1 Then, using this illustration, Jesus spoke to them. He said, “A man planted a vineyard. He put a wall around it, made a vat for the winepress, and built a watchtower. Then he leased it to vineyard workers and went on a trip.
1 E começou a falar-lhes por parábolas: Um homem plantou uma vinha, e cercou-a de um valado, e fundou nela um lagar, e edificou uma torre, e arrendou-a a uns lavradores, e partiu para fora da terra.
2 “At the right time he sent a servant to the workers to collect from them a share of the grapes from the vineyard.
2 E, chegado o tempo, mandou um servo aos lavradores para que recebesse, dos lavradores, do fruto da vinha.
3 The workers took the servant, beat him, and sent him back with nothing.
3 Mas estes, apoderando-se dele, o feriram e o mandaram embora vazio.
4 So the man sent another servant to them. They hit the servant on the head and treated him shamefully.
4 E tornou a enviar-lhes outro servo; e eles, apedrejando-o, o feriram na cabeça, e o mandaram embora, tendo-o afrontado.
5 The man sent another, and they killed that servant. Then he sent many other servants. Some of these they beat, and others they killed.
5 E tornou a enviar-lhes outro, e a este mataram; e a outros muitos, dos quais a uns feriram e a outros mataram.
6 “He had one more person to send. That person was his son, whom he loved. Finally, he sent his son to them. He thought, ‘They will respect my son.’
6 Tendo ele, pois, ainda um seu filho amado, enviou-o também a estes por derradeiro, dizendo: Ao menos terão respeito ao meu filho.
7 “But those workers said to one another, ‘This is the heir. Let’s kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.’
7 Mas aqueles lavradores disseram entre si: Este é o herdeiro; vamos, matemo-lo, e a herança será nossa.
8 So they took him, killed him, and threw him out of the vineyard.
8 E, pegando dele, o mataram, e o lançaram fora da vinha.
9 “What will the owner of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy the workers and give the vineyard to others.
9 Que fará, pois, o senhor da vinha? Virá, e destruirá os lavradores, e dará a vinha a outros.
10 Have you never read the Scripture passage:
10 Ainda não lestes esta Escritura:A pedra, que os edificadores rejeitaram,Esta foi posta por cabeça de esquina;
11 The Lord has done this,
11 Isto foi feito pelo Senhor E é coisa maravilhosa aos nossos olhos?
12 They wanted to arrest him but were afraid of the crowd. They knew that he had directed this illustration at them. So they left him alone and went away.
12 E buscavam prendê-lo, mas temiam a multidão; porque entendiam que contra eles dizia esta parábola; e, deixando-o, foram-se.
13 The leaders sent some of the Pharisees and some of Herod’s followers to Jesus. They wanted to trap him into saying the wrong thing.
13 E enviaram-lhe alguns dos fariseus e dos herodianos, para que o apanhassem nalguma palavra.
14 When they came to him, they said, “Teacher, we know that you tell the truth. You don’t favor individuals because of who they are. Rather, you teach the way of God truthfully. Is it right to pay taxes to the emperor or not? Should we pay taxes or not?”
14 E, chegando eles, disseram-lhe: Mestre, sabemos que és homem de verdade, e de ninguém se te dá, porque não olhas à aparência dos homens, antes com verdade ensinas o caminho de Deus; é lícito dar o tributo a César, ou não? Daremos, ou não daremos?
15 Jesus recognized their hypocrisy, so he asked them, “Why do you test me? Bring me a coin so that I can look at it.”
15 Então ele, conhecendo a sua hipocrisia, disse-lhes: Por que me tentais? Trazei-me uma moeda, para que a veja.
16 They brought a coin. He said to them, “Whose face and name is this?”
16 E eles lha trouxeram. E disse-lhes: De quem é esta imagem e inscrição? E eles lhe disseram: De César.
17 Jesus said to them, “Give the emperor what belongs to the emperor, and give God what belongs to God.”
17 E Jesus, respondendo, disse-lhes: Dai pois a César o que é de César, e a Deus o que é de Deus. E maravilharam-se dele.
18 Some Sadducees, who say that people will never come back to life, came to Jesus. They asked him,
18 Então os saduceus, que dizem que não há ressurreição, aproximaram-se dele, e perguntaram-lhe, dizendo:
19 “Teacher, Moses wrote for us, ‘If a man dies and leaves a wife but no child, his brother should marry his widow and have children for his brother.’
19 Mestre, Moisés nos escreveu que, se morresse o irmão de alguém, e deixasse a mulher e não deixasse filhos, seu irmão tomasse a mulher dele, e suscitasse descendência a seu irmão.
20 There were seven brothers. The first got married and died without having children.
20 Ora, havia sete irmãos, e o primeiro tomou a mulher, e morreu sem deixar descendência;
21 The second married her and died without having children. So did the third.
21 E o segundo também a tomou e morreu, e nem este deixou descendência; e o terceiro da mesma maneira.
22 None of the seven brothers had any children. Last of all, the woman died.
22 E tomaram-na os sete, sem, contudo, terem deixado descendência. Finalmente, depois de todos, morreu também a mulher.
23 When the dead come back to life, whose wife will she be? The seven brothers had married her.”
23 Na ressurreição, pois, quando ressuscitarem, de qual destes será a mulher? porque os sete a tiveram por mulher.
24 Jesus said to them, “Aren’t you mistaken because you don’t know the Scriptures or God’s power?
24 E Jesus, respondendo, disse-lhes: Porventura não errais vós em razão de não saberdes as Escrituras nem o poder de Deus?
