1 And we know, that if our earthly house of this dwelling be dissolved, that we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, everlasting in (the) heavens (or eternal in heaven).
1 De fato, nós sabemos que, quando for destruída esta barraca em que vivemos, que é o nosso corpo aqui na terra, Deus nos dará, para morarmos nela, uma casa no céu. Essa casa não foi feita por mãos humanas; foi Deus quem a fez, e ela durará para sempre.
2 For why in this thing we mourn, coveting to be clothed above with our dwelling, which is of heaven (or which is from heaven);
2 Por isso gememos enquanto vivemos nesta casa de agora, pois gostaríamos de nos mudarmos já para a nossa nova casa no céu. Aquela casa será o nosso corpo celestial,
3 if nevertheless we be found clothed, and not naked.
3 e, quando nos vestirmos com ele, não ficaremos sem corpo.
4 For why we that be in this tabernacle, sorrow within, and be heavied [or be grieved], for that we will not be (de)spoiled, but be clothed above; that that thing that is deadly, be sopped up of life, (or that that is mortal, shall be swallowed up by life or into eternal life).
4 Gememos aflitos enquanto vivemos nesta barraca, que é o nosso corpo. Isso não é porque queiramos ficar livres do nosso corpo terreno; o que desejamos é receber o corpo celestial para que a vida faça com que o que é mortal desapareça.
5 But who is it that maketh us into this same thing? God, that gave to us the earnest, either(the)wed, of the Spirit, (or God, who gave us the pledge, or the guarantee, of it, by the Spirit). [Forsooth he that maketh us into this same thing, is God, that gave to us the earnest, or a wed, of \+sls (the)\+sls* Spirit.]
5 E foi Deus quem nos preparou para essa mudança e nos deu o seu Espírito como garantia de tudo o que ele tem para nos dar.
6 Therefore we be hardy always (or And so we shall always be bold), and know that the while we be in this body, we go in pilgrimage from the Lord;
6 Estamos sempre muito animados, pois sabemos que, enquanto vivemos neste corpo, estamos longe do lar do Senhor.
7 for we walk by faith, and not by clear sight.
7 Porque vivemos pela fé e não pelo que vemos.
8 But we be hardy, and have good will, more to be in pilgrimage from the body, and to be present to God. (But we be bold, and be willing, rather to be in pilgrimage from the body, and to be present with God.)
8 Estamos muito animados e gostaríamos de deixar de viver neste corpo para irmos viver com o Senhor.
9 And therefore we strive, whether absent, whether present, to please him.
9 Porém, acima de tudo, o que nós queremos é agradar o Senhor, seja vivendo no nosso corpo aqui, seja vivendo lá com o Senhor.
10 For it behooveth us all to be showed before the throne of Christ, that every man tell [or receive] the proper things of the body, as he hath done, either good, either evil. (For it behooveth us all to be shown before the throne of the Messiah, so that every man receive his due, or that which he deserveth, because of what he hath done in the body, either good, or evil.)
10 Porque todos nós temos de nos apresentar diante de Cristo para sermos julgados por ele. E cada um vai receber o que merece, de acordo com o que fez de bom ou de mau na sua vida aqui na terra.
11 Therefore we witting the dread of the Lord, (or And so we knowing the fear of the Lord, or And so we having reverence for the Lord), counsel men, for to God we be open; and I hope, that we be open also in your consciences.
11 Sabemos o que quer dizer temer o Senhor e por isso procuramos levar as pessoas à verdade. Deus nos conhece completamente, e espero que no seu coração vocês me conheçam também.
12 We commend not us-selves again to you, but we give to you occasion to have glory for us, (so) that ye have [understanding] to them (or of them) that glory in the face, and not in the heart.
12 Não estamos querendo nos elogiar a nós mesmos outra vez para vocês. Pelo contrário, queremos lhes dar motivo para terem orgulho de nós a fim de que tenham o que responder aos que se sentem orgulhosos por causa da aparência de uma pessoa e não por causa do que ela é.
13 For either we by mind [or by reason] pass (forth), (or go away from sanity, or from soberness), [it is] to God, either we be sober, [it is] to you.
13 Pois, se estamos loucos, é em favor de Deus; e, se temos juízo, é em favor de vocês.
14 For the charity of Christ driveth us (or For the love of the Messiah compelleth us); guessing [or deeming] this thing, that if one died for all, then all were dead.
14 Porque somos dominados pelo amor que Cristo tem por nós, pois reconhecemos que um homem, Jesus Cristo, morreu por todos, o que quer dizer que todos tomam parte na sua morte.
15 And Christ died for all (or And the Messiah died for all), (so) that they that live, live not now to themselves, but to him that died for them, and rose again.
15 Ele morreu por todos para que os que vivem não vivam mais para si mesmos, mas vivam para aquele que morreu e foi ressuscitado para a salvação deles.
16 Therefore we from this time know no man after the flesh; though we (have) known Christ after the flesh, but now we know not.
16 Por isso, daqui em diante, não vamos mais usar regras humanas quando julgarmos alguém. E, se antes de nos termos tornado cristãos julgamos Cristo de acordo com regras humanas, agora não fazemos mais isso.
17 Therefore if any new creature is in Christ, the old things be passed. Lo! all things be made new, (And so if anyone is in the Messiah, he is a new creature, or a new creation, and the old things be passed away. Behold! all things be made new,)
17 Quem está unido com Cristo é uma nova pessoa; acabou-se o que era velho, e já chegou o que é novo.
18 and all things be of God, which reconciled us to him by Christ (or who reconciled us to him through the Messiah), and gave to us the service [or the ministry] of reconciling.
18 Tudo isso é feito por Deus, o qual, por meio de Cristo, nos transforma de inimigos em amigos dele. E Deus nos deu a tarefa de fazer com que os outros também sejam amigos dele.
19 And [for] God was in Christ (or And because God was in the Messiah), reconciling to him the world, not reckoning to them their guilts (or their trespasses), and putted in us the word of reconciling.
19 A nossa mensagem é esta: Deus não leva em conta os pecados dos seres humanos e, por meio de Cristo, ele está fazendo com que eles sejam seus amigos. E Deus nos mandou entregar a mensagem que fala da maneira como ele faz com que eles se tornem seus amigos.
20 Therefore we use (this) message for Christ, as if God admonisheth by us; we beseech you for Christ, be ye reconciled to God. (And so we give this message for the Messiah, or from the Messiah, as if God admonisheth by us; we beseech you for the Messiah, be ye reconciled to God.)
20 Portanto, estamos aqui falando em nome de Cristo, como se o próprio Deus estivesse pedindo por meio de nós. Em nome de Cristo nós pedimos a vocês que deixem que Deus os transforme de inimigos em amigos dele.
21 God the Father made him sin for us, which knew not sin, (so) that we should be made [the] rightwiseness of God in him.
21 Em Cristo não havia pecado. Mas Deus colocou sobre Cristo a culpa dos nossos pecados para que nós, em união com ele, vivamos de acordo com a vontade de Deus.
