1 Forsooth these be the generations of Esau; he is (also called) Edom.
1 E estas são as gerações de Esaú ( que é Edom).
2 Esau took wives of the daughters of Canaan; Adah, the daughter of Elon (the) Hittite, and Oholibamah (or and Aholibamah), the daughter of Anah, the son of Zibeon (the) Hivite;
2 Esaú tomou suas mulheres das filhas de Canaã: Ada, filha de Elom, heteu; Oolibama, filha de Aná, filho de Zibeão, heveu;
3 also Bashemath (or and Bashemath), the daughter of Ishmael, the sister of Nebajoth.
3 e Basemate, filha de Ismael, irmã de Nebaiote.
4 And Adah childed Eliphaz; Bashemath childed Reuel;
4 E Ada teve de Esaú a Elifaz; e Basemate teve a Reuel;
5 Oholibamah childed Jeush, and Jaalam, and Korah, (or and Aholibamah gave birth to Jeush, and Jaalam, and Korah). These were the sons of Esau, that were born to him in the land of Canaan.
5 e Oolibama teve a Jeús, e Jalão, e Corá; estes são os filhos de Esaú, que lhe nasceram na terra de Canaã.
6 Soothly Esau took his wives, and his sons, and (his) daughters, and each soul of his house(hold), and his cattle, and (his) sheep, and all things which he had in the land of Canaan, and went into another country (or and went to another country), and (so) departed from his brother Jacob;
6 E Esaú tomou suas mulheres, e seus filhos, e suas filhas, e todas as almas de sua casa, e seu gado, e todos os seus animais, e toda a sua fazenda, que havia adquirido na terra de Canaã; e foi-se a outra terra de diante da face de Jacó, seu irmão.
7 for they were full rich, and they might not dwell together, and the land of their pilgrimage sustained not them, for the multitude of flocks. (for they were both very rich, and they could not live together, for the land where they now were could not sustain them both, for the multitude of their flocks.)
7 Porque a fazenda deles era muita para habitarem juntos; e a terra de suas peregrinações não os podia sustentar por causa de seu gado.
8 And Esau dwelled in the hill of Seir; he is Edom. (And so Esau lived in the hill country of Seir; he is also called Edom.)
8 Portanto, Esaú habitou na montanha de Seir; Esaú é Edom.
9 Forsooth these were the generations of Esau, father of Edom, in the hill of Seir, (And these were the descendants of Esau, the father of the Edomites, in the hill country of Seir,)
9 Estas, pois, são as gerações de Esaú, pai dos edomitas, na montanha de Seir.
10 and these were the names of his sons; Eliphaz, the son of Adah, (the) wife of Esau, also Reuel (or and Reuel), the son of Bashemath, (the) wife of Esau.
10 Estes são os nomes dos filhos de Esaú: Elifaz, filho de Ada, mulher de Esaú; Reuel, filho de Basemate, mulher de Esaú.
11 And the sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, and Gatam, and Kenaz.
11 E os filhos de Elifaz foram: Temã, Omar, Zefô, Gaetã e Quenaz.
12 Forsooth Timna was the secondary wife of Eliphaz, Esau(’s) son, which Timna childed to him Amalek, (or And Timna was the concubine of Eliphaz, Esau’s son, and \+em Timna\+em* bare Amalek for him). These were the sons of Adah, Esau’s wife.
12 E Timna era concubina de Elifaz, filho de Esaú, e teve de Elifaz a Amaleque; estes são os filhos de Ada, mulher de Esaú.
13 Forsooth the sons of Reuel were Nahath, and Zerah, and Shammah, and Mizzah. These were the sons of Bashemath, Esau’s wife.
13 E estes foram os filhos de Reuel: Naate, Zerá, Samá e Mizá; estes foram os filhos de Basemate, mulher de Esaú.
14 And these were the sons of Oholibamah, the daughter of Anah, son of Zibeon, Esau’s wife, which she childed to him; Jeush, and Jaalam, and Korah. (And these were the sons of Esau’s wife Aholibamah, the daughter of Anah, the daughter of Zibeon, whom she bare for him; Jeush, and Jaalam, and Korah.)
