1 And as helpers, we beseech of you that the grace of Aloha which you have received be not made ineffectual in you.
1 E nós, na qualidade de cooperadores com ele, também vos exortamos a que não recebais em vão a graça de Deus
2 For he hath said, In the time acceptable I have heard thee, And in the day of salvation I have helped thee. Behold, Now is the time acceptable; behold, Now is the day of salvation.
2 (porque ele diz: Eu te ouvi no tempo da oportunidade e te socorri no dia da salvação; eis, agora, o tempo sobremodo oportuno, eis, agora, o dia da salvação);
3 Nor in any thing give to any man occasion of stumbling, that no blemish may be upon our ministry;
3 não dando nós nenhum motivo de escândalo em coisa alguma, para que o ministério não seja censurado.
4 but in every thing will we demonstrate ourselves that we are the ministers of Aloha; by much patience, by afflictions, by necessity, by imprisonments,
4 Pelo contrário, em tudo recomendando-nos a nós mesmos como ministros de Deus: na muita paciência, nas aflições, nas privações, nas angústias,
5 by stripes, by chains, by tumults, by labour, by watching, by fasting,
5 nos açoites, nas prisões, nos tumultos, nos trabalhos, nas vigílias, nos jejuns,
6 by purity, by knowledge, by prolonging the mind, by benignity, by the Spirit of Holiness, by love without deceit,
6 na pureza, no saber, na longanimidade, na bondade, no Espírito Santo, no amor não fingido,
7 by the doctrine of truth, by the power of Aloha, by the arms of righteousness for the right hand and for the left,
7 na palavra da verdade, no poder de Deus, pelas armas da justiça, quer ofensivas, quer defensivas;
8 by glory and by shame, by praise and by abuse; as deceivers, and true;
8 por honra e por desonra, por infâmia e por boa fama, como enganadores e sendo verdadeiros;
9 as unknown, and yet we are known; as dead, yet, lo, we live; as chastened, yet we die not;
9 como desconhecidos e, entretanto, bem-conhecidos; como se estivéssemos morrendo e, contudo, eis que vivemos; como castigados, porém não mortos;
10 as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet many making rich; as having nothing, yet possessing every thing.
10 entristecidos, mas sempre alegres; pobres, mas enriquecendo a muitos; nada tendo, mas possuindo tudo.
11 OUR mouth is opened to you, Kurinthoyee, and our heart expanded.
11 Para vós outros, ó coríntios, abrem-se os nossos lábios, e alarga-se o nosso coração.
12 You are not constrained in us, but you are constrained in your own bowels.
12 Não tendes limites em nós; mas estais limitados em vossos próprios afetos.
13 But as unto (my) children, I say to you, Render to me my gains which are with you, and expand your love towards me.
13 Ora, como justa retribuição (falo-vos como a filhos), dilatai-vos também vós.
14 And be not sons of the yoke with them who believe not. For what participation hath righteousness with iniquity? Or what commixture hath the light with darkness?
14 Não vos ponhais em jugo desigual com os incrédulos; porquanto que sociedade pode haver entre a justiça e a iniquidade? Ou que comunhão, da luz com as trevas?
15 Or what concord hath the Meshiha with Satana? Or what portion hath the believer with the unbeliever?
15 Que harmonia, entre Cristo e o Maligno? Ou que união, do crente com o incrédulo?
16 Or what union hath the temple of Aloha with (that) of demons? For you are the temple of Aloha the living; as it is written, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; And I will be their God, And they shall be to me a people.
16 Que ligação há entre o santuário de Deus e os ídolos? Porque nós somos santuário do Deus vivente, como ele próprio disse: Habitarei e andarei entre eles; serei o seu Deus, e eles serão o meu povo.
17 Wherefore come out from among them, And be separate from them, (saith the Lord,) And the impure touch not; And I will receive you,
17 Por isso, retirai-vos do meio deles, separai-vos, diz o Senhor; não toqueis em coisas impuras; e eu vos receberei,
18 And I will be to you a Father, And you shall be to me for sons and daughters, Saith the Lord, who holdeth all.
18 serei vosso Pai, e vós sereis para mim filhos e filhas, diz o Senhor Todo-Poderoso.
