1 Partiu Abraão dali para a terra do Negebe, e habitou entre Cades e Sur; e peregrinou em Gerar.
2 where he|strong="H1931" said that|strong="H1931" his|strong="H7971" wife Sarah|strong="H8283" was|strong="H1931" his|strong="H7971" sister. 2 E havendo Abraão dito de Sara, sua mulher: É minha irmã; enviou Abimeleque, rei de Gerar, e tomou a Sara.

3 Deus, porém, veio a Abimeleque, em sonhos, de noite, e disse-lhe: Eis que estás para morrer por causa da mulher que tomaste; porque ela tem marido.

4 Ora, Abimeleque ainda não se havia chegado a ela: perguntou, pois: Senhor matarás porventura também uma nação justa?
5 Did|strong="H6213" Abraham not|strong="H3808" himself|strong="H1931" say to|strong="H6213" me|strong="H6213", “She|strong="H1931" is|strong="H1931" my|strong="H6213" sister?” And|strong="H6213" even|strong="H1571" she|strong="H1931" herself|strong="H1931" said, “He|strong="H1931" is|strong="H1931" my|strong="H6213" brother.” I|strong="H3808" acted|strong="H6213" innocently|strong="H8537" and|strong="H6213" in|strong="H6213" good faith.’
5 Não me disse ele mesmo: É minha irmã? e ela mesma me disse: Ele é meu irmão; na sinceridade do meu coração e na inocência das minhas mãos fiz isto.
6 Then|strong="H3651" God|strong="H5414" said|strong="H3651" to|strong="H6213" him|strong="H5414" in|strong="H5921" the|strong="H5921" dream|strong="H2472", ‘I|strong="H3588" know|strong="H3045" that|strong="H3588" you|strong="H3588" acted|strong="H6213" innocently|strong="H8537" and|strong="H6213" in|strong="H5921" good faith, and|strong="H6213" I|strong="H3588" also|strong="H1571" prevented you|strong="H3588" from|strong="H5921" sinning|strong="H2398" against|strong="H5921" me|strong="H5414", since|strong="H3588" I|strong="H3588" did|strong="H6213" not|strong="H3808" allow|strong="H5414" you|strong="H3588" to|strong="H6213" touch|strong="H5060" her|strong="H5414".
6 Ao que Deus lhe respondeu em sonhos: Bem sei eu que na sinceridade do teu coração fizeste isto; e também eu te tenho impedido de pecar contra mim; por isso não te permiti tocá-la;
7 Now|strong="H6258" you|strong="H3588" must|strong="H4191" restore|strong="H7725" the|strong="H3605" man|strong="H4191"’s wife – for|strong="H3588" he|strong="H1931" is|strong="H1931" a|strong="H3068" prophet|strong="H5030" and|strong="H7725" he|strong="H1931" can|strong="H3045" intercede|strong="H6419" for|strong="H3588" you|strong="H3588", and|strong="H7725" you|strong="H3588" will|strong="H1931" live|strong="H2421". But|strong="H3588" if|strong="H3588" you|strong="H3588" do|strong="H3605" not|strong="H3045" restore|strong="H7725" her|strong="H3605" at|strong="H4191" once|strong="H7725", you|strong="H3588" will|strong="H1931" die|strong="H4191", together with|strong="H3045" all|strong="H3605" your|strong="H3605" people|strong="H1931".’
7 agora, pois, restitui a mulher a seu marido, porque ele é profeta, e intercederá por ti, e viverás; se, porém, não lha restituíres, sabe que certamente morrerás, tu e tudo o que é teu.
8 Abimelech rose|strong="H7925" early|strong="H7925" in|strong="H1696" the|strong="H3605" morning|strong="H1242", and|strong="H5650" summoned|strong="H7121" all|strong="H3605" his|strong="H3605" court, and|strong="H5650" when|strong="H1696" he|strong="H3605" had|strong="H5650" told|strong="H1696" all|strong="H3605" these|strong="H1696" things|strong="H1697" in|strong="H1696" their|strong="H3605" hearing|strong="H3372", they|strong="H1697" were|strong="H1697" greatly|strong="H3966" afraid|strong="H3372".
8 Levantou-se Abimeleque de manhã cedo e, chamando a todos os seus servos, falou-lhes aos ouvidos todas estas palavras; e os homens temeram muito.
9 Then|strong="H6213" Abimelech called|strong="H7121" Abraham and|strong="H1419" asked|strong="H4100" him|strong="H7121", ‘What|strong="H4100" have|strong="H3588" you|strong="H3588" done|strong="H6213" to|strong="H6213" us|strong="H5921"? What|strong="H4100" harm|strong="H2398" have|strong="H3588" I|strong="H3588" done|strong="H6213" to|strong="H6213" you|strong="H3588" to|strong="H6213" make|strong="H6213" you|strong="H3588" bring|strong="H6213" this|strong="H6213" great|strong="H1419" sin|strong="H2398" on|strong="H5921" me|strong="H5978" and|strong="H1419" my|strong="H5921" kingdom|strong="H4467"? You|strong="H3588" have|strong="H3588" done|strong="H6213" to|strong="H6213" me|strong="H5978" something that|strong="H3588" ought not|strong="H3808" to|strong="H6213" be|strong="H3808" done|strong="H6213".’
9 Então chamou Abimeleque a Abraão e lhe perguntou: Que é que nos fizeste? e em que pequei contra ti, para trazeres sobre mim o sobre o meu reino tamanho pecado? Tu me fizeste o que não se deve fazer.