14 E estes foram os filhos de Oolibama, filha de Aná, filho de Zibeão, mulher de Esaú; e deu a Esaú: Jeús, Jalão e Corá.
15 These were (the) dukes of the sons of Esau; the sons of Eliphaz, the first engendered of Esau (or Esau’s first-born son); duke Teman, duke Omar, duke Zepho, duke Kenaz,
15 Estes são os príncipes dos filhos de Esaú; os filhos de Elifaz, o primogênito de Esaú, foram: o príncipe Temã, o príncipe Omar, o príncipe Zefô, o príncipe Quenaz,
16 duke Korah, duke Gatam, and duke Amalek. These were the sons of Eliphaz, in the land of Edom, and these were the sons of Adah.
16 o príncipe Corá, o príncipe Gaetã, o príncipe Amaleque; estes são os príncipes de Elifaz, na terra de Edom; estes são os filhos de Ada.
17 Also these were the sons of Reuel, Esau’s son; duke Nahath, duke Zerah, duke Shammah, duke Mizzah; forsooth these dukes were of Reuel, in the land of Edom. These were the sons of Bashemath, Esau’s wife. (And these were the sons of Reuel, Esau’s son; duke Nahath, duke Zerah, duke Shammah, and duke Mizzah; these were the leaders who came from Reuel, in the land of Edom. These were the sons of Esau’s wife Bashemath.)
17 E estes são os filhos de Reuel, filho de Esaú: o príncipe Naate, o príncipe Zerá, o príncipe Samá, o príncipe Mizá; estes são os príncipes de Reuel, na terra de Edom; estes são os filhos de Basemate, mulher de Esaú.
18 Forsooth these were the sons of Oholibamah, Esau’s wife; duke Jeush, duke Jaalam, duke Korah; these were [the] dukes of Oholibamah, the daughter of Anah, Esau’s wife. (And these were the sons of Esau’s wife Aholibamah; duke Jeush, duke Jaalam, and duke Korah; these were the leaders who came from Esau’s wife Aholibamah, the daughter of Anah.)
18 E estes são os filhos de Oolibama, mulher de Esaú: o príncipe Jeús, o príncipe Jalão, o príncipe Corá; estes são os príncipes de Oolibama, filha de Aná e mulher de Esaú.
19 These were the sons of Esau, and these were dukes of them (or and they were their leaders); he is (also called) Edom.
19 Estes são os filhos de Esaú, e estes são seus príncipes; ele é Edom.
20 (And) These were the sons of Seir (the) Horite, inhabiters of the land (or the people of the land); Lotan, and Shobal, and Zibeon, and Anah,
20 Estes são os filhos de Seir, horeu, moradores daquela terra: Lotã, Sobal, Zibeão, Aná,
21 and Dishon, and Ezer, and Dishan; these dukes were of Horites (or these were the leaders of the Horites), the son[s] of Seir, in the land of Edom.
21 Disom, Eser e Disã; estes são os príncipes dos horeus, filhos de Seir, na terra de Edom.
22 Forsooth the sons of Lotan were Hori, and Hemam; soothly the sister of Lotan was Timna.
22 E os filhos de Lotã foram: Hori e Homã; e a irmã de Lotã era Timna.
23 And these were the sons of Shobal; Alvan, and Manahath, and Ebal, Shepho, and Onam.
23 Estes são os filhos de Sobal: Alvã, Manaate, Ebal, Sefô e Onã.
24 And these were the sons of Zibeon; Ajah, and Anah; this is Ahan that found hot waters in the wilderness, when he kept the asses of Zibeon, his father, (or this is that Ahan who found some mules in the wilderness, when he kept the donkeys of his father Zibeon);
24 E estes são os filhos de Zibeão: Aiá e Aná; este é o Aná que achou as caldas no deserto, quando apascentava os jumentos de Zibeão, seu pai.
25 and he had a son, Dishon, and a daughter, Oholibamah. (and Anah had a son, Dishon, and a daughter, Aholibamah.)