25 When the dead come back to life, they don’t marry. Rather, they are like the angels in heaven.
25 Porquanto, quando ressuscitarem dentre os mortos, nem casarão, nem se darão em casamento, mas serão como os anjos que estão nos céus.
26 Haven’t you read in the book of Moses that the dead come back to life? It’s in the passage about the bush, where God said, ‘I am the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.’
26 E, acerca dos mortos que houverem de ressuscitar, não tendes lido no livro de Moisés como Deus lhe falou na sarça, dizendo: Eu sou o Deus de Abraão, e o Deus de Isaque, e o Deus de Jacó?
27 He’s not the God of the dead but of the living. You’re badly mistaken!”
27 Ora, Deus não é de mortos, mas sim, é Deus de vivos. Por isso vós errais muito.
28 One of the experts in Moses’ Teachings went to Jesus during the argument with the Sadducees. He saw how well Jesus answered them, so he asked him, “Which commandment is the most important of them all?”
28 Aproximou-se dele um dos escribas que os tinha ouvido disputar, e sabendo que lhes tinha respondido bem, perguntou-lhe: Qual é o primeiro de todos os mandamentos?
29 Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Listen, Israel, the Lord our God is the only Lord.
29 E Jesus respondeu-lhe: O primeiro de todos os mandamentos é: Ouve, Israel, o Senhor nosso Deus é o único Senhor.
30 So love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’
30 Amarás, pois, ao Senhor teu Deus de todo o teu coração, e de toda a tua alma, e de todo o teu entendimento, e de todas as tuas forças; este é o primeiro mandamento.
31 The second most important commandment is this: ‘Love your neighbor as you love yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.”
31 E o segundo, semelhante a este, é: Amarás o teu próximo como a ti mesmo. Não há outro mandamento maior do que estes.
32 The expert in Moses’ Teachings said to Jesus, “Teacher, that was well said! You’ve told the truth that there is only one God and no other besides him!
32 E o escriba lhe disse: Muito bem, Mestre, e com verdade disseste que há um só Deus, e que não há outro além dele;
33 To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding, with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as you love yourself is more important than all the burnt offerings and sacrifices.”
33 E que amá-lo de todo o coração, e de todo o entendimento, e de toda a alma, e de todas as forças, e amar o próximo como a si mesmo, é mais do que todos os holocaustos e sacrifícios.
34 When Jesus heard how wisely the man answered, he told the man, “You’re not too far from God’s kingdom.”
34 E Jesus, vendo que havia respondido sabiamente, disse-lhe: Não estás longe do reino de Deus. E já ninguém ousava perguntar-lhe mais nada.
35 While Jesus was teaching in the temple courtyard, he asked, “How can the experts in Moses’ Teachings say that the Messiah is David’s son?
35 E, falando Jesus, dizia, ensinando no templo: Como dizem os escribas que o Cristo é filho de Davi?
36 David, guided by the Holy Spirit, said,
36 O próprio Davi disse pelo Espírito Santo:O Senhor disse ao meu Senhor:Assenta-te à minha direita Até que eu ponha os teus inimigos por escabelo dos teus pés.
37 David calls him Lord. So how can he be his son?”
37 Pois, se Davi mesmo lhe chama Senhor, como é logo seu filho? E a grande multidão o ouvia de boa vontade.
38 As he taught, he said, “Watch out for the experts in Moses’ Teachings! They like to walk around in long robes, to be greeted in the marketplaces,
38 E, ensinando-os, dizia-lhes: Guardai-vos dos escribas, que gostam de andar com vestes compridas, e das saudações nas praças,
39 and to have the front seats in synagogues and the places of honor at dinners.
39 E das primeiras cadeiras nas sinagogas, e dos primeiros assentos nas ceias;
40 They rob widows by taking their houses and then say long prayers to make themselves look good. The experts in Moses’ Teachings will receive the most severe punishment.”
40 Que devoram as casas das viúvas, e isso com pretexto de largas orações. Estes receberão mais grave condenação.
41 As Jesus sat facing the temple offering box, he watched how ⌞much⌟ money people put into it. Many rich people put in large amounts.
41 E, estando Jesus assentado defronte da arca do tesouro, observava a maneira como a multidão lançava o dinheiro na arca do tesouro; e muitos ricos deitavam muito.
42 A poor widow dropped in two small coins, worth less than a cent.
42 Vindo, porém, uma pobre viúva, deitou duas pequenas moedas, que valiam meio centavo.
43 He called his disciples and said to them, “I can guarantee this truth: This poor widow has given more than all the others.
43 E, chamando os seus discípulos, disse-lhes: Em verdade vos digo que esta pobre viúva deitou mais do que todos os que deitaram na arca do tesouro;
44 All of them have given what they could spare. But she, in her poverty, has given everything she had to live on.”
44 Porque todos ali deitaram do que lhes sobejava, mas esta, da sua pobreza, deitou tudo o que tinha, todo o seu sustento.