10 Abimelech said|strong="H1697" to|strong="H6213" Abraham, ‘What|strong="H4100" was|strong="H1697" your|strong="H7200" purpose|strong="H1697" in|strong="H6213" doing|strong="H6213" this|strong="H2088" thing|strong="H1697"?’
10 Perguntou mais Abimeleque a Abraão: Com que intenção fizeste isto?
11 Abraham answered|strong="H1697", ‘Because|strong="H3588" I|strong="H3588" thought|strong="H1697", “Surely|strong="H3588" reverence|strong="H3374" for|strong="H3588" God is|strong="H2088" not|strong="H2088" in|strong="H5921" this|strong="H2088" place|strong="H4725" and|strong="H1697" they|strong="H3588" will|strong="H1697" slay|strong="H2026" me|strong="H5921" for|strong="H3588" my|strong="H5921" wife’s sake|strong="H5921".”
11 Respondeu Abraão: Porque pensei: Certamente não há temor de Deus neste lugar; matar-me-ão por causa da minha mulher.
12 Moreover|strong="H1571", she|strong="H1931" really is|strong="H1931" my|strong="H1961" sister, the|strong="H1961" daughter|strong="H1323" of|strong="H1323" my|strong="H1961" father, though|strong="H1571" not|strong="H3808" the|strong="H1961" daughter|strong="H1323" of|strong="H1323" my|strong="H1961" mother; and|strong="H1323" she|strong="H1931" became|strong="H1961" my|strong="H1961" wife.
12 Além disso ela é realmente minha irmã, filha de meu pai, ainda que não de minha mãe; e veio a ser minha mulher.
13 So|strong="H6213" when|strong="H1961" God caused|strong="H1961" me|strong="H5978" to|strong="H1961" wander|strong="H8582" from|strong="H1961" my|strong="H3605" father’s house|strong="H1004", I|strong="H2088" said to|strong="H1961" her|strong="H3605", “This|strong="H2088" is|strong="H2088" how|strong="H6213" you|strong="H3605" can|strong="H6213" show|strong="H6213" your|strong="H3605" loyalty|strong="H2617" to|strong="H1961" me|strong="H5978": at|strong="H1004" every|strong="H3605" place|strong="H4725" to|strong="H1961" which|strong="H1931" we|strong="H3068" come|strong="H1961", say that|strong="H3605" you|strong="H3605" are|strong="H1004" my|strong="H3605" brother.”’
13 Quando Deus me fez sair errante da casa de meu pai, eu lhe disse a ela: Esta é a graça que me farás: em todo lugar aonde formos, dize de mim: Ele é meu irmão.
14 Abimelech then|strong="H3947" took|strong="H3947" sheep|strong="H6629" and|strong="H7725" oxen|strong="H1241", and|strong="H7725" male|strong="H5650" and|strong="H7725" female|strong="H8198" slaves|strong="H5650" and|strong="H7725" gave|strong="H5414" them|strong="H5414" to|strong="H7725" Abraham|strong="H3947", and|strong="H7725" restored|strong="H7725" Sarah|strong="H8283" his|strong="H5414" wife to|strong="H7725" him|strong="H5414".
14 Então tomou Abimeleque ovelhas e bois, e servos e servas, e os deu a Abraão; e lhe restituiu Sara, sua mulher;
15 Also|strong="H5869" Abimelech said, ‘My|strong="H6440" land|strong="H6440" lies before|strong="H6440" you|strong="H6440"; live|strong="H3427" wherever|strong="H2896" you|strong="H6440" please|strong="H2896".’
15 e disse-lhe Abimeleque: Eis que a minha terra está diante de ti; habita onde bem te parecer.
16 To|strong="H5414" Sarah|strong="H8283" he|strong="H1931" said, ‘I|strong="H5414" have|strong="H5869" given|strong="H5414" your|strong="H3605" “brother” a|strong="H3068" thousand pieces of|strong="H5869" silver|strong="H3701" as|strong="H5869" compensation|strong="H3682" in|strong="H5414" the|strong="H3605" sight|strong="H5869" of|strong="H5869" everyone|strong="H3605" here|strong="H2009", and|strong="H3701" you|strong="H5414" are|strong="H5869" vindicated in|strong="H5414" the|strong="H3605" eyes|strong="H5869" of|strong="H5869" all|strong="H3605".’
16 E a Sara disse: Eis que tenho dado a teu irmão mil moedas de prata; isso te seja por véu dos olhos a todos os que estão contigo; e perante todos estás reabilitada.
17 Then Abraham prayed|strong="H6419" to|strong="H3205" God and|strong="H6419" God healed|strong="H7495" Abimelech, and|strong="H6419" his|strong="H3205" wife, and|strong="H6419" his|strong="H3205" slave-girls, so that they|strong="H3205" could have|strong="H3205" children|strong="H3205" (
17 Orou Abraão a Deus, e Deus sarou Abimeleque, e a sua mulher e as suas servas; de maneira que tiveram filhos;
18 for|strong="H3588" the|strong="H3605" \+w Lord|strong="H3068"\+w* had|strong="H3068" made|strong="H3068" every|strong="H3605" woman|strong="H1004" in|strong="H5921" Abimelech’s household|strong="H1004" barren, because|strong="H3588" of|strong="H1004" Sarah|strong="H8283", Abraham’s wife).
18 porque o Senhor havia fechado totalmente todas as madres da casa de Abimeleque, por causa de Sara, mulher de Abraão.