25 E estes são os filhos de Aná: Disom e Oolibama, a filha de Aná.
26 And these were the sons of Dishon; Hemdan, and Eshban, and Ithran, and Cheran.
26 E estes são os filhos de Disom: Hendã, Esbã, Itrã e Querã.
27 Also these were the sons of Ezer (or And these were the sons of Ezer); Bilhan, and Zaavan, and Akan.
27 Estes são os filhos de Eser: Bilã, Zaavã e Acã.
28 And Dishon had sons; Uz, and Aran.
28 Estes são os filhos de Disã: Uz e Arã.
29 These were the dukes of Horites (or These were the leaders of the Horites); duke Lotan, duke Shobal, duke Zibeon, duke Anah,
29 Estes são os príncipes dos horeus: o príncipe Lotã, o príncipe Sobal, o príncipe Zibeão, o príncipe Aná,
30 duke Dishon, duke Ezer, duke Dishan; these were the dukes of Horites, that were lords in the land of Seir. (duke Dishon, duke Ezer, and duke Dishan; these were the leaders of the Horites, who were the rulers in the land of Seir.)
30 o príncipe Disom, o príncipe Eser, o príncipe Disã; estes são os príncipes dos horeus, segundo seus príncipes, na terra de Seir.
31 Forsooth [the] kings that reigned in the land of Edom, before that the sons of Israel had a king, were these; (And the kings who reigned in the land of Edom, before the Israelites had their own king, were these;)
31 E estes são os reis que reinaram na terra de Edom, antes que reinasse rei algum sobre os filhos de Israel.
32 Bela, the son of Beor, and the name of his city was Dinhabah.
32 Reinou, pois, em Edom Belá, filho de Beor, e o nome da sua cidade foi Dinabá.
33 Forsooth Bela died, and (then) Jobab, the son of Zerah of Bozrah, reigned for him.
33 E morreu Belá; e Jobabe, filho de Zerá, de Bozra, reinou em seu lugar.
34 And when Jobab was dead (or And when Jobab died), Husham of the land of Temani reigned for him.
34 E morreu Jobabe; e Husão, da terra dos temanitas, reinou em seu lugar.
35 And when he was dead, Hadad, the son of Bedad, that smote Midian in the land of Moab, and the name of his city was Avith, reigned for him. (And when Husham died, Hadad, the son of Bedad, who struck down the Midianites in the land of Moab, reigned for him, and the name of his city was Avith.)
35 E morreu Husão, e em seu lugar reinou Hadade, filho de Bedade, o que feriu a Midiã no campo de Moabe; e o nome da sua cidade foi Avite.
36 And when Hadad was dead (or And when Hadad died), Samlah of Masrekah reigned for him.
36 E morreu Hadade; e Samlá, de Masreca, reinou em seu lugar.
37 And when he was dead, Saul of the flood [of] Rehoboth reigned for him. (And when Samlah died, Saul from Rehoboth-on-the-River reigned for him.)
37 E morreu Samlá; e Saul, de Reobote do rio, reinou em seu lugar.
38 And when he was dead, Baalhanan, the son of Achbor, was successor into the realm. (And when Saul died, Baalhanan, the son of Achbor, was his successor in the kingdom.)
38 E morreu Saul; e Baal-Hanã, filho de Acbor, reinou em seu lugar.
39 And when he was dead (or And when Baalhanan died), Hadar reigned for him, and the name of the city of Hadar was Pau, and the name of his wife was Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Mezahab.
39 E morreu Baal-Hanã, filho de Acbor; e Hadar reinou em seu lugar; o nome da sua cidade foi Paú; e o nome de sua mulher foi Meetabel, filha de Matrede, filha de Me-Zaabe.
40 Therefore these were the names of the dukes of Esau (or And so these were the names of the leaders of the people of Esau), in their kindreds, and places, and (by their) names; duke Timnah, duke Alvah, duke Jetheth,
40 E estes são os nomes dos príncipes de Esaú, segundo as suas gerações, segundo os seus lugares, pelos seus nomes: o príncipe Timna, o príncipe Alva, o príncipe Jetete,
41 duke Oholibamah (or duke Aholibamah), duke Elah, duke Pinon,
