue é a verdadeira bebida.
56 He who eateth my body, and drinketh my blood, abideth in me, and I in him.
56 Quem come minha carne e bebe meu sangue permanece em mim, e eu nele.
57 As the Father the Living (one) who hath sent me, and I live by the Father, even so he who shall eat me, shall live, too, by me.
57 Eu vivo por causa do Pai, que vive e me enviou; da mesma forma, quem se alimenta de mim viverá por minha causa.
58 This is the bread which hath descended from heaven. Not as was the manna that your fathers ate, and are dead; he who eateth of this bread shall live for ever.
58 Eu sou o verdadeiro pão que desceu do céu. Seus antepassados comeram maná e morreram; quem comer este pão não morrerá, mas viverá para sempre”.
59 These things he spake in the synagogue, as he taught in Kapher-nachum.
59 Ele disse essas coisas quando ensinava na sinagoga de Cafarnaum.
60 And many of his disciples who heard said, A hard word is this: who can hear it?
60 Muitos de seus discípulos disseram: “Sua mensagem é dura. Quem é capaz de aceitá-la?”.
61 BUT Jeshu knew in himself that his disciples murmured concerning this; and he said to them, Does this stumble you?
61 Jesus, sabendo que seus discípulos reclamavam, disse: “Isso os ofende?
62 If you shall see then the Son of man ascend up to the place where he was from the first?
62 Então o que pensarão se virem o Filho do Homem subir ao céu, onde estava antes?
63 It is the Spirit that maketh alive, the body profiteth nothing: the words which I have spoken to you, they are spirit and they are life.
63 Somente o Espírito dá vida. A natureza humana não realiza coisa alguma. E as palavras que eu lhes disse são espírito e vida.
64 But there are some of you who do not believe. For Jeshu knew from the first who they were who believed not, and who it was who would betray him.
64 Mas alguns de vocês não creem em mim”. Pois Jesus sabia, desde o princípio, quem não acreditava nele e quem iria traí-lo.
65 And he said to them, On account of this I told you that no man can come to me, unless it be given him of my Father.
65 E acrescentou: “Por isso eu disse que ninguém pode vir a mim a menos que o Pai o dê a mim”.
66 On account of this word many of his disciples went back, and walked not with him.
66 Nesse momento, muitos de seus discípulos se afastaram dele e o abandonaram.
67 Jeshu said to the twelve, Do you also will to go?
67 Então Jesus se voltou para os Doze e perguntou: “Vocês também vão embora?”.
68 Shemun Kipha answered and said, My Lord, unto whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life;
68 Simão Pedro respondeu: “Senhor, para quem iremos? O senhor tem as palavras da vida eterna.
69 and we believe and know that thou art the Meshicha, the Son of Aloha the Living.
69 Nós cremos e sabemos que o senhor é o Santo de Deus”.
70 Jeshu saith to them, Have I not chosen you twelve, and from you one is Satana?
70 Então Jesus disse: “Eu escolhi vocês doze, mas um de vocês é um diabo”.
71 He spake concerning Jihuda bar Shemun Scarjuta; for he it was who would betray him, one from the twelve.
71 Ele se referia a Judas, filho de Simão Iscariotes, um dos Doze, que mais tarde o trairia.
