1 BUT I entreat of the presbyters who are among you, I, a presbyter, your companion, and a witness of the sufferings of the Meshiha, and a partaker of his glory that is to be revealed;
1 Aos presbíteros que há entre vocês, eu, presbítero como eles, testemunha dos sofrimentos de Cristo e, ainda, coparticipante da glória que há de ser revelada, peço
2 feed the flock of Aloha which is delivered to you, and take care (of it) spiritually, not by constraint, but with the will; not for corrupt gain, but with all your heart;
2 que pastoreiem o rebanho de Deus que há entre vocês, não por obrigação, mas espontaneamente, como Deus quer; não por ganância, mas de boa vontade;
3 not as lords of the flock, but that you may be to them a goodly example;
3 não como dominadores dos que lhes foram confiados, mas sendo exemplos para o rebanho.
4 that when the Chief of pastors shall be revealed, you may receive from him a crown of glory which fadeth not.
4 E, quando o Supremo Pastor se manifestar, vocês receberão a coroa da glória, que nunca perde o seu brilho.
5 And you younger, be subject to your presbyters, and be clothed carefully with humility of mind towards one another; because Aloha is against those who exalt themselves, and to the humble he giveth grace.
5 Peço igualmente aos jovens: estejam sujeitos aos que são mais velhos. Que todos se revistam de humildade no trato de uns com os outros, porque “Deus resiste aos soberbos, mas dá graça aos humildes.”
6 Be humbled, therefore, under the mighty hand of Aloha, that he may exalt you at the right time.
6 Portanto, humilhem-se debaixo da poderosa mão de Deus, para que ele, em tempo oportuno, os exalte.
7 And all your anxiety cast upon Aloha, because he is careful over you.
7 Lancem sobre ele todas as suas ansiedades, porque ele cuida de vocês.
8 Watch, and be mindful, because your adversary Satana, as a lion, roareth and walketh and seeketh whom he may devour.
8 Sejam sóbrios e vigilantes. O inimigo de vocês, o diabo, anda em derredor, como leão que ruge procurando alguém para devorar.
9 Withstand him then, being confirmed in the faith; and know that upon your brethren also who are in the world, these same sufferings come.
9 Resistam-lhe, firmes na fé, certos de que os irmãos de vocês, espalhados pelo mundo, estão passando por sofrimentos iguais aos de vocês.
10 But the God of grace, who hath called us to his eternal glory by Jeshu Meshiha, will give to us while we endure these few afflictions to be strengthened, and confirmed, and established in him for ever.
10 E o Deus de toda a graça, que em Cristo os chamou à sua eterna glória, depois de vocês terem sofrido por um pouco, ele mesmo irá aperfeiçoar, firmar, fortificar e fundamentar vocês.
11 To Him be glory and dominion and honour unto the age of ages. Amen.
11 A ele seja o domínio para sempre. Amém!
12 These few, as I consider, I have written to you by the hands of Silvanos, a faithful brother; and I persuade and testify, that this is the true grace of Aloha, this wherein you stand.
12 Por meio de Silvano, que considero um irmão fiel, escrevo para vocês de forma resumida, exortando e testemunhando que esta é a genuína graça de Deus. Continuem firmes nessa graça.
13 The elect church which is in Babel, asketh for your peace, and Markos my son.
13 Aquela que se encontra na Babilônia, também eleita, manda saudações, e o mesmo faz o meu filho Marcos.
14 Salute one another with the holy kiss. Peace be with all of you who are in the Meshiha. Amen.
14 Saúdem uns aos outros com um beijo fraterno. Paz a todos vocês que estão em Cristo.
